Your username[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (MANTA Mui Ne) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.

Please forgive: 1. The silence on 'Development of new national sport of sailing in Vietnam', while,

  • Distracted by land-grab mudslides which nearly buried Vietnam's only sailing school (https://vimeo.com/72533622 password: manta - video to go out with press release soon, after review by my 73 year old Vietnamese lawyer).
  • The sail trained fishermen had to run the school (with appropriate training to ensure international standards of sailing and safety), and i had to (i) take an 8 week intensive International Olympic Committee (IOC) scholarship to draw the national sport of sailing for Vietnam (including kiteboarding, windsurfing, dinghy and keelboat sailing), (ii) advise Vice Minister of Sport on 'all issues of sailing worldwide' at International Sailing Federation (ISAF) meetings in Dublin, November 2012, and (iii) deliver the national plan at the 'International Scientific Sports Conference, Hanoi, 21 November 2012, before i could return to check on my MANTA staff an the school', and (iv) go out with mates to celebrate my 50th birthday.
  • Now awaiting official confirmation and guidelines to deliver Vietnam's first IOC funded Level 1 Technical Course for Coaches, for sailing, end of November 2013, as possible. This is with an extra dollop of funding to Vietnam with my name on, offered in Febuary 2013, after Vietnam asked for Level 4 training, and i did not know how to manage Level 1,2 and 3 first. Vietnam, ISAF and IOC are just aligning a few details first, and i continue to help where i can.

2a. The fact I did not know how to resolve/escape the conflict of interest issue.(As director of MANTA, Vietnam's only sailing school and Vietnam's sailing manager. I seriously wish i could pass all to someone else and sell the school but it's my duty as nobody else is yet qualified. It is a PhD question on what has held back sailing development in Vietnam).

2b. I was short on time to understand/address the corrections recommended.

2c. I am an IT dinosaur.

Many thanks for your time on this, and for watching the video :) Totally understand the sailing development / MANTA's page had to close. Let me know if any questions come up on this issue of sailing in Vietnam. Happy to answer immediately (email: juliashaw2@gmail.com).

Best wishes, Julia MANTA Mui Ne (talk) 02:27, 10 September 2013 (UTC)MANTA Mui Ne[reply]
