Speedy deletion of Joukyou Gimin Memorial Museum[edit]

A tag has been placed on Joukyou Gimin Memorial Museum, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. A tag has been placed on Joukyou Uprising requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Matsumoto Castle[edit]

Hi Mt. Jounen! I noticed that you added a sentence ("In 1936 the keep and four other buildings were designated as national treasures.") to Matsumoto Castle. I am not sure what source you used for that.

As you might know, there is a difference between pre-1951 National Treasures (NT) and National Treasures that were designated after 1951. Have a look for the details at the National Treasures of Japan article. Basically all the pre-1951 NT became "Important Cultural Properties" (ICP) in 1951. Since then some of the ICP have been designated as new NT. So a new (after 1951) National Treasure is more prestigious than an old (before 1951) one since there are fewer of them.

Concerning your sentence mentioned above, I don't know if it is correct, since I don't know much about pre-1951 NT. It is true that the keep and four other structures were designated as new NT in 1952. A list of which structures are NT can be found here. Since you are interested in the Matsumoto Castle article, could you change the sentence ("It is listed as a National Treasure of Japan.") in the lead since it is somewhat misleading. There is no such thing as a "Castle National Treasure". Only separate structures are NT. So the sentence should read something like: "The keep, the.... and... are listed as NT of Japan".
