Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Thankyou! I do have a few questions if you don't mind me asking. I have been through those links but I will go through them again as it is very helpful. I want to expand the engineering mathematics page but I am apprehensious as to the level of detail that is allowed, if there is a limit, etc.. Hi! Sorry about the late response, ping me next time so that I am aware. The engineering mathematics page is decently short, if you have reliable sources backing up everything that you are adding in, and if what you are adding is encyclopedic (Wikipedia is not a textbook), go for it! Page seems quite popular for how short it is, and you may want to reference articles on similar subjects while writing, good luck! Justiyaya 10:36, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The difference between an encyclopaedia and a textbook is something I need to better practice so that link is really helpful. Thankyou again @Justiyaya: (hope that worked!) TattersallOriginal Duke Of Earl (talk) 12:04, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
yup that worked :D Justiyaya 23:58, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Justiyaya: Would you agree that a potential structure for the engineering mathematics page would be individual sections that focussed on a main mathematic concept each? Specifically, with a short history for each, a short summary of what the concept is, and a brief list of its applications? Or is that not the scope for wikipedia? Appreciate your help :) TattersallOriginal Duke Of Earl (talk) 00:41, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Honestly not really sure, not that familiar with the subject, do you want to ask for advice at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Mathematics or Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Engineering? (the Engineering talk page is less active for some reason) Justiyaya 00:59, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Justiyaya Just posted a topic in the project mathematics :) will do that again in the project engineering too if I don't get a response. Thankyou for linking me those! TattersallOriginal Duke Of Earl (talk) 01:20, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
