Your AIV report[edit]

I did not block the user you reported at WP:AIV. As you can see here, he has only ever made one edit. One edit is never grounds for three separate warnings, and you should not report users to AIV unless they continue to vandalize pages after all of the appropriate warnings are issued. There's no point warning someone and punishing them at the same time, right? You have to give them a chance to stop. Considering that this guy completely stopped editing more than 12 hours before your warnings, there was certainly no cause to report him for vandalism. So, to clarify, here's how the system works:

  1. User vandalizes a page
  2. You warn them with {{uw-v1}} or {{uw-v2}}
  3. User vandalizes again
  4. You warn them again with {{uw-v3}}
  5. User vandalizes again
  6. You issue a last warning with {{uw-v4}}
  7. User vandalizes again
  8. You report them to AIV

Be sure to sign and date after each warning with ~~~~, to make it easier for administrators to see when the warnings were issued.

Hope that clears things up. I know it's a long process, but we want to give everyone enough chances to mend their ways before we block them. Thanks for your efforts at keeping vandals from Wikipedia.   • Sorry about that - I feel really stupid now. I am new to Wikipedia, to be honest, and when I saw the 'Alien' page, and noticed the annoying message there, I reverted it to the original. A minute later, I found it had been changed back to how it was before. I reverted it again. When this happened another time, I looked at the appropriate guidelines and sent one {{uw-v2}} message to the talk page of the offending IP address. I then looked at the 'Alien' page again, and found the message there again. This time, I simply reverted it, thinking that the 'vandal' hadn't had time to read the message yet. But it happened again, so I sent another message. And again, so I sent a final message. I realise now that someone else might have been reverting it, for all we know. Sorry again. It's no problem at all! I just wanted to make sure you knew the process; you don't need to be afraid to submit more reports in the future. While we're at it, since nobody has officially welcomed you yet, I thought I would give you some links you might find helpful as you edit Wikipedia.

Gif animation[edit]

Creating them is a bit complicated. You need to make many frames, and then assemble them to one animated gif file. I use a shareware program called "GIF Builder" (on the Mac), but I don't know the PC software to do this. Try reading wiki articles, and use Google - there's bound to be instructions somewhere... Chemistry Project (Yeast)[edit]

I am currently in the process of a very similar project for my A-Level Biology. I am investigating to see which substrate gives rise to the highest rate of respiration (out of Sucrose, Glucose, Fructose, Maltose and Galactose). I have found the optimum temperature is between 35°C to 40°C (308K to 313K), and that fructose is respired fastest initially. (at conc= 4% yeast, 3% Fructose).--Jdedmond 17:30, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The equation for alcoholic fermentation is C6H12O6 → 2C2H5OH + 2CO2
or in words: Glucose → 2Ethanol + 2Carbon Dioxide. You also may find the following helpful, this is what you've got coming if you do :A-Level Bio (but you can escape it if you only do it at AS): Fermentation (biochemistry)

I don’t believe anything has been decided yet. The cited link is a talk page regarding a larger Wikipedia Commons version they deleted. As regards the smaller version, malcontents with small-dick syndrom and nothing better to do seem to be meddling just to make waves. I think I’ve now established a clear fair use rational. Mrug2: I noted again that you placed one of my close-packing pyramids ( ) on your user page. I thought I might make sure you were aware of the variation shown at right. I think it’s more attractive looking because of its gold-colored spheres. And then, that could just be me. Please feel free to delete this sizable picture and this entry at your leisure.
