I am user:Sulmues and created this account simply with the purpose of requesting an unblock of user:Sulmues. I clearly stated that this user ID pertains to the same person as user:Sulmues. The only reason why this user ID was created was because I have lost the password to both User:Sulmues and the email attached to it (See compromised account). Please unblock this ID. As soon as Sulmues gets unblocked after two weeks, I will ask that this becomes my new ID, but can someone please tell me where do I ask for that? Thank you! I understand that I got blocked as user:Sulmues for edit-warring and I apologize for that. I promise to no longer edit-war. In addition I will respect the 1RR ban applied. Hopefully someone will unblock user:sulmues and transfer to this new account all my edits. 16:17, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

I find it hard to believe you forgot the password to the Sulmues' account after using it only six days ago. You'll also need to explain this account, which you created as well. Finally, please use the unblock template ({{unblock}}) to request a review of your block. TNXMan 17:26, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

I explained it over and over in IRC that I have deleted a spreadsheet with both passwords of my email and user id for user:sulmues. User:PacioliKPMG is not me, but just a colleague of mine, who uses the same computer: you may want to unblock him, but I don't take any responsibility over his edits. Decline reason:

There is no way this account is going to be unblocked while the block on your original account still stands. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:55, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Thoughts concerning this situation[edit]

I think you're over-complicating the situation. My advice is to:

  1. wait 2 weeks,
  2. create a new account,
  3. put {{User Alternate Acct|Sulmues}} on the user page.

Or in other words, I'm unconvinced admin intervention is required. PhilKnight (talk) 19:36, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that was actually my very first edit with this account. The second one was to notify that I had lost the password [1]. I am not causing imminent, damage and disruption to Wikipedia and there is no likelihood of future problems. What is the block for then? There is a 6 months ban for 1RR on Balkans, which I intend to respect. What else can I do? Makaperqafe (talk) 19:44, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
See User talk:Sulmues#Block Reset. You need to have Sulmues (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) unblocked before you can do anything more than post here. If you can convince others of the accuracy of what happened, and of the sincerity of your assurances that you will not edit war again, then there is a possibility that you may be able to return to editing sooner. You have already served one week of a two-week block, and it is unfortunate that the block was reset, although it was ill-advised in the extreme to post beyond this talk page, because that has been construed as block evasion. If you think you can make a good case to request a review of the resetting of the current block on Sulmues, then you could make it here, with a request that it be copied to WP:ANI – although most folks are likely to prefer to avoid the ensuing drama. --RexxS (talk) 20:39, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I am skeptical of the whole "I have forgotten my password" claim (particularly for an account that was used for 2+ years with 20k+ edits, and not used for only 6 days), and I suspect it to be a ploy to edit using an account with a clean block log. This user has expressed similar concerns about his block log and his desire to wipe it clean last time he got blocked [2]. I wonder, if this account is not unblocked, will the password for the Sulmues account be suddenly "found" two weeks from now when the block on Sulmues expires? Athenean (talk) 20:59, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
My password was a very complicated one and I kept it in a spreadsheet for security purposes, but I deleted that spreadsheet. I guess when Sulmues will be unblocked I'll do what Philknight suggests: open a new account, such as "Sulmuesi" and the Sulmues edits and Sulmues blocks will be transferred there? Makaperqafe (talk) 21:06, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
A wise editor who is already aware of WP:EVADE and WP:SOCK would have simply waited out the period of their block, and THEN created a new account and linked it to the original. With Sulmes' history on Wikipedia, the above description is wholly unbelievable. Forgetting an e-mail password and the Wikipedia password? Seriously? (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:38, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'll just wait for a couple of weeks and then create a new account. Bwilkins I don't get your point: are you suggesting that I am not wise enough? Would you suggest that I act differently from what PhilKnight advised above? Makaperqafe (talk) 12:56, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
