Hi! How are you doing?[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia!

I came across your help request at Wikipedia:User Page Design Center/Help and collaboration/Help Requests.

You asked "I need help making my page look nice. Can someone help me perhaps by suggesting a design?"

Sure. I can.

The simplest design to start out with is the "article format". Just write your user page like an article, using headings and paragraphs, and maybe a list or two. The most important thing is to tell us (the Wikipedia community) about yourself, especially about your expertise, so that we may get to know you and approach you with intelligent requests (and suggestions). Let us know what you are capable of, your availability, your interests, what you are working on, etc.

You can add new page design elements as you progress. There's no hurry.

For ideas on what else you could put on your user page, and what else you can use your user page and user space (subpages) for, see the User Page Design Center. It covers everything from menus to borders to background colors to content and images. Everything. There is even a section listing some of the best user pages on Wikipedia.

I hope you find my advice helpful.

Good luck, and have fun.  ;)

Simple formatting[edit]

I took the liberty of adding some simple formatting to your user pages to help you get started. You can tweak the wikicode, changing the colors, etc. For a selection of colors to choose from, see Web colors. The Transhumanist    10:48, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Help with your user page[edit]

Is there any design that you would favor? I could apply them. I am one of the newer members, so ill need specifics on what yopu want, but ill get it done. Trust me!

Re: Adoption[edit]

Sure. I'm not on Wikipedia every day, so I'd recommend that you would get a co-adopter if you need a very active person in your time zone. « Diligent Terrier (talk) 13:11, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to go ahead and adopt you, per your request. « Diligent Terrier [talk] 12:58, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My user page design[edit]

Thank you for the reply. I sort of like this one, but don't like that the page is closed, and only the subtitles are showing. Can that be managed? Northern Romania (talk) 21:34, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what you mean by "the page is closed". Please explain further.
To make it so that the whole boxes are showing and not just the subtitles, remove the "class=Nav" (NavFrame, NavHead, NavContent) entries and the "display: none;" entries from the wikicode. Then everything will show up. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask. Good luck with your user page.  ;) The Transhumanist    18:51, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Some help[edit]

Hello Northern Romania. I noticed your request for help here. I have never adopted anyone, and I am not a great one for formalities, but you are welcome to visit my talk page for help whenever you need it. The first thing you obviously need help with is to fix your signature. In your preferences make sure that 'raw signatures' is ticked, and enter the following one line of code into the signature box:

<font color="#4169E1">Northern</font> <font color="#008080">Romania</font> <small>Pentru nordul României</small>

It should fix your sig. -- zzuuzz (talk) 01:08, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Were you wanting an adopter?[edit]

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
