MitoQ moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, MitoQ, needs extensive work to meet our standards.

The minimal information for a chemical compound is the full official chemical name, the CAS registry number, the reference to the papers in which the synthesis was reported, and, if possible, a drawing of the molecular structure. None of this information is present here--only papers that in turn give references to papers that have the data. But this information was in an earlier now deleted version, so it has been restored. It needs to also be incorporated as appropriate into the text. Nor can we refer vaguely to "patents"--there need to be specific references, at least to the key patents.

References to the therapy of human disease must additionally meet the requirements of WP:MEDRS. Claims to therapeutic possibiltles that have not yet even been tested are not appropriate. It's routine in press releases, of course.

WP is an encyclopedia , and gives related information and background through the use of internal links. A general discussion of mitochondria and their role in oxidative stress is best found in general articles on these subjects, not in articles on each individual compound of possible significance. This is different from press releases, where no background knowledge is assumed, and references to general sources are not customary.

The reason why WP strongly discourages paid editing by those associated with or working as PR agents for a company, is because such editors are normally accustomed to the writing of press releases, and find it exceptionally difficult to write acceptable encyclopedia articles. The only reasonably likely way to accomplish this is by starting it as a Draft. So, considering how much work would need to be done to make this an acceptable article, I'm moving it to Draft space.
