Speedy deletion of Boxbomb[edit]

A tag has been placed on Boxbomb requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Can you provide links to any reliable sources that discuss this band? That would help. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:29, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please read the notability guidelines for musicians and bands. As NawlinWiki just said, please provide references to reliable sources that can show that the band meets those guidelines. --Finngall talk 21:39, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Indyweek appears to be a reliable independent source, but the rest are either college newspapers or blogs -- those don't demonstrate notability. If you can find one more reliable independent source, I'll be willing to remove the speedy tag. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:52, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Stereo Subversion is still a blog. If you can't find a second reliable source to show notability, then perhaps the band isn't notable just yet. NawlinWiki (talk) 22:37, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The YES Weekly link will work -- please add that reference and the Indyweek reference to the article, and I'll remove the speedy tags. As far as your question about blogs, if the blog doesn't meet the standards of WP:WEB, it's not a reliable source. A blog's having interviewed a notable band doesn't make it notable. Speedy deletion of "Tragic hero records"[edit]

A page you created, Tragic hero records, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how it is important or significant, and thus why it should be included in an encyclopedia.
