Wikipedia Policies-Charles Darwin[edit]

Please note Wikipedia policy on speedy deletion CSD A7. Although this person is real, the person in itself has not done anything notable himself. If the person has done something notable, please place achievement on the main page and cite your references.Monkeytheboy (talk) 20:19, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion Procedures[edit]

Please do not delete a speedy deletion tag as it was placed for the reason cited. If you would like to dispute a speedy deletion tag on a page you've created, follow the directions that are noted on the tag. Monkeytheboy (talk) 20:13, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Charles Darwin[edit]

A tag has been placed on Charles Darwin (1758-1778) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Monkeytheboy (talk) 19:55, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You uploaded, File:Keith Dumbell.jpg, where you either stated or implied that you had permission of a third party to upload it; or that evidence of such permission would be provided on request.

Unless there's some record of that permission, it's harder to confirm if any given permission is genuine. Wikipedia currently needs the permission to be explicitly proven at the time of upload, and recorded in the OTRS permission queue, for this reason.

Please read Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission, which advises on how to confirm permissions you obtained from a third party.

It is also advisable to ask the third-party what source attribution they desire, as opposed to marking the image as having been "sent personally".

If permission is not confirmed, and recorded as detailed above, the media may have to be removed so that Wikipedia stays in compliance with copyright law and policy in some jurisdictions.

Your draft article, Draft:Keith Dumbell[edit]

Hello, Mpallen. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Keith Dumbell".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Snowycats (talk) 14:19, 9 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I now expanded the Keith Dumbell article and restored it to the article space. Thank you for the photo and starting the draft. Do you have any data about Dumbell's basic personal details? I cannot find anything about the names of his spouses or any children he might have had. No such user (talk) 12:36, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Copying licensed material requires attribution[edit]

Hi. I see in a recent addition to Palleniella you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Creative Commons Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. It's also required under the terms of the license. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this licensing requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa (talk) 00:30, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
