Vaughan Jones died on September 6 2020 in the evening. A letter from the Chair of Vanderbilt Math department about it was received on September 7, 2020 by the faculty members.

The email says "last night" not "evening." So likely Sept. 6, but possibly Sept. 7, but at any rate it was certainly not Sept. 8.Njsnyder (talk) 19:46, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
