DYK for Jemma Mitchell case[edit]

On 7 November 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Jemma Mitchell case, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that the sentencing phase of the Jemma Mitchell case was the second to be filmed in England and Wales since a change in the law permitted television cameras into court? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Jemma Mitchell case. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Jemma Mitchell case), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Dawn of the Dead (2004 film) you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by ChristieBot, on behalf of MyCatIsAChonk -- MyCatIsAChonk (talk) 18:21, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The article Dawn of the Dead (2004 film) you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Dawn of the Dead (2004 film) for comments about the article, and Talk:Dawn of the Dead (2004 film)/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Second GA nom for Shin Ultraman[edit]

Hello, I just wanted to inform you that I've gone by your advice and nominated the article for a peer review, and fixed it up as best I could and re-nominated it for a second GA review (as the peer reviewer and I both thought the page was ready for a second nomination). - Eiga-Kevin2 (talk) 03:03, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Power Duo on America's Got Talent.jpg[edit]

DYK for Dawn of the Dead (2004 film)[edit]

On 10 February 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Dawn of the Dead (2004 film), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that during the filming of Dawn of the Dead, hundreds of extras in zombie makeup had to be on constant standby, so the crew built a "factory" where painted extras were on-call? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Dawn of the Dead (2004 film). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Dawn of the Dead (2004 film)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. September 2023[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Danny Masterson. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. It should go without saying that you don't get to unilaterally decide a matter that you know is being discussed at an article's Talk page. You are welcome to join the discussion. DonIago (talk) 04:18, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Doniago: honestly, you're just splitting hairs over this edit. Your rationale only stems from the fact that Danny Boy is going to appeal his conviction and therefore should not be immediately treated as a felon because he could be innocent. May I remind you that it is not Wikipedia's job to sympathize with living persons reported in their articles? Our task is to objectively discuss living persons based upon reliable sources about them. Since Danny Boy has been convicted of decades-old sex crimes, we shall treat him as a sex offender at the beginning of the article; the fact he's going to appeal is irrelevant. If Danny Boy does prevail in his appeal, then we can treat him as a former actor. Until then, he remains a convicted sex offender. Period. Nineteen Ninety-Four guy (talk) 06:17, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to raise your concerns at the article's Talk page, where there is already an ongoing discussion. DonIago (talk) 06:50, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable non-free use File:John Gatins, Leprechaun 3.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:John Gatins, Leprechaun 3.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your WP:RX request[edit]

Hey! It is rather unfortunate that RX seems suboptimal if you are looking for 1990s–2000s pop culture-related magazines, these requests seemingly never get fulfilled. Anyway, in your case, I was able to find Fangoria issues in question. I must have missed your request while it was still there, sorry for that. Yes Sent you a wikimail. Re: RPGamer[edit]

While I'm not entirely keen on Exdeath getting the DIY nom because I'm still working on it and that fellow kinda just did their own thing randomly, the comment about RPGamer felt weird. It's a reliable source according to WP:VG/S, and the person cited is staff. Kung Fu Man (talk) 06:00, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Kung Fu Man: I see. Perhaps you should have informed the DYK moderators about it in the nom page before an editor could make a review; given the massive backlog DYK is currently in, the last thing it needs is another aimless nomination. But I appreciate you pointing me in the right direction, and I'm sorry the nominator didn't bother crediting you as the "mainspace mover" on the DYK at the very least. Nineteen Ninety-Four guy (talk) 06:13, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I assumed incorrectly that the "Author" was for the DYK and not the article, sorry for that. Given that the field is in between the fields for the DYK and not the article, I imagine others have made that mistake though. detriaskies 16:40, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also while I am here, calling it a aimless nomination doesn't feel great! I am just a new editor trying to do things in good faith, and figured it was a good and well written article to try a new thing with. detriaskies 16:49, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
DetriaSkies, while I can appreciate you calling me out on not having assumed good faith as you say, that doesn't change the fact that you didn't familiarize yourself with the DYK guidelines properly before impulsively nominating the Exdeath article, which you even insisted that it be nominated despite the fact it was still a work in progress. But to answer your question in your talk, WP:DYKCOMPLETE requires that nominations be reasonably complete and not some sort of work in progress, and that means no maintenance templates on expansion or anything that would prevent the article from getting featured in the Main page for that matter. Please read Wikipedia:Did you know/Guidelines properly this time. Nineteen Ninety-Four guy (talk) 17:40, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, thank you for clearing that up! detriaskies 17:42, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for First Shift (film)[edit]

On 28 April 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article First Shift (film), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Uwe Boll has described his 2024 crime drama film First Shift as the least violent in his body of work? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/First Shift (film). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, First Shift (film)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed.
