Hello, PatGallacher,

Thank you for creating Diego Brochero.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This has no inline citations and no clear evidence of notability. Many men will have taken part in the armadas. Can you please add information, and corresponding sources, to show why he was notable?

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Boleyn}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

List of suicides

Hi. Please do not add uncited material to articles, as you did with your edits to List of suicides. As you've accumulated over 44,000 edits here since 2005, I'm guessing you may have learned that Wikipedia requires reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources in the form of an inline citation, and that includes list articles. I'm surprised that you didn't notice that all the other entries in the articles were accompanied by them. Moreover, Robert Maxwell's article explicitly indicates that his death was ruled not a suicide. Nightscream (talk) 04:09, 4 April 2021 (UTC)

I think some people continue to have suspicions that Maxwell's death could have been suicide, but I won't press the issue. I have added a couple of refs for Norton-Griffiths. PatGallacher (talk) 11:55, 4 April 2021 (UTC)

It doesn't matter. We cannot add material to the article that is not supported by the cited sources. You should know this by now, as I mentioned above.
And I notice you did so again when you added this passage to the article, which is not mentioned in the cited source. Please stop doing this. You obviously have the ability to make solid contributions that improve the article, but we have to follow Wikipedia policy. Thank you. Nightscream (talk) 20:06, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
Well maybe my French isn't very good, but I will see if I can improve the referencing of this point. PatGallacher (talk) 20:13, 5 April 2021 (UTC)
Your French not being very good caused you read a method of suicide that wasn't in the article at all?
I don't speak or read French at all. I simply used Google Translate, and saw that the article makes no mention of the method of suicide. Nightscream (talk) 14:28, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
Hi again. Can you tell me where in the source you cited it says that gunshot was the method of Adolfe Joffe's suicide? I couldn't find any mention of this in the entire page when I used search terms like "gun", "shot", etc. Even his own Wikipedia article, in which that page you cited in the suicide article was one of the two sources cited for his suicide, makes no mention of the method. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 00:46, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
Fifth paragraph from end: "An hour or two later an unfamiliar voice in formed me over the telephone: “Adolph Abramovich has shot himself. There is a packet for you on his bed-side table.” In Byeloborodov’s house, there were always a few military oppositionists on duty to accompany me in my movements about town. We set off in haste for Joffe’s. In answer to our ringing and knocking, some one demanded our names from behind the door and then opened it after some delay; something mysterious was going on inside. As we entered, I saw the calm and infinitely tender face of Adolph Abramovich against a blood-stained pillow." PatGallacher (talk) 18:28, 7 April 2021 (UTC)

Thanks.

Btw, I have reverted your addition of Giuseppe Pinelli to the article, because the source you cited indicates that the cause of his death was neither homicide nor suicide. The headline of that article explicitly states this: "Né omicidio né suicido: Pinelli cadde perché colto da malore" translates as "Neither murder nor suicide: Pinelli fell because he was taken ill". Courthouse news

Hi I notice that you archived the section on the fact that Virginia Roberts/Giuffre asked for Prince Andrews help. This comes from a publication known as courthousenews which as far as I know is not banned. There would not seem to me to be a problem with this news source. "Courthouse News Service is a nationwide news service for lawyers and the news media. Based in Pasadena, California, Courthouse News focuses on civil litigation, from the date of filing through the appellate level. Unlike other internet-based publishers that simply aggregate information prepared by other content providers, Courthouse News publishes its own original news content prepared by its staff of reporters and editors based across the country."

"Courthouse News also publishes the Central District Almanac and the Entertainment Law Digest. In addition to its coverage of trial courts, Courthouse News began covering appellate rulings on a comprehensive basis in California in the late 1990s, slowly adding courts as the years went by. Today, Courthouse News covers almost all the appellate courts in the United States. Courthouse News also reports on newly proposed and passed federal laws and regulations. In the past year, Courthouse News began live coverage of arguments in the U.S. Supreme Court and live coverage of Congress, including confirmation hearings for new federal judges. Courthouse News is a member of the Senate Press Gallery."

And here is the wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Courthouse_News_Service

"Courthouse News Service is a news service primarily focusing on civil litigation.[1] Its core audience is lawyers and law firms, who subscribe to the service;[1][2][3] other subscribers include nonprofits, government agencies, corporations, other media outlets, and academic institutions.[3] Courthouse News has reporters across the United States, covering both state and federal court proceedings, in trial courts and appellate courts.[1][3] It offers both free and paid services. Unlike CourtExpress and CourtLink, it does not provide comprehensive docket information; rather, Courthouse News alerts readers to new filings and rulings.[4] The news agency is based in Pasadena, California.[1] As of 2020, the service had more than 2,200 subscribers.[3] It is a competitor to Thomson Reuters, LexisNexis, and Bloomberg.[3]

In addition to covering litigation, Courthouse News also covers federal legislation and congressional activity. It is a member of the Senate Press Gallery.[1]

Courthouse News was founded in 1990.[3] During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, the group received between US$2 million and $5 million in federally-backed small business loans from City National Bank as part of the Paycheck Protection Program. The organization stated it would help them retain 256 employees.[5][6]"

You also do not give me the opportunity to reedit what I have written and merely archived it which along with the level 1 warning might perhaps come across to some as suggesting that you perhaps want to find Prince Andrew guilty. I am merely providing her own statements and she cannot thus be libelling herself. I also corrected an untruth against a living person Prince Andrew to the effect that he was first accused in 2011 for which there is no evidence in the referenced article. This correction was deleted

I am reinstating what I wrote and unless you give me a good reason why your decision is correct, I feel it is reasonable to log what occurred on my website along with information which relates to the case including my meeting with John Mark Dougan. There are certain "oddities" in your edit shall we say.

Please sign your posts, and if you believe that your edit was legitimate please raise this at the article's talk page. PatGallacher (talk) 12:02, 12 August 2021 (UTC)

Deceit

Thanks for catching the error in the broadcast date for episode 2, I'm not sure what went wrong there - think I might have copied part of the wrong draft when trying to create the table.

Regarding your other edits, I changed one back because I was using the wording from the source I was using for the paragraph (I always try to avoid rewording too much when I've added a reference, as I was people to be able to see clearly how the reference supports the tagged sentence). If I'm still falling foul of any BLP issues, maybe you could use the talk page to set out why something has to be a specific way if the edit summary isn't long enough?

Mainly I was trying to make the article less stub-by and give other editors more of a structure to build on, so I hope to see the article improve and grow over the coming weeks. Best regards H. Carver (talk) 14:01, 20 August 2021 (UTC)

Intended Bold Edit Cosby Accusations Table

Hello Pat

Your reversion of the Cosby Accuser Table edit was appropriate. It was intended as a Bold Edit but unintentionally published before giving an account for its suggested purposes for deletion. Cosby currently has the presumption of innocence granted by the courts . The accuser table is a long list of uncharged allegations which in law means without evidence. The article is about the legal cases involving Cosby on weight of content. The table is also poorly sourced from mostly opinion sources. Please accept apologies for not making this clear at the time of deletion . Cheers 107.115.33.20 (talk) 18:30, 23 August 2021 (UTC)

Al Aqsa Martyr's Brigade terrorist designation/Zakaria Zubeidi article

Hi Pat - "P:NPOVHOW WP:ACHIEVE NPOV As a general rule... Remove material only where you have a good reason to believe it misinforms or misleads readers in ways that cannot be addressed by rewriting the passage." I would refer you to the previous edits. More importantly, the Al Aqsa Martyr's Brigade has already been designated a terrorist group on their main Wikipedia page where no POV issues were raised:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Aqsa_Martyrs%27_Brigades).

Multiple similar terrorist organizations are identified as such without questioning POV: al-Qaeda: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Qaeda ISIS: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_State_of_Iraq_and_the_Levant Boko Haram: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boko_Haram Hamas: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamas Islamic Jihad: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_Jihad_Movement_in_Palestine

While I agree entirely in general the use of the word "terrorist" should be used with care to avoid POV issues, in those cases where there is a clear and general consensus along with adequate citations POV is not in play. I will re-insert the references to the US/Candadian/EU terrorist designations as these were removed by another user. If you still feel their designation as a terrorist group "misinforms or misleads readers" or represents opinion/POV please feel free to elaborate. Thanks. Speedy deletion nomination of Philippe Gautier (judge)

Hello PatGallacher,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Philippe Gautier (judge) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

  • I went ahead and removed the tag. The subject holds an office that is at least arguably notable. A brief search for sources (albeit clouded by similarly named people) indicates that they were previously a professor at a major institution, and have arbitrated some signficant international disputes. More should be added along those lines. BD2412 T 20:18, 2 November 2021 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Stan Rankin

Hello, PatGallacher. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Stan Rankin".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 17:54, 16 December 2021 (UTC)

La Libertad Avanza moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, La Libertad Avanza, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. candidate in newspaper not covered for 5 days ~ and you have a go at me during ongoing edits over an hour or so

I was working, and clearly everyone else taking an interest was not. I asked the other dude to add the candidate, with press article, which BTW is the local newspaper in the constituency ~ so should know what is going on. Is it vandalism to add a new candidate. I was part way through references, but you guys seem to want to supervise, but not actually add someone, who has been in press for FIVE days. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KingJames80pc (talkcontribs) 04:32, 11 January 2022 (UTC)

Whats the edit conflict? please talk re Newspaper Article — Preceding unsigned comment added by KingJames80pc (talkcontribs) 04:35, 11 January 2022 (UTC)

You were adding partisan and unencyclopedic material which went way beyond adding a candidate. PatGallacher (talk) 14:50, 11 January 2022 (UTC)

Notice

The article Henry Hall (American boxer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability. Fails WP:NBOX going off his record on BoxRec.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Anna Firth

Hallo, in this edit you added her name as "Annelise", though it isn't in the source then in place. An editor has just removed it as unsourced - and I can't find it anywhere. The only "Annelise Firth" seems to be an artist. Can you remember where you sourced this from, and re-add it with that source? Thanks. PamD 18:36, 10 February 2022 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Category:Tajikstani people convicted of rape indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! Information icon Hello, I'm Dormskirk. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Black Watch, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Dormskirk (talk) 22:03, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

Well, I could refer you to versions of the two songs on youtube, it's clear that they are the same tune, but I realise that may not be appropriate sourcing. PatGallacher (talk) 22:06, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
