I recently reduced the logo size for these stations to 150px; someone named Box76 changed them back to 250px........that seems larger than what is traditional for wikipedia. It appears to me that this is an attempt to promote these stations - obviously not the intention of wikipedia. Would you please check this out? Thanks!user:Rudy2alan (talk)

They'd self-reverted on one of them, but I've adjusted the other two. I don't know if 150px is standard necessarily, but it's certainly closer to standard than 250px would be; those were huge. Mlaffs (talk) 17:57, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
Just a drive-by note, I typically use 200px for mine. The 680 News logo needs to be scaled down to 300x300, per image size limitations. If you have GIMP 2, it can easily be done there. Let me know if you don't, I do and can knock it out right quick if you wish. :) - NeutralhomerTalk • 18:09 on January 19, 2021 (UTC)
I am so not an image guy, at all. I tried including them when doing stub creation many, many years back, but I just couldn't wrap my head around it for some reason. So, feel free to have at it! Mlaffs (talk) 18:16, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
Not a problem. :) Give me a couple minutes, shouldn't take me long. :) - NeutralhomerTalk • 19:12 on January 19, 2021 (UTC)
Image:680News 2021.png <-THAT! took way longer than I thought it would. Had to create a new one because Commons wouldn't let me overwrite the old one with the smaller version. Not sure if it will be allowed. - NeutralhomerTalk • 19:25 on January 19, 2021 (UTC)

Page Move at WCSL

For some reason, my pings are not working anymore. I'm not getting the alerts for them so I don't know if they are going through. Anyway, could you take a look at this RM on the WCSL page, please? I support it, seems simple enough, but there is a page/history move involved, that's your department. I just want to make sure it's done right. If I can create the DAB over the redirect, which I can do, then I can knock that out myself. I just want to make sure I don't goof anything up. :) We've seen how many times that happens. :D - NeutralhomerTalk • 23:54 on January 21, 2021 (UTC)

No worries. There's nothing in the way at WCSL (AM) where the page would land, and it seems like a logical change to me too. It's set up as an RM, though, so let's let it run the seven days that process calls for. Assuming there's no disagreement – and I can't imagine there will be – I'm happy to swing back Wednesday and take care of the move. Mlaffs (talk) 16:07, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
OK, then I can take care of that. I thought it was something major. I'll have you take a double check when you get a moment (whenever, doesn't matter) and I'll knock it out right now. :) - NeutralhomerTalk • 02:29 on January 24, 2021 (UTC)
Quick question: I noticed you removed the Wikidata redirect box. Should that have been left there, since it still had the Wikidata code (ie: WCSL (Q105047777)) attached to that page? - NeutralhomerTalk • 06:27 on January 25, 2021 (UTC)
Nope, wasn't me. Mlaffs (talk) 01:47, 26 January 2021 (UTC)
You are correct, it wasn't. Never edit when sleepy. :) Well, maybe you can answer this. Should I revert and put the Wikidata code redirect box back until Wikimedia/Wikidata moves it? I've never encounted that before. - NeutralhomerTalk • 02:01 on January 26, 2021 (UTC)
I haven't either, for that matter. If you click through to Wikidate, though, looks like it's reflecting the current state here, so it must update automatically. I wouldn't worry about it. Mlaffs (talk) 02:31, 26 January 2021 (UTC)
Okie Dokie. It might have been because things were still populating in the system from when I updated other templates and what not and they just hadn't caught up with me. Who knows? :) As long as it works, I'm a happy camper. Thanks! :) - NeutralhomerTalk • 03:40 on January 26, 2021 (UTC)

Technical news

  • When blocking an IPv6 address with Twinkle, there is now a checkbox with the option to just block the /64 range. When doing so, you can still leave a block template on the initial, single IP address' talkpage.
  • When protecting a page with Twinkle, you can now add a note if doing so was in response to a request at WP:RfPP, and even link to the specific revision.
  • There have been a number of reported issues with Pending Changes. Most problems setting protection appear to have been resolved (phab:T273317) but other issues with autoaccepting edits persist (phab:T275322).
