Jack Sharpe[edit]

Oh, also...When you clean up things like that, it pays to have a quick look at what links here in the toolbox in case there are incoming links that should go to the new page. I found a couple of albums (Million Seller Songs & Two Time Winners) that listed "So Rare" and credited the wrong Sharpe.--ClubOranje^T 11:20, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Birth & death dates, Carl Ravazza[edit]

You shouldn't get a horrible feeling, but yes, you missed something—please see WP:STRONGNAT, which is a small section on the the same Manual of Style page that you mentioned. Carl Ravazza was quite clearly American, while Churchill and Darwin were not. Well, Churchill was an honorary US citizen, but that is certainly not sufficient cause to change date formats. It takes a while to find all these little parts of all the style guides, so don't feel bad; I've been at this for years, and there are still occasions where I stumble upon, or have pointed out to me, an obscure piece of guidance. Tommy Overstreet edits[edit]

Thanks for the corrections and additions to this article! I don't know why I got the authorship of the songs he wrote for Overstreet wrong; I must have been looking at some source that had it wrong. "Softly Whispering"[edit]

Thanks for your note, the poparchives site still has the song, as by Farnham & Durbin. It charted from 11 March 1972 (see 1) to 10 June (2). Is this version actually the one covered by The Congregation?

If you check the debut entry at 1, you'll also see F & D at No. 39 and again at No. 40 with "Baby Without You". If there was a transcription error by the compiler, it may take a while for poparchives to be fixed. I dare say archived copies will be around for years. As for the WP article on Together, I'm still searching to see whether I can find any other sources for a 2nd F & D single.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 13:18, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have made a search for other sources and agree that no reliable source has F & D recording a second duet single as "Softly Whispering I Love You". Despite The Congregation's version being released & charting in UK in 1971 it could still chart in Australia from March to June 1972. The best explanation is a transcription error at poparchives with Farnham & Durbin duplicated for two adjacent positions on the 11 March chart. Subsequent weeks' charts transferred that error.

I thank you for alerting me to my error on wikipedia based on that source. I have deleted the statement from wikipedia entries at Together and "Softly Whispering I Love You".

As an aside, I have often used poparchives both for Go-Set charts and for "Where Did They Get That Song?" material and I am impressed by your work there: congratulations on maintaining a fine standard and useful resource for Australian music.
