Userpage thing[edit]

Yeah... that's correct. You coding on your userpage is designed for Firefox, and the rounded corners are in fact "normal" (seeing 90-degree corners would actually be ABNORMAL if the same code was used). And I'm not sure what you mean by images not having backgrounds. -→Buchanan-Hermit/?! 03:19, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I moved the template to Template:User Readable Leet because it's a userbox. Is that okay with you? --Gray PorpoiseYour wish is my command! 22:30, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I do not understand. What did I do improperly? --Gray PorpoiseYour wish is my command! 22:42, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! I had already put the resulting redirect up for deletion and changed the userpages of those who had transcluded the template. --Gray PorpoiseYour wish is my command! 22:47, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:Trainz_Icon_Windows.PNG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Trainz_Icon_Windows.PNG. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Fair use images on userpages[edit]

Just FYI, fair use images aren't allowed on userpages, such as your subpage User:Red Pooka/Pooka Picturesque. I have taken the liberty to remove all such instances. Please see WP:FU#Policy #9 for more information. Thanks. --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 04:26, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

One more thing... any images of a video game or anything of the sort of copyrighted by the copyright holder. Just because you take the screenshot, it does not mean that you have the right to release it into public domain. Generally, these images can only be used when they are claimed under fair use. Any image claimed as fair use must have a fair use rationale and if any image is missing one, it is subject to deletion. Let me know if you have any questions. I have corrected the licensing for the fair use images that you have uploaded, but you'll need to add the rationale ASAP. You can view your uploaded files here. Thanks. --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 04:39, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Take it easy there my friend. Did you read my previous two comments? Just because you took a screenshot from a game, it does not mean you own the copyright. The owner of the game owns the copyright of the image. You are the source, they control the copyright, make sense? They are not your images. Since the images are copyrighted, they can only be used on Wikipedia under the claim of fair use. Fair use images aren't allowed on user subpages. It is that simple. I'll let you revert your changes to the subpage back to my version. Furthermore, I'd appreciate it if you retract you claim that I am vandalizing your page. Vandalism assumes there is a malicious intent. You have failed to assume good faith about my actions. Please try to be more civil in the future and don't make threats. Threats don't solve anything. --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 04:52, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I have been more than friendly with you so far, but I am starting to lose patience. You have responded with nothing but hostility towards me. Normally I wouldn't care as quite frankly, I have gotten used to that over the years being on the Internet. However, you are blatantly going against Wikipedia policy. You are also revert warring. You have almost completely ignored any dialog between the two of us. You have also failed to assume good faith. You are not contributing to the encyclopedia constructively.
Please take a minute and reexamine your actions. I don't get it. Reviewing your contribution history leads me to believe that you are a good editor. You have fought vandalism and you seem dedicated to the project. Now please take a minute and reread all of my comments on your page.
I have asked of you to do a few simple things. 1) Remove fair use images from your user pages. 2) Provide a fair use rationale for any of the fair use images that you have uploaded. Both of these are Wikipedia policy. I am a dedicated Wikipedia contributor and administrator and I will uphold policy. If you feel that I am wrong in my actions, all I ask is that you explain why. There is absolutely no reason to call me a vandal. I am not some newb to Wikipedia; I have been an editor for a year and a half and an administrator for over half a year. I initially gave you complete respect. All I ask if for you to do the same for me.
If anything, reread WP:FU#Policy.
Seriously, just remove the fair use images from your subpage, add a fair use rationale and everything will be fine.
Any further revert warring and I will ask for another administrator to intervene. This is a rather drastic choice, but you aren't leaving me little choice by failing to communicate and continuing to revert war. --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 07:46, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I came up with a rather simple compromise for our little dilemma. Hopefully you will find it agreeable. Instead of having the fair use images on your user page, a link will work. This allows you to mention which images that you have uploaded, while following our fair use policy. I have taken the initiative and made the change on your subpage. If you'll just create a fair use rationale for any fair use images that you have uploaded, our little situation will be solved. Have a good day. --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 09:11, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
AFAIK, there is no way to integrate the links into the gallery. As far as editing user subpages, some people are ok with it, others hate it. I tend to just take the initiative and do whatever needs to be done. I always make it a point to leave a note on the user's talk page explaining my actions. I know very well that adding those templates to the images may result in deletion. However, you can prevent deletion by adding a fair use rationale to each of the images. More info on fair use rationales is available at Help:Image_page#Fair_use_rationale. --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 22:20, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
