Crime against humanity

It was a Troll by an IP address. See: Wikipedia:Talk#How to use article talk pages "Stay objective: Talk pages are not a forum for editors to argue their own different points of view about controversial issues. They are a forum to discuss how the different points of view obtained from secondary sources should be included in the article, so that the end result is neutral and objective (which may mean including conflicting viewpoints)." --Philip Baird Shearer (talk) 19:13, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

If it had been a signed comment from a registered user I would not have removed it, but have left a message on that users talk page. But I have no hesitation in removing an unsigned comment that is a clearly a troll by an IP address that has multiple users (so little point posting a warning). If you look around you will find other administrators take a similar line with such stuff. --Philip Baird Shearer (talk) 12:19, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Request for your comment

Here! :^)   Justmeherenow (  ) 23:52, 6 August 2008 (UTC) I'm asking for your expertise -- or at least input, lol -- on how we might operate procedurally since what we're contemplating is sort of new ground.   Justmeherenow (  ) 00:36, 7 August 2008 (UTC) What I'd meant, actually, is if you provide input about how we might structure our proposed procedures?   Justmeherenow (  ) 09:52, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

No, please do!
Abd expressed an interest in lending assistance if asked, which is encouraging. Although what it is we'd be needing from folks, if anything, still seems pretty nebulous.
If you feel your comment in the Talkpage section needs an introduction maybe just mention I'd canvassed for input from your expertise.
One thing off the top of my head (which you don't gotta respond to, but's something I've thought about) is the rationale behind general populations' using a secret ballot to select representatives: 'Cause of the social awkwardness that results from not choosing somebody certain people think you should. For example, if you're nominally a part of some faction but independently support another. (Even choosing somebody can seem awkward, if they haven't put themselves up as a candidate, for example, as it put on that person a subtle imperative to represent your interests, in a a way or else implies that you're in awe of them or beholden to whatever their philosophy blah blah blah.).......
Thx.   Justmeherenow (  ) 17:48, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Motto of the day

Hello, I notice you're using one of the {{motd}} templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.

When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.

If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 03:22, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Maintenance of Peace

Thanks, I would obviously like to share this award with all those dedicated to maintain peace in one form or another.

There are/were a number of factors which came together there to create a perfect storm of misunderstanding, it was just fortunate there were a few people around able to reply quickly enough to stop it from getting any worse than some moderate head-scratching. Hopefully we'll be able to work to addressing those issues so it is slightly less likely to happen again. Possibly. (Emperor (talk) 02:33, 19 September 2008 (UTC))

I think it is one of those things which should be chalked up as a no-blamer - a little bit of communication might have helped but it is "just one of those things". (Emperor (talk) 19:35, 19 September 2008 (UTC))

Why did you remove the Legion cat from the Legion of Galactic Guardians 2099? They are an alternate version of the team, and the category is appropriate for them. I have restored the category. Nutiketaiel (talk) 11:51, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Due to a previous consensus at the Comics project regarding the Amalgam universe articles.
Mainly that the "alternate versions" are Original research. (It would require making an interpretation of a primary source, which is a big no-no.)
And along with that, if no sources, no category, per WP:CAT.
And even if there are sources which would indicate the "amalgamation" of the LSH with a Marvel Comics concept, it still' shouldn't be in the LSH cat, but rather should be a note in the LSH article.
Based on the previous consensus, and the policies that supported it, I'll revert the re-addition. - jc37 11:56, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
Is there an archive of this consensus?
Additionally, if it was referenced, it would be perfectly appropriate to be included in the Legion cat as an alternate version of the team. Nutiketaiel (talk) 12:04, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
It was in the fairly recent past, I think.
But since it's typically a good idea when in doubt, to ask; rather than you and I re-discuss this, how about if you would start a new thread at WT:CMC concerning this. I think more input from more editors would be a "good thing". - jc37 12:09, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
Good idea. Should I transpose the conversation we've had thus far, do you think, or just start a new one with a summary? Nutiketaiel (talk) 12:15, 22 October 2008 (UTC)

Timber Wolf

Hi Nutiketaiel,

Importance ratings are subjective. My opinion regarding the relative importance of a character to the Wikipedia Comics Project is neither more nor less valid than yours. So, if you want to change it, feel free. :-)

In general, I think of long-standing, popular members of the Legion of Super-Heroes, particularly ones which have appeared in their own miniseries, as having mid importance. Certainly not high importance, but above the low importance of villains who have only rarely made an appearance. Of course, now that there's a bottom-importance category, I may have to adjust my thinking.

With over 3000 comics articles yet to be rated, I tend to make snap judgments. So, it's no big deal to me if someone else changes the rating. Have at it! :-)

The Modern Art Barnstar

Hi Nutiketaiel, it’s me, Artichoke-Boy (from MOTD).

I noticed that you’ve created some professional barnstars. I would really like to make some, too, and I recently created an outline for one called The Modern Art Barnstar (which can be awarded to anyone that makes a significant amount of contributions to articles relating to modern-art):

Do you think that this can pass as a real barnstar? Do you think people will get the Andy Warhol reference? If you don’t like something about it, feel free to criticize, by the way. Artichoke-Boy (talk) 21:16, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Inclusionism

Hey there Nutiketaiel, I see you're an avowed inclusionist. I'm curious if you've participated in any AfDs, and if so, what your impression of the process is, overall.--otherlleft (talk) 17:46, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Artichoke-Boy's Barnstar

Hi Nutiketaiel, Artichoke-Boy again.

Thank you for relying in such detail. Although I like your ideas for improving the barnstar a lot, I think I might have some difficulty with carrying it out. It's kind of embarrassing, but I don't know anything about combining 2 Wiki-images into one. Do you think it's possible if you can tell me how you've done it with your barnstars so nicely?

Thanks again for your help,

Artichoke-Boy (talk) 20:22, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Ah, that's so simple! I should have thought of that! Thanks for telling me how to combine images...I'll tell you when my barnstar is fully published (I can see a hobby forming...). Artichoke-Boy (talk) 22:03, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
AHHH, wait! I can't figure this out! How do you upload 2 pictures saved on "My Pictures" on one Paint document??? And even when you construct a barnstar there...how do you upload it on to Wikimedia???? I'm sorry if I'm pestering you...I just really want to make a barnstar. Feel free to wait in your response if you're busy with other things. (Also, all of the pictures relating to your suggestions are "fair use" images, so I can't use them! That means I'm going to have to come up with another idea for a barnstar.) Artichoke-Boy (talk) 22:44, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
Nutiketaiel…quick message, I need a response ASAP! I have completed everything, and my barnstar is complete, but when I put in all the info to upload it into WP: COMMONS, everything shows…except the image (I put in the source right, though, using “Browse”)! Now, when the instructions explain a “preview”, it says: This will not upload the image yet. Does that mean it will not show the image, or it wont save the image???? I need your help! <:O Artichoke-Boy (talk) 22:05, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
  • No, it still didn't work! I don't think COMMONS likes me...it stops me from uploading an image at every turn. After you told me that the image doesn't show when you hit "preview", I tried to upload it again, but a warning came up in red that said something along the lines of "Image is defective" or "Image is undergoing connection problems"...I forget. Anyway, I'm going to try again either later today or tomorrow (I do have a lot of homework to work on, as well). I’ll let you know if it does or doesn’t work next time (keep your fingers crossed!). Artichoke-Boy (talk) 20:51, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
Hi Nutiketaiel...It's me again. I just have to add one more question to my seemingly two million: If my barnstar image gets uploaded, do I need to nominate it to a consensus-based proposal page before making it into a professional barnstar, or can I just go ahead and add it to Wikipedia's main barnstar page? Thanks for being such a big help. Artichoke-Boy (talk) 20:02, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

The final Modern Art Barnstar message

Well, it’s official: I can’t upload an image. I tried again and checked over the information I put down very carefully, but the same red notice kept popping up: The file is corrupt or has an incorrect extension. But I’m actually not all that disappointed…there are other ways to get a barnstar created, like requesting it (for example). Maybe I’ll try to upload the image again, but for the most part I’m going to focus my attention just on Wikipedia.

I really want to say how appreciative I am for all your help, and what better way to do so than a barnstar?

The Guidance Barnstar
I, Artichoke-Boy, hereby bestow this barnstar upon Nutiketaiel, for his consistent guidance in helping me merge my userpage into Wikipedia Commons and creating my first barnstar, all with patients and detail. Even though I couldn’t upload the image at the end, you still provided me with thoughtful insights. Thanks a lot! Artichoke-Boy (talk) 22:57, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Email Artichoke-Boy

Hey, I never thought of that! I guess that could work if it's my computer that wont let me upload the image and the actual image. If you're willing to give me your email address, I'll send it to you as soon as I can. There's just one thing that I should mention:

I originally came up with the "Modern Art Barnstar" idea because I thought that I could create it without uploading any new images. I’m not going to give up on the idea, but if I can now upload images through you, can I possibly put a better barnstar idea into action after this one (assuming that this one loads properly) by emailing it to you? I've thought of one: The Essay Barnstar…awarded to those who have made (an) outstanding or influential Wiki-Essay(s). Artichoke-Boy (talk) 22:12, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

I can't explain it here, but personal matters have caused me to retire from Wikipedia. I hope you haven't gone through too much trouble, and I apologize again if you have and for any inconvenience. Hey

Thanks for your nominations for Motto of the Day. One suggestion: don't place a support underneath it. On things like AFDs, etc. it's discouraged. While Motto of the Day is not quite as serious as AfD, it's still better to leave supports/opposes to others. Hope to see more good nominations from you! Enigmamsg 21:04, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, thanks for your suggestion, I guess. I've actually been contributing at MotD for several months now; I just got out of the habit over the holiday because I was so busy, and returned when Simply South brought my attention to the relative lack of attention that MotD has been receiving lately. I intend to continue supporting my own nominations (unless there ends up being some kind of consensus against it asking me to stop, in which case I will of course), primarily because it amuses me to do so, and because it sometimes induces others to make amusing comments like La Pianista did. I would, however, appreciate it if you would refrain from removing my comments from such pages. In some cultures, removing or refactoring another's comments on Wikipedia without their permission or some kind of consensus is considered rude. Nutiketaiel (talk) 12:28, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Friendly note regarding talk page messages

Hello. As a recent editor to User talk:84.9.145.114, I wanted to leave a friendly reminder that as per WP:USER, editors may remove messages at will from their own talk pages. While we may prefer that comments be archived instead, policy does not prohibit users -including anonymous editors like this one- from deleting messages from their own talk pages. The only kinds of talk page messages that cannot be removed (as per WP:BLANKING) are declined unblock requests (but only while blocks are still in effect), confirmed sockpuppet notices, or IP header templates (for unregistered editors). These exceptions only exist in order to keep a user from potentially gaming the system. Thanks, Kralizec! (talk) 16:07, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

I finally though of what this[1] barnstar could be for. Concerning User:Jienum

He's already gotten a final warning last month for continued efforts of original research. At this point in time, reporting him to WP:AN/I would be our best option. Despite everything, he hasn't shown any sign of adhering to important policies like WP:VERIFY and WP:ORIGINAL. All I'm saying is, slapping down one warning after another has gone obsolete. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 20:17, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Very Well, I will do so. Nutiketaiel (talk) 20:19, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Any diffs will be simple to obtain. Just look at the dates he received warnings and check his contributions during that time. I can give you a hand with that if you need it ;) Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 20:25, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
I posted a thing here. What's a "diff?" Nutiketaiel (talk) 20:26, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
For example, the warning you gave him. This is called a diff. See WP:DIFFS. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 22:42, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Er, yeah, sorry. I don't actually remember editing yesterday. I had a very bad reaction to some medication I was taking. At least, that's the going theory. I'll try to correct anything I fouled up yesterday. I must have typed those things right when it started to kick in. I think in that one, I was trying to say that because the phrase in question is in a different language (i.e. Latin), it was different enough for me to accept it. Also, I think the ampersands were supposed to be asterisks and the "`" thingys were supposed to be tildes. Sorry. Nutiketaiel (talk) 12:21, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Philly montage

Hi,

I created the photo montage for the Philadelphia, PA page last week and saw it was removed because of the size. What would be an appropriate size for it?

Phillytrax (talk) 03:37, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Well, I removed it because it looked fuzzy. It wasn't a problem with the image, it was a problem with the page- the image was set to too large a size, so I restored it to the page shrank it on the page (not doing anything to the image itself). It was actually an IP Address, 69.141.179.77, that removed it and put the skyline back up, and his edit summary didn't say anything about size. I would suggest trying to get a consensus for changing the image on the article talk page before putting it back up. That should help prevent future recurrances. Nutiketaiel (talk) 12:58, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Warning

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Wikipedia:Requests for adminship. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Put the stick back in and stop reverting! What do you think this is, April Fool's Day? Nutiketaiel (talk) 13:50, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

You are coming close to violating 3RR. Please, do not transclude joke RfAs onto the main RfA page. Stick to the subpages. It's not appropriate while real RfAs are running, and it's not fair to those who have had their joke RfAs removed earlier. Please stop. Thanks, PeterSymonds :  Chat  13:51, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

You've now hit four reverts by my counting; any more and I will block you until 00:00 April 2, April Fools or not. Please cut it out. Daniel (talk) 14:14, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
I will stop reverting the RfA Page, but I still think that it is wrong. There is nothing detrimental to the Encyclopedia about jokes outside of the Mainspace, and I don't think they should be deleted summarily without a consensus to do so. Perhaps it should be discussed so a consensus can be reached. Nutiketaiel (talk) 14:17, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
In the last day four respected users, two of them admins, have seen fit to remove such joke RfAs. That should provide a baseline consensus until there is evidence that anyone other than you feels it shouldn't be so. Ironholds (talk) 14:27, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

emo barnstar?

Why isn't the emo barnstar the correct barnstar for the emo barnstar? tedder (talk) 14:54, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

It is the correct Barnstar. The one on the WP:BARN page is the same as the one on the template. The one you added was incorrect, since it was not the image that would appear if people used the template to give the award like normal. If you're going to change the barnstar, you need to change it in the template, too. Before you do so, however, as a courtesy you should discuss your proposed change on the Barnstar Talk Page and, if there is one, the relevant Wikiproject that would use that Barnstar (I think I heard somewhere that there used to he a Wikiproject Emo, but that it is inactive; you might want to see if that's true). This way, you can be sure there is consensus for your new Barnstar. After all, people might think the old image is more appropriate. No way to know unless you ask. I'm already a little worried about that, since the main focus will be fake Superboy and the Legion will just be the backup feature. Hopefully they'll wise up and reverse that after a somple of months. Or boot fake Superboy from the title completely. Nutiketaiel (talk) 19:05, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

New Service Award

I saw some discussion on the service award talk page a while back about a need for a new set of service awards so I have come up with this. I am open to just about any suggestion but please do not edit any of the templates themselves without getting permission from me first. Thanks!

Regards, Gaelen S.Talk Contribs 01:02, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

I'll be happy to join the discussion but, for the record, I don't need your permission to edit anything, nor will I ever seek the permission of one individual before I edit anything (short of an actual userpage). Nutiketaiel (talk) 11:18, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I know that you don't and somebody had brought that up already. I am aware of WP:OWN and the main reason that I added that was to indicate that I would prefer that you at least make me aware or let me know that you planned to change the template. If you are planning to do so, just send me a message and I would be pretty much okay with anything you are adding. Thanks! - Regards, Gaelen S.Talk Contribs 00:10, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

Or you could just watchlist the template so you are made aware of any changes to it automatically. Nutiketaiel (talk) 11:08, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

Re: Pepsi Motto Approval

Why not? I don't like that motto too, but there were 4 in favour (you must also count the poster) and only one was against. As you can read it has been approved per BLAND consensus. You can rest assured that it was not an easy decision to take. IMO, I did it right and in good faith, of course. I have to repeat myself: I didn't like that motto so much! –pjoef (talkcontribs) 12:42, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

Sorry to be late, Nutik, but I have been away from the computer for a few days.
In my humble opinion, four votes in favour (you must also consider the poster) and one against, means that it had the necessary consensus. Also, I do not think that to review the decisions that have been made or actions that have been taken or, worse, the archived decisions, is a good thing to do for our project. In any case, and given the current situation, I have decided to suspend myself from approving mottos for a month.
Take care, and have a safe and happy new week. –pjoef (talkcontribs) 07:26, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

Motto of the Day

The MOTD Barnstar
I LAAFan award Nutiketaiel with the Motto of the Day barnstar for your constant contributions to the project. LAAFansign review 20:40, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, man, I really appreciate this.  :-) Nutiketaiel (talk) 11:18, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

I didn't think it was unfair...

Having received evidence through the grapevine, rumour would have it that Mr. Dick Advocaat really does sport a toupee - I believe it was manufactured by Hjungar-Garnis. And this is surely relevant information in an encyclopaedic site such as this. Hmm? --83.141.77.130 (talk) 17:28, 15 September 2009 (UTC)

OK, first off, "through the grapevine" and "rumour would have it" are not reliable sources. If you are going to add information to an article, especially a biography of a living person, you need a cite a reliable source. Secondly, I don't think the fact that the man wears a toupée is really relevant to an encyclopedia article, whether it's true or not. In any case, thank you for taking the time to discuss the issue with me. Nutiketaiel (talk) 11:53, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
But the word on the street is that he really does wear a wig! And I'd rather read about who has a bald head than about the best way to construct a word processor, or how many episodes of Trumpton were broadcast. Who would lie about this sort of thing anyway? --83.141.77.130 (talk) 12:30, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
I don't give a damn what the "word on the street" is, if you don't have a reliable source, it stays out of the article period. And it doesn't matter what you'd "rather read about," because Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a tabloid gossip rag! Nutiketaiel (talk) 12:32, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
Oh... Aw that's out of order for starters. --83.141.77.130 (talk) 12:33, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Actually I do like Trumpton so fuhgedabbahdit. --83.141.77.130 (talk) 13:59, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
I have no idea what you're talking about. Nutiketaiel (talk) 14:02, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
Actually I just saw Mr. Dick Advocaat recently when Belgium lost to Armenia in the World Cup qualifiers. And his wig was flutterin' in the wind... --83.141.77.130 (talk) 18:17, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
It's irrelevant. The fact that he wears a wig is not relevant to an encyclopedia article, and even if it was, we can't cite you as a reliable source. Nutiketaiel (talk) 18:44, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
But we should surely have a source. After all, it's the truth, and us not having time to plough through all of wikipedia's famous red tape cannot be seen as a rebuttal to that fact. --83.141.77.130 (talk) 17:26, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

The need for a reliable source is not "red tape," it's one of the things that makes Wikipedia great- it's the reason we're an encyclopedia and not just a collection of rumors and misstatements. You need a source to add something, period (especially about a living person). Nutiketaiel (talk) 12:32, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Have you seen this? Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2009-09-21/WikiProject report BOZ (talk) 16:57, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

No problem. I was just looking through a few things, saw a few little problems and decided to do my part, which is pretty much what I do on Wikipedia anyway. Is the D&D Wikiproject in need of help? Nutiketaiel (talk) 12:38, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
If you are interested, sure! :) BOZ (talk) 12:43, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
Well, I guess I can give it a whirl. Looks like there are alot of unassessed and unknown importance articles, maybe I'll take some of my free time today and wade through some of those. Nothing like an assessment spree to get the blood pumping. Nutiketaiel (talk) 12:47, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
Hey, whatever floats your boat!  :) Have fun! Yeah, it looks like the unassessed have been building up - partly my fault. :) BOZ (talk) 15:05, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. Nutiketaiel (talk) 15:10, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

As far as project assessment goes, we have been using Redirect for anything which was simply redirected to another article without a Merge, and we have been using the Merge qualifier for any article which has actually been... well, merged. :) BOZ (talk) 15:46, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

Ah. Why make the distinction? Nutiketaiel (talk) 15:48, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
It's great that you're helping out! I think User:Drilnoth found the Merge class on a different wikiproject's assessment scheme and added it to ours; feel free to ask him about it. It's a semantic distinction I suppose, kind of tells us "This one has been merged somewhere, but this one has not" in case we feel it really ought to be merged somewhere, or shouldn't have been redirected in the first place. The project article count is somewhere under 1700, but I think it is inaccurate because some articles were likely redirected - or restored - without correcting the assessment rating. I have a pretty big merge project in the works, but I want to knock a few other things out before I get to it - hope to start by the end of the year, but I'm not sweating it. :) BOZ (talk) 17:15, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
Well, I think I managed to change back all the ones I changed incorrectly. Going to take a break from the assessments for now, I'll get back to itn next week maybe. Nutiketaiel (talk) 17:26, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
That's cool - I appreciate it! Have a happy Halloween/weekend. :) BOZ (talk) 17:49, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

Global Environment Organization

I see : "This user wants to reform the United Nations". I agree. And this is what the Global Environment Organisation is all about. Thanks a lot for your corrections on the article, very appreciated. The article is "being considered for deletion", I think that would be quite a significant loss. I made all the changes WKP admins suggested and I think now, this is a quite reliable article. Do you have further advices to make this article even better - just to make sure it doesn't get deleted? I will work on the spanish and German versions soon. Thanks a lot. --cesarharada (talk) 20:49, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

Please check out this new guideline. I picked up pieces from the MOTD pages and added some rules of my own. Please comment on its talk page or WT:MOTD. Kayau Odyssey HUCK FINN to the lighthouse BACK FROM EXAMS 06:33, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

Gene did a book under the Amazing Stories imprint for TSR, but never did any D&D stuff that I'm aware of. Given that I was writing for Dragon during that era, and that I'm a friend of his (even sold an interview with him, a couple of times), I think I would know if there was anything to make him relevant. Thus, I have removed that template. Thanks for the AGF. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:07, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Hello, Nutiketaiel. I wanted you to know that I've restored this user's edit at Lucky Ali and would like you to take another look at their edits elsewhere. While I agree at first glance the unexplained removal is questionable, the user has since stated that these removals were in accordance with our WP:BLP and WP:NFCC policies. The images being removed are either replaceable fair use (which I have now nominated for deletion) or invalid fair use (the edit I have restored). The text being removed is unreferenced, and in one case is certainly questionable. Please take a second look at these edits, and take more care when rollbacking edits in the future. Thank you. Hersfold (t/a/c) 20:28, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

I am sure that you are correct, but they did appear to be removals with no reason, especially the images. It would have killed the guy to take an extra two seconds to write an edit summary? Nutiketaiel (talk) 20:36, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
I know, and myself and two other admins have addressed that issue with him, as well as the lack of discussion. He's now been unblocked, and I'm going to keep an eye on him to make sure this doesn't continue. Thanks for your time. Hersfold (t/a/c) 20:59, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
Not at all. Thank you for taking the time to speak to me about the situation. I've always thought that you're one of the good Admins. Incidentally, per your request I reviewed the pages in question and restored Type89's edits. Nutiketaiel (talk) 21:02, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

D&D article assessment

Hi there. I notice you have done some article assessments on the D&D wikiproject. I have gone through the B-class articles and I'm now working through the C-class articles (I'm on the F's) and just doing a quick re-assess. For the most part I'm keeping things at the same assessment level, although I have raised at least one and downgraded about 4 or 5 due to lack of citations/sourcing. At the same time, I am adding the B-class assessment checklist with a really quick, superficial check on whether the article is mostly sourced, if it has a defined structure, and if it has an infobox and image. I didn't fill out all of the criteria, so if you have some free time and are interested, there's a little project for you. ;) I imagine I will also check out the starts and stubs when I'm done with the C's, although that's a very long-term project! 204.153.84.10 (talk) 23:22, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

You didn't get the problem from what he wrote? Well, That quote was scheduled for May 25th, and Pjoef didn't know it and used the quote earlier, becasue I left the In Review one open. We just need to decide between the two quotes. Thanks. Hi878 (talk) 05:07, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

I can find no block on this account. ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Hello, Nutiketaiel. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Hello, Nutiketaiel. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Amazer, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Speedy deletion nomination of Amazer

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Amazer, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. PRehse (talk) 15:40, 15 November 2017 (UTC)
