Overlinking and edit summaries[edit]

Hi - Thanks for trying to help improve the encyclopedia. I noticed many of your edits are adding links to everyday terms. Many of these are not ever clicked, and instead they compete with readers' attention. Please read MOS:OVERLINK for more details. I also noticed you don't leave edit summaries. Without one, the editors who watch these articles (like me) have to check to make sure the edit isn't vandalism. This takes time away from us being able to improve the encyclopedia. Also, sometimes the autogenerated edit summaries have an incorrect tag, such as with [this edit. It says it's "disambiguation tag added", but it's not - it's Wiki-linking. Including an edit summary will clarify what you are doing. Please see Help:Edit summary. Happy editing! TimTempleton (talk) (cont) 22:38, 14 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dear @Anachronist:, for Leonid Ptashka, I added two reliable sources on The Jerusalem Post and another website.

About User:MerliSter/sandbox, first reference is an article about him in Ynet focusing on him and his career and in my opinion we can consider it as significant coverage in relible sources. I added new reference (#2), a paragraph about him on The Jewish Week, that is introducing him as a ″Israeli contemporary music composer″. I also added other links, please check it out. I bleive I have created an article about a jazz pianist containing a short description, discography an awards. Both of articles are short descriptions and I don't prefer to write more about the subject. Because I prefer that articles be completed by contributions of other Wikipedia writers. like many other articles in Wikipedia. Looking forward for receiving your feedback. MerliSter (talk) 23:16, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Other than adding a citation, you have not addressed the other concerns. The article claims collaborations with Lenny Kravitz, Cindy Blackman, and Jack Dejohnette, but not a single one of the citations verifies those collaborations. One citation - http://www.jewishartsalon.com/2013/06/art-kibbutzs-first-residency.html/ - is a blank page. In its current state, this article fails WP:BLP policy, so it isn't yet ready for main space, particularly given the history of this topic on Wikipedia. It would need these problems fixed before it can be moved. Your preference that an article be completed by others is fine, but that isn't the same thing as expecting the community to clean up glaring errors that were left in it. You don't have to expand it, but you should address the concerns I raised, either by removing unverifiable claims, removing sources that have nothing to do with the prose, or finding sources to verify the claims. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:57, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Dear @Anachronist:, thank you for your guidance to create a principled article. I removed the dead link and his collaborations with notable artist has been covered by first source which is in Hebrew. It has been mentioned more notable artist but I just wrote 3 of them. Thanks. MerliSter (talk) 21:25, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Anachronist: After spending more that 7-8 hours for creating and improving the articlesU anothe user deleted the articles and blocked me! why I don't know !MerliSter (talk) 17

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or self-promoting in violation of the conflict of interest and notability guidelines.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  MER-C 14:26, 24 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@MER-C: I have advertised for what? what's your reasonable reason for blocking me? I was was involved with another admin about creating the articles! I don't understan why you have blocked me! MerliSter (talk) 17:26, 24 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Cut it out. It is highly likely that (1) you are not a new editor and (2) you tried to create Kobi Arad in return for undisclosed payments, just like the multitudes of other accounts that tried to create this article. MER-C 12:36, 26 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@MER-C: When I told I am a new user? If you look at my account you understand it's 3 months that I am joined to Wikipedia. I had an account in 2018 or 2019 but without even 1 edit, just a simple account. I can't remember its info. I'm a Jewish barista based in Kazakhstan. My parents was born in Israel. My goal is creating English Wikipedia page for Jewish or Israeli people in music industry. I really don't know what is my crime and why I have been blocked. Please convince me what I have did that was illegal. your last misled me!MerliSter (talk) 14:54, 26 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@MER-C: You have blocked me and don't answer to me???? It's your duty to reply me. Why you have blocked me? why I can't edit articles? How can you accuse me without any solid evidence???? I don't know you have confused me with whom.MerliSter (talk) 16:11, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I cannot tell you the additional red flags that led to the block to preserve operational security. If you want to be unblocked, please follow the unblock process above. MER-C 16:20, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@MER-C: I'm going to prove that you have confused me with someone else. I can take a selfie photo with my ID proof and a writing "this photo was taken for MER-C" and can upload that. let me know how can prove you that you are wrong? Make sure you are wrong. MerliSter (talk) 16:47, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Anachronist: can you tell me what's the matter? why I have been blocked? why he deleted my first article Leonid Ptashka that was a notable Israeli pianist??? I added to reliable sources from independent websites! I have advertised for whom???? why you didn't told me I'm advertising when I contacted you first time? when I asked this guy why you have blocked meU he told me "CUT IT OUT"!!!!!! He talked as though I have contacted him before!!! Is there someone here to tell me what happened?MerliSter (talk) 17:07, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As I answered on my talk page, Leonid Ptashka did not seem to meet any of the criteria in WP:MUSICBIO. The article also made no credible claim of notability. It has not been deleted, but rather moved to Draft:Leonid Ptashka for improvement, and should be submitted for review by an independent reviewer.

I don't what your connection may or may not be with the undisclosed paid editors who have been attempting to create an article on Kobi Arad over the years. For all I know, you may be Kobi Arad himself, or an associate. It does not matter. Now that you are blocked, you need to follow the instructions for appealing a block in your block message above, and especially read Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks carefully before attempting your appeal. If you do have a conflict of interest, it is best to be completely honest about it to make a successful appeal. I cannot override another administrator's action. All I can do is respond when you make an appeal. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:37, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Anachronist: 1 I'm sure that Leonid Ptashka is completely notable because I provided significant coverage in reliable independent websites. 2 If I would created an article for a Israel actor, you would tell me you're himself or an associate? 4 I was going to create articles only about Jewish or Israeli people. I don't know it was considered as having conflict of interest or not. 5 everything that I'm trying to say is I was blocked unjustly and instead of contributing in Wikipedia I'm spending my time just for a crime that I hadn't done. MerliSter (talk) 22:47, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If you create other articles, it might mean you are being paid by the subjects to write them, as has happened with Kobi Arad. If you have any association whatsoever with the subjects you write about, you must disclose that. You have been blocked because your activity led an administrator to suspect undisclosed paid editing, or at least a conflict of interest.
If you want to be unblocked, you need to follow the process, as described in your block message above. ~Anachronist (talk) 16:18, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I created an article about a well-known Russian- Israeli pianist. I repeat he is really notable enough to be in Wikipedia and has Russian and Hebrew Wikipedia page. after that I created an article for another Israeli-American pianist. I just saw his name in recent winner of a notable award and while I understood he is an Israeli, so I decided to choose him as my second subject for creating. After that another user blocked me. I don't know whats the solution, pleas let me know. Best Regards. MerliSter (talk) 19:56, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Per the discussion above, and, really, complaining about being blocked is not a reason for you to be unblocked. — Daniel Case (talk) 05:40, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You didn't read or understand Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks. You absolutely must do that before submitting an appeal to unblock. In your appeal, you also must address the reasons for your block. You were blocked for attempting to promote subjects. You must also disclose who is paying you. It isn't a problem to be paid to edit here, but you must disclose that, because you accepted a legally-binding agreement to do so when you created this account. ~Anachronist (talk) 14:48, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
