AfD Nomination: Sonic: The Fated Hour[edit]

I've nominated the article Sonic: The Fated Hour for deletion under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Sonic: The Fated Hour satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I have explained why in the nomination space (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sonic: The Fated Hour. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of Sonic: The Fated Hour during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion. Hbdragon88 20:17, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

lol moderator[edit]

I only wish I as an administrator/sysop. Nope. I'm just an ordinary Wikipedian, just like you. Hbdragon88 22:54, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Prestige Class[edit]

.*waves* Did you finally work out what you were doing with the template? It took me a while too, actually, although I don't think my edit summories were quite so amusing. I thought I should let you know I removed duelist from the list since it's still a red link. If all the class from this list were added I think the page might be just a little too long. Morgrim 15:21, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Right, saw you'd changed the link. I look forwards to seeing what you do with the duelist article, and I added it to my WIP template. Morgrim 02:25, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sadly, I haven't done very much with it... Is it still there? If so, has anybody else picked up where I left off? --Luigifan 16:22, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Spacing out[edit]

I am curious why you are adding spaces and a bot is taking them out. Ideas? ... aa:talk 05:00, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Because it's proper grammar to double space after every period, exclamation mark, or question mark. Actually, that goes for whenever you end a sentence, unless it starts a new line (by which I mean hitting the Enter key, not the limits of the computer monitor,) or if it starts a new paragraph. Why those bots don't have proper grammar within their programming, I have no clue... --Luigifan 20:04, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

See Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style_archive_(spaces_after_a_full_stop/period). It doesn't matter in the end, but note that double spacing after a period is a North American practice. ColourBurst 05:28, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

edit content[edit]

Hello, Luigifan. I noticed your changes to Candidiasis [1]. Thanks for contributing here. I was wondering why you made so many edits to the document, rather than encapsulating all the changes in a single edit. It makes it easier to track what's been changed when more changes are committed per single edit. Also, I want to thank you ver much for using clear edit summaries. That bit saves me a lot of time when I am trying to go over a large list of changes. Thanks again for contributing (Candidiasis is unfortunately one of my favorite subjects). ... aa:talk 05:36, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I made so many edits because I kept forgetting minor details! I know, it's a bit embarrassing, huh? Hopefully my contributions page isn't too cluttered! :p --Luigifan 20:00, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And, I'm currently doing a science project on Candidiasis, or, rather, the systemic version, so I was spending a lot of time at the page.
I've rephrased you're paragraph on Candidiasis so that it's not touting a controversial point of view that much. Now it may be touting the scepticist point of view too much :). If you think so go ahead and try to find a middle ground. --Cyhawk 21:08, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, it looks excellent. --Luigifan 01:45, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate the article/Marioween Discussion[edit]

But I'm not entirely sure it should be on Wikipedia, since the game isn't out yet. It's one thing to put an official game up on Wikipedia before it's release, but a fangame? Wikipedia likes having proof that something is notable. And while certainly the game is notable to you now, to a large portion of planet earth, it unfortunately is not. Should I ever get the game out and it gains enough popularity, perhaps then it'll deserve it's own article, but right now? I don't think it does, sorry. BlazeHedgehog 00:03, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Did you like the additions to the storyline that I proposed? (Personally, I think it would be interesting to bring back the Grand Battle Kukku the 15th and the Battle Bird Army, or to incorporate Mammoth Mogul into the game...) I still have the article on Microsoft Word, but I won't put it up, with respect to your opinions. --Luigifan 01:03, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I really have my own plans for the plot and have had for a very, very long time. About MarioWeen: Read the manual. There's a move in there I describe with the bunny ears that helps solve the problem in the Ghost House. BlazeHedgehog 20:04, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Do your own plans have anything to do with Dracula? --Luigifan 02:01, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That move works with Mario with the Bunny Ears, but not for Luigi! --Luigifan 21:56, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Are you sure you have the latest version (1.04)? MWNDX.exe's "last modified" date should be October 11th, 2005. I just booted up MarioWeen and tried it, and 1.04 fixes the spring bug, I believe. BlazeHedgehog 00:05, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yeah, and: To get the real ending, either set your computer's clock to October 31st, or just wait for it to happen legitimately. There's other holidays that give you secret levels, too (Christmas and April fools). BlazeHedgehog 00:24, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
October 31st? I KNEW IT!!!!!! The evil castle arises on Halloween night, so that's when Mario can enter and confront the Count!!!! --Luigifan 01:46, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I just got the real ending, and, I have to say, I have no clue what it's supposed to mean. Where the heck is Princess Peach? How the heck did Luigi end up in the Death Egg? And, what the heck is Able Juice? Is this just because I beat the game with Luigi? What the heck is going on?!? --Luigifan 02:01, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reposting/"Reviving" deleted content[edit]

Please note that reposting or "reviving" (as you called it) deleted articles after they have gone through the Articles for Deletion process will be speedily deleted. --Wafulz 15:57, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Judging from your posts on the AfD discussion last time, I think you might be unclear about what does and does not belong on Wikipedia. Every article on the encyclopedia has to meet a few basic policies, ie verifiability, no original research, neutrality, What Wikipedia is not, etc. For specific things like websites, video games, or people, we have actual guidelines developed. In the case of Sonic: The Fated Hour, we use WP:SOFTWARE to help us judge whether or not the game will be able to meet the above policies. Typically, fan games and game mods need to be extraordinarily popular, or they have to have several non-trivial third party publishings about them, like a gaming magazine writing a full article on it. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. --Wafulz 16:04, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism warnings[edit]

Warning vandals is a good thing, but comments like this are utterly inappropriate. Never, ever, make threats—even in jest. This is especially important when dealing with AOL IP addresses; the person reading your message is almost certainly someone other than its intended recipient. Kirill Lokshin 03:07, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry about it Luigifan. I got EXACTLY the same thing. But the truth is there. You can't keep saying the same thing as vandals ignore it and laugh at it. I'm with Luigifan on this one. You must be Zero-Tolerance and you must show it! You must fight aggression with aggression. If you don't come down hard enough on them anarchy will soon take over. MightyKombat 14:46, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uh, thanks? --Luigifan 22:03, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't mention it. Either way, they tell us "Be civil to vandals" but are vandals civil? There's a point admins are ADAMANT on ignoring. Sometimes I wonder whether to continue fighitng vandalism incase I do something that "hurts the precious vandals' feelings" MightyKombat 15:41, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AFD for MarioWeen[edit]

I'm not blind, man. BlazeHedgehog 00:23, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dude, it's 17 keep to 11 delete (and a couple of those deletes are "weak deletes", at that, which means it's probably more like... 17 keep to 10 delete.). It's kind of close, but I'm not really sweating bullets or anything. BlazeHedgehog 13:21, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warning[edit]

Please refrain from vandalising the user pages of other users, or making changes which the user indicates are unhelpful. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Andre (talk) 01:25, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I hated to do it, but me, Blaze, and several others were all clamoring for you to come to your senses. Unfortunately, you did not. --Luigifan 01:27, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism is not a "wake-up call." Additionally, please direct correspondence to my talk page or the AFD itself, not my user page. Andre (talk) 01:41, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think you understand how our deletion policy works. I do not have to respond specifically to all criticisms, nor am I able to de-list an AFD if I am convinced that it was a bad idea (which I am not). "Getting my attention" was not necessary, and vandalism is certainly not the proper route to do so. If you are going to do anything rash, it will only get you blocked. I suggest you listen to your friend BlazeHedgehog and allow the AFD to take its course. Andre (talk) 02:03, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop editing my user page. Use the talk page. Andre (talk) 02:07, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What's that going to accomplish? You refuse to listen to him. If you're a bigot, I have to burst your bubble, because I have little tolerance for sin. As for the eruption on the AFD, yes, that was purely my fault. I let myself get riled up and explode, and it just made me look like a barbarian. >_< But deafening yourself to the opinion of others is inexcusable. If you continue to give Blaze a hard time, you are going to regret it. --Luigifan 02:11, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I do not believe the page is notable. I believe many fangames are similarly non-notable. I do not see how this makes me a bigot. Andre (talk) 02:18, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If this isn't notable, I have no clue what is. This is one of the most popular fangames in existence, on par with, if not better than, Estel's When Tails Gets Bored. If you believe that Marioween isn't notable, then you cannot enjoy fangames. I fail to see how you cannot realize this. --Luigifan 02:22, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Are you for real? Andre (talk) 03:30, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The Ninja of Peace? There's no sockpuppetry going on, it's still the same username. It's more like a voluntary split personality. You should notice that I'm much more calm and introspective as the Ninja of Peace. --Luigifan 11:04, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's not what I mean. I mean, are you serious? Are you taking this seriously? Andre (talk) 03:31, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, yes. Quite seriously. The way of the ninja is stealth... He strikes when his foe least expects it... However, as you seem to have dropped out of the discussion, punishing your bigotry would be a moot cause at the moment. Therefore, I have no reason to pursue you. --Luigifan 12:24, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent behaviour[edit]

You've asked me to help out on a deletion discussion. I'm taking a look through it now. However, your behaviour has been absolutely appalling. Others are entitled to their opinions- just because you disagree doesn't mean that you need to give them a "wake up call." You're lucky you haven't been blocked for incivility and personal threats. I recommend you just step aside from the discussion entirely. Also, cut back on the ninja stuff. It's making you look quite ridiculous- combined with your absolute rudeness and arrogance towards others, you're hurting your case more than you're helping it. --Wafulz 17:34, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The "ninja stuff" was my way of realizing that I had been a barbarian, and changing my tune in order to better present my case. Yes, maybe I was a bit arrogant as the Ninja of Peace, but rude? I don't see how. --Luigifan 12:03, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alrighty[edit]

I'm going to be blunt with you: if you continue with your current behavior, you will be blocked. If you wish to contribute the right way, please keep the following in mind:

  • Always be civil. Always. No matter how upset you get, keep a cool head.
  • Do not vandalise other people's pages, especially over content dispute, i.e., someone else's listing of an article on AFD.
  • Wikipedia is not a chat room. Trying to ask how other people which characters they use in Super Smash Brothers is un-encyclopedic and does not belong here.
  • If articles are deleted, you cannot re-create them. I can't stress this enough. Even if you create it again, it will be deleted. Continuing to add it will result in it being salted.
  • Edit wars happen, and using offensive edit summaries will not help.
  • Just because you think a fangame is great doesn't mean it is. If you disagree with Andre on it, fine, but that gives you no right to blatently insult him on your userpage.
  • Your "Ninja of Peace" spiel is getting out of hand, and, quite frankly, is disturbing to those of us who have dealt with vandals in the past. It's being interpreted as threatening because it truly is.

I don't wish to make you angry or upset you in any way, but you've got to understand that Wikipedia has rules. If you keep ignoring them the way you have been, you will be blocked. --172.193.88.79 01:47, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Changing other peoples' comments[edit]

Hi Luigifan

You changed comments from someone else here and made them say things the writer (me) didn't mean them to say.

Why? ЯEDVERS 08:42, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was simply doing things like fixing spelling or the grammar. --Luigifan 12:07, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As a rule, refrain from editing others' comments without their permission. Though it may appear helpful to correct typing errors, grammar, etc., please do not go out of your way to bring talk pages to publishing standards, since it is not terribly productive and will tend to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. For more details, see Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. You also added wikilinks, for instance linking my use of the word "test" with the policy WP:POINT. That was something I certainly didn't mean. Please don't do this again. Thanks ЯEDVERS 12:37, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please remember to avoid personal attacks and incivility at all times, including edit summaries. This is particularly true of the following edits:

Thanks. --Wafulz 04:59, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to make personal attacks on other people, you will be blocked for disruption. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Thank you. This is referring to the personally insulting edit summaries you made recently. Timkovski 12:39, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please use the preview button[edit]

I would like to thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. However, it is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Eggman[edit]

Yo luigifan, just to let you know, "Eggman" is no longer a nickname. It may not be his "real" name, but now it's his "official" name. And it's all supported by these links, which are of all the recent Sonic games: http://www.sega.com/gamesite/sonicnext/sonicnext_full/index.php http://www.sega.com/gamesite/sonicheroes/content.html http://www.sega.com/gamesite/shadow/base.html http://www.sega.com/gamesite/sonicriders/ 65.100.167.180 03:05, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, "Eggman" is still a nickname for the character, even though everybody in the series calls him "Dr. Eggman", including Eggman himself; he's virtually never referred to by his actual name (Dr. Ivo Robotnik) these days. It's very similar to the fact that everybody refers to Miles "Tails" Prower as simply "Tails", including Tails himself. Nobody refers to him by his actual name (e. g. Miles Prower) in the series. So, yes, "Eggman" has become the official name, but it's still technically just a nickname.

Katana[edit]

Your recent edit to the Katana article is somewhat questionable, as is its reasoning. The inclusion of the videos into the article does not add any 'encyclopaedic' information. It shows a single unsubstantiated and misconstrued experiment. You may see other information of the talk page of the article. I would ask you to retract that edit, as it has been discussed and ultimately found to be unsuitable, unscientific, uninformative, and unencyclopaedic. - xiliquiernTalk 21:24, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

For example, you added the line "(This is mainly because Trudeau's critics are all ignorant/prejudiced LIARS!!!!!)" to the Kevin Trudeau entry. See here [4]. I note that you even labeled the change as, "I know this is going to be reverted, but it needs to be said." So you obviously knew what you were doing was vandalism. If you have something to say, say it articulately on the talk page, not by vandalism. Thank you. -- HiEv 07:34, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article talk pages are not supposed to be used for chatting, but for collaborating on articles (WP:NOT, WP:TALK). The reference desk is more suited to asking questions. -- Consumed Crustacean (talk) 23:08, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The reference desk is a place to ask questions to the users of Wikipedia. Your questions there will not be removed.Shui9 12:37, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, perhaps we should have reference desks for specific topics? For example, say, Wikipedia:Reference desk/Sonic the Hedgehog series, or Wikipedia:Reference desk/Star Wars series? I think it might be a good idea... --Luigifan 14:15, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please be reminded that talk pages exist to discuss the associated article, not the subject of the article. Wikipedia is not a help desk for your personal issues. AecisBrievenbus 12:47, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The point of that was the "talk pages do not equal forums" policy. Since reference desks do equal forums, we could post speculation there without causing any harm. --Luigifan 23:49, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Order of the Stick character descriptions[edit]

I removed your additions to the OotS characters as "creep" because they're meant to be an essential summary of the character, with a more full description given on the character pages. Right now, they're pretty concise, and if everyone added what they thought was important, we would get a much larger summary (and I'd call the process "creep" - comparable to "feature creep" in software). The other issue is that both additions have issues with verifiability, which is a problem on Wikipedia. --GargoyleMT 14:59, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I do agree, but the trivia section could exist, for things that cannot be integrated into the rest of the article. That's why I keep reverting it; how am I supposed to mention the resemblance in the main body of the article? I can't, not without going down side roads and detracting from the article's overall quality. So, the factoid has to remain separate. --Luigifan 23:47, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As stated by another user who reverted it. A resemblance is an opinion. -Sukecchi 23:53, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe so, but it doesn't take much imagination to see it... --Luigifan 23:57, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Apparently, nobody laughed at my joke... --Luigifan 23:58, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are clearly not a stupid person, so I apologize in advance if this comes across as condescending. It is not my wish to offend.

Resemblances between Kirlia and Cosmo, and between any other fictional characters, are a matter of opinion. As opinion, it is original research, which violates Wikipedia policy, and thus has no place in Wikipedia articles. Your justification that the resemblance is "pretty obvious" or "doesn't take much imagination" to see is tantamount to asking other editors to insert original research into the article. Thus, it is highly inappropriate for you to be repeatedly reinserting the resemblance trivia. Please stop.

Just in case you're not familiar with Wikipedia policy regarding this matter, please see WP:OR and WP:NOT.

As for whether there's any other place to mention the resemblance, in fact there is: Bulbapedia. Wikipedia, however, is unfortunately not an appropriate place to include such information. Bhamv 12:55, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've started a discussion topic at Talk:Kirlia in an effort to stop the edit warring. Please, let's all refrain from editing the articles until we come to a conclusion there. Bhamv 11:51, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kevin Trudeau article[edit]

I have again removed the commentary you added into the Kevin Trudeau article. I've read the book and even have it saved as a PDF file. You addition is nothing more than your own opinion and boils down to personal commentary. If you review the history you'll also find other editors have removed it again and again. If you wish to discuss its inclusion into the article you may do so in the discussion section so long as you can adequately provide reason for it. Given your past vandalism to the article I would consider taking my advice. TheDevilYouKnow 20:28, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. I thought you were another one of those users who had been hired/brainwashed by the pharmaceutical industry to vandalize this article -- hey, I wouldn't put it past them to try a scheme like that, in order to discredit Trudeau's ideas! Anyway, I didn't realize that you had actually read the book! As for me, well, it's been a long time since I last read it, so my memory may be a bit rusty... but I do believe in Kevin Trudeau's cause, and will fight hard to stand up for him whenever possible! --Luigifan 20:53, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Believe what you wish. However, anyone in their right mind with a little study and research could tell that Trudeau (and his sources) are completely full of it. Read through some analysis of his infomercials sometime. Very enlightening and you can't help but chuckle at his utter ignorance. TheDevilYouKnow 01:53, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You mean the ones written by paid servants of the pharmaceutical industry, who want to debunk Kevin Trudeau because they know that he is telling the truth, and that the truth could destroy them? Your username suits you well -- it's evident that you've fallen hook, line, and sinker for the pharmaceutical industry's brainwashing campaigns!!!! --Luigifan 02:11, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No I'm talking about things that any simple-minded D average high school biology student (like my neighbor's kid) would know is utter nonsense. In first Natural Cures infomercial (A Closer Look) he stated that not having enough acid in your stomach would cause undigested food to produce gas and that's what causes heartburn. Oh and a single antacid tablet gets rid of ALL the acid so your brain tells your stomach to produce more acid. A quick trip to his website revealed an entirely different cause. Stomach acid irritating the lining of the esophagus. Vitamin E vs Herparin? He claims in his infomercial that his book reveals the secret ingredients in food not listed on the packaging. What you actually get is his (not really it's actually quite OOOOOOOLD) conspiracy that lobbyists have convinced TPTB to allow them to be listed as Natural and Artificial flavors (despite no evidence what-so-ever)!?! TheDevilYouKnow 22:59, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly, what any simple-minded D average high school biology student could easily be deluded into believing to be utter nonsense. And there is evidence, it's just hidden from the public by the pharmaceutical industry's allies in the government. Do you really think they'd allow the truth to be found out so easily? The truth would destroy them, to the benefeit of the entire world -- which is why God is on Kevin Trudeau's side. If you doubt that, just look at what he used to be, what he is now, and his great success at spreading the word on his natural cures -- do you really think that's possible without divine assistance? God is using Kevin Truedeau to destroy the Anti-Christ, and it just so happens that that the Anti-Christ is Corporate America!!! Apparently, the lies of the pharmaceutical industry have dug their way into the deepest parts of your mind. --Luigifan 23:13, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Was that sarcasm? -- Consumed Crustacean (talk) 23:34, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, I was being perfectly honest with my opinions. Kevin Trudeau will defeat the pharmaceutical industry; nature will emerge triumphant over science, and God will emerge triumphant over sin, and all mankind will rejoice at the eradication of disease, which has been delayed for so long. --Luigifan 23:41, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The reason your edit has been reverted is that predators you listed are not found in the UK which is where the arguments (and most of that article) are based. Man with two legs 21:03, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't realize that, but I was actually referring to some pro-fox-hunting vandalism. --Luigifan 22:36, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's Wikipedia! Man with two legs 06:35, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There are no wild wolves in the UK although there is talk of reintroducing them. And foxes are everywhere; even in London there are about 10,000 of them. In practice huge numbers are culled as a form of pest control but hunting it is a highly politcal issue for reasons that don't make a lot of sense. Man with two legs 06:46, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for experimenting with the page Seven virtues, and for reverting your edits. That wasn't actually an "experiment". I was simply bumping the page up to the top of my watchlist. --Luigifan 15:51, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The item which I removed and you restored contains a mixture of cryptic neologisms ("pseudo-literature"? "sub-literature"?) and non-sequiturs (what on earth does savoir-faire have to do with the topic?). As a result, I concluded the anonymous author was looking to pick a fight with indignant fanwriters and fanfic readers. Thus, I feel it qualified as a troll, and should be removed. Why do you differ? --Orange Mike 18:22, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just because not everybody knows what "pseudo", "sub", or "savoir-faire" mean doesn't mean that it's wrong to include them, although they certainly ought to be explained (for example, how is the average layperson supposed to figure out that "psuedo" means "false"?) The guy did bother to write his comment with good grammar and manners (aside for a few words that would be more appropriate in a MENSA discussion), so I think he was honestly trying to voice an opinion, not to start a flamewar. Usually, people who want to cause trouble act like noobs on purpose, but this guy showed himself to be above that level. --Luigifan 23:53, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BlazeHedgehog[edit]

There are a couple ways to get ahold of him besides using his talk page. The first method is Special:Emailuser/BlazeHedgehog. If Blaze has his email in his profile, this should work. Failing that, you can contact him through edit summaries that he's likely to read (such as those reverting his edits). This isn't likely to work because Blaze has only made 11 edits in the last 6 months. Failing that, just give up. Blaze knows how to use his user talk page. If doesn't reply to new messages, but continues editing then he's ignoring it.

Now, regardless, your comment on the Sonic'06 talk page is in violation of the WP:TALK guidelines. –Gunslinger47 00:00, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your use of "noob" in this context is a pejorative, and thus qualifies under WP:NPA as an epithet. Sonicrules might be deserving of your scorn, but please be careful to follow the polices and guidelines yourself. Just a friendly reminder. :) –Gunslinger47 20:31, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Humanoid animals[edit]

Just to let you know, that category is already under Category:Sonic the Hedgehog characters, so all articles in that already belong to the category. Adding it is redundant. TTN 15:58, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not all of the characters in the Sonic the Hedgehog series are humanoid animals. Doctor Eggman and Chris Thorndyke, for example are both humans; while humans are technically members of the animal kingdom, the humanoid shape is their natural body shape, so humans themselves do not fit in the category. Metal Sonic also could not be included, as it (or he, if you prefer to use that pronoun) is a robot, and therefore is not an organic being. Two more examples are Black Doom and Cosmo, both of whom are aliens with no readily apparent connection to Earth's animal kingdom (indeed, Cosmo could be likened more to a plant!) Therefore, they could not be considered to be animal-like beings. In short, while many (if not most) of the characters in the Sonic the Hedgehog series [across all media] are humanoid animals, there are exceptions who should not be automatically included in the category just because the series as a whole is. --Luigifan 16:08, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You really should bother with a few exceptions out of a whole category. The point is organization, not to be that exact. TTN 16:13, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just out of curiosity, did you make a typing error? Because, to be honest, that last statement of yours is a bit self-contradictory. --Luigifan 16:15, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
How exactly? There is no need to worry about a few exceptions because the whole point is for organization. We don't need to fill a category with articles that can easily fit in a sub category just because a couple don't fit. TTN 16:18, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A good read for you would be Wikipedia:Categorization and subcategories. These don't fit any of the examples there. So, we either just categorize them independently or we do them as a whole and ignore the exceptions. TTN 16:24, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I don't know, the fact that you've only made edits to pages that past incarnations of Sonic Rules were involved with. The fact that your userpage is made up of one sentence which is very familiar, making it all seem strikingly similar to the userpages of past incarnations of Sonic Rules. Michael Mad 19:56, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Me, I noticed that his grammar was very similar to SonicRules, so I took a wild guess and suspected that this was another new name/old vandal trying to duck a block. --Luigifan 12:42, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We hope to be ready. Perhaps next time he'll act smarter and actually try to pretend that he's not Sonic Rules. Michael Mad 12:17, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Judging by his past performances, I doubt it. This guy shames the name of Sonic... --Luigifan 15:15, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, e-mail him and tell him he ain't got a chance in hell next time. Sure, it might not work, but knowing you it'll deal him a good blow. MightyKombat 16:21, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh yes and sorry about the BAD grammar, it's not my fault, I have the most USELESS, DISOBEDIENT and ANNOYING keyboard in Britain. It keeps missing out letters and even WORDS when you don't want it to. I have to practically HAMMER some keys down! Usually I'm very eloquent in my speech. See? SonicRules wouldn't use the word "Eloquent", would he? MightyKombat 16:47, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see. I'm sorry I snapped at you; my keyboard has the same problem at times!!! So, yeah, I can understand that you don't misspell things on purpose. --Luigifan 16:53, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Of course and if I do it's my keyboard's fault. And also I use big words like, say, Antidisestablishmentarianism and eloquent and I doubt SonicRules knows any words that are more than 3 letters long. Luigifan you have a friend in me. MightyKombat 17:10, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it seems that our "master of disquise" is back, now going by the name, Crash Bandicoot Fan. This incarnation of Sonic Rules actually went to my talk page and said "I know you re depressed about Sonicrules so about you let me help you battle him". What a fool. Michael Mad 17:42, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why is it they can't think of clever or less obtrusive names? It reminds me of a long war I had with a guy who, everytime I nailed him , changed his name to something EQUALLY obvious. MightyKombat 18:18, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I'm guessing it's because they're stupid, which isn't very hard to believe after seeing Sonic Rules' grammar. Michael Mad 20:46, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aye. I agree with you on that one Mike, I know I'm not being civil to vandals but jeez they're the sort of morons who spend most of their school time flinging pencils at one another, jumping on tables and making retrded monkey noises. MightyKombat 21:07, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. Anyway, this Crash Bandicoot Fan has only made two edits today, but looking over the lists of contributions from past sock puppets of Sonic Rules, he'll probably be making more edits in about two hours. Michael Mad 21:22, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Right. Be on the ready and keep a GOOD eye on your Watchlist incase he makes a move. MightyKombat 23:04, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it's gone past midnight here in Ireland, so I best be going ot bed, I can't stop him while I sleep, so maybe you, or perhaps one of my American allies, could go on the lookout for him. So far he has made no contributions in the last few hours, but by tomorrow, he'll probably have made some edits. 23:23, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Oh, you're Irish? Hey, what do you know, I'm Irish, too! Well, descended from the Irish, anyway; my great-grandmother came to America some time ago. How are things going at the Emerald Isle? --Luigifan 12:41, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm English. British English, rather. Just an FYI MightyKombat 12:43, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Hi and how ya doing?[edit]

Just wanted to ask a quick question before they (The admins) delete this in accordance to the whole "Wikipedia is not a Chatroom" thing.

Whats your E-mail? And do you have an MSN? It's easier to talk this way than via Wiki's talk pages eh? Hit me back! MightyKombat 22:06, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My e-mail address is luigifan@verizon.net (apparently, I was lucky enough to be the first person to try to register for an e-mail address as "Luigifan" at Verizon,) but I check it only once in a blue moon... And, why would the admins delete a user page (or user talk page?) Sure, I wouldn't be surprised if this thing got archived, but deleted? I honestly don't see why. You'll notice that the talk pages of redirects are often left standing (cases in point are Talk:Krystal (Star Fox) and Talk:Black Doom.) Even the talk pages of trolls are still around, despite containing nothing more than the vandal warnings [which were obviously ignored by the vandal, but that's besides the point.] So, why would a [legitimate] Wikipedia user's talk page be deleted? --Luigifan 14:35, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, actually I meant they might delee this little paragraph rather than the whole page.

Also, I di actually mean MSN Messenger but thanks anyway kid. MightyKombat 19:51, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Archives[edit]

Do user talk pages get archived? I've noticed that this talk page has become rather... large [to put it mildly...], so I think that it may be time to make an archive here. --Luigifan 14:39, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You archive them yourself, usually by placing the previous info in a place such as [[User talk:Luiginfan/(name of archive)]]. Have a nice day. --Izno 03:38, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wouldn't that require moving the article? I'm not entirely sure how that works. --Luigifan 12:29, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Six years later, it's finally done. I do wonder how I didn't realize how to do this before. It was really easy. --Luigifan (talk) 17:25, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Plea for correction[edit]

Could you check up and correct grammar and style of the short article Most Holy Trinity Church, Fulnek? Thank you in advance --PAD 17:56, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is the article correct now? You have made some changes, but not removed the label about the need of copy editing -- Can I delete it now? --PAD 12:36, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I think that the label can be removed, although the article is a stub, and ought to be labeled as such. I'll go do it now. --Luigifan 13:27, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That is not a legitimate reason to edit an article. It just strains the servers further. Please refrain in the future. --Orange Mike 18:34, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"Strains the servers"? What do you mean by that? --Luigifan 00:01, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Each change in an article is recorded, and the more changes that are made, the more data must be recorded. Thus, any frivolous edits burden the system unnecessarily and add to the cost of maintaining the entire project. --Orange Mike 21:41, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm serious here. I don't have any intention of vandalizing Wikipedia; indeed, my intentions are quite the opposite. I'm not allowing the pharmaceutical industry to trash Kevin Trudeau and his cause; I'm not going to allow the pharmaceutical industry and its goons stifle what I have to say. I'm going to see to it that there's at least one place on the Web, other than Kevin Trudeau's own website, that boldly proclaims that Kevin Trudeau is telling the truth, that there are natural cures for virtually every disease, and that the pharmaceutical industry is trying to hide them from the public in order to make massive profits. If there's one thing I've learned from Kevin Trudeau, it's to defend the spirit of the First Amendment, including my rights to free speech and the free speech of others, at any cost. You'd better sleep with one eye open, because this is FAR FROM OVER!!!! You horrible disease-mongers are either going to change your ways, admit the truth, and work for the benefit of all of mankind, or you are going to pay dearly for your crimes... in much, much more than cash. --Luigifan 22:10, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You may believe this to be true; but inserting your opinions into Wikipedia is a major NPOV violation and can get you blocked. This has nothing to do with censorship, and everything to do with Wikipedia's policies of long standing. --Orange Mike 22:18, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Excuse me, but I'm a bit angry now, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't take my remarks the wrong way. With that said, I was just thinking, perhaps these policies need to be violated once in a while, to expose the machinations of corrupt entities and encourage Wikipedians to rally behind those who are fighting against injustice. --Luigifan 22:59, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Neither of which is relevant here. We simply don't care if you think Mr Big is keeping the man down. Might I suggest you get yourself a blog? HalfShadow 23:19, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sonic Fan Fiction spam[edit]

Please do not spam article talkpage with links to fanfiction. Article talkpages are not for promoting websites, they are for discussing the improvement of articles. --Fredrick day 21:37, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean by spam? I simply enjoyed the fanfic, so I want to provide a link to it so that others can enjoy it as well. --Luigifan 21:45, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's spam because it has nothing at all to do with improving the article. Article talkpages are not for general conversation but for talking about how to improve articles. I have removed the links you have re-added, if you persist, it is likely you will be blocked. --Fredrick day 21:54, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

*groan* Well, where do I have "general conversations", then? Can't a guy just spread the word of great literature around here? --Luigifan 21:57, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There are thousands of websites to have general conversations. Wikipedia does not provide any of them. --Orange Mike 22:19, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You could put a link on your talkpage, that's about it - NOT on article talkpages. --Fredrick day 21:59, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not use talk pages such as Talk:Babylon Rogues for general discussion of the topic. They are for discussion related to improving the article. They are not to be used as a forum or chat room. See here for more information. Thank you. Gscshoyru 22:13, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As my block has recently expired, I've been hard at work designing a userpage branch dedicated to Matchmaker (including all the stuff that you guys reverted off the Sonic series talk pages; I saved it to a Microsoft Word document while I was re-reverting). Anyway, rather than putting the stuff back on the talk pages (and probably getting myself blocked again), I decided to follow your advice, and simply saved them to a userpage branch, along with an overall analysis of the entire story. Too late. As he doesn't seem to care about warnings, he now has 24 hours to read up on policy. IrishGuy talk 22:33, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I realize that the cross-posting was wrong. I'm currently working on writing down the fanfic information on my userpage. As for the threats, well, I'm a bit mad that my recent edits to Censorship have been reverted, as I was merely trying to reveal the evil of the pharmaceutical industry by exposing how they censor information on health to ensure massive profits. In other words, the guy was basically reverting the truth off the page. So, needless to say, I figured, why would he be so keen to defend the pharmaceutical industry unless he'd been brainwashed by their propaganda, or, even worse, was part of the pharmaceutical industry? However, I should have probably left it at "I won't allow you to trample my First Amendment rights", and kept the "You'd better sleep with one eye open" to myself. Oi. --Luigifan 22:56, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • What the? The information on the fanfics I was trying to post on my user page just vanished!!! ARGH!!!! Darn, I'll have to wait until I'm unblocked to put the descriptions of the fanfics on my user page. --Luigifan 23:29, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • As my block has recently expired, I've been hard at work designing a userpage branch dedicated to Matchmaker, including all the stuff that you guys reverted off the Sonic series talk pages. (I saved it to a Microsof Word document while I was re-reverting.) Anyway, rather than putting the stuff back on the talk pages (and probably getting myself blocked again), I simply saved them to a userpage branch, along with an overall analysis of the entire story. If you're interested, you can read it here, although I should warn you that it contains extremely heavy spoilers!
First of all -- Wikipedia articles aren't about truth. Wikipedia articles are about what is verifiable, from reliable sources. Whether it is true or not makes no difference to its inclusion -- that's the concept most new (and old, perhaps) users have trouble grasping. Admittedly, it has a downside -- but it also keeps people's crazy conspiracies off of Wikipedia, that the adding user "knows" is true. The reason why is was reverted was because it was uncited, and probably looked very much like POV. I'd do the same. Second of all, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for free speech. It's not a place to post your personal views or ideas, it's a place to make a POV-less encyclopedia. As such, any soapboxing without something substantial and reliable to back it up will be removed, especially from the article-space. Understand? Gscshoyru 23:02, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I get your point... *shudders at the thought of random n00bs arguing over which gaming system is superior* It's been a long time since I last read Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You to Know About, anyway. I've probably forgotten a lot of the little details. I know that the proof of Kevin Trudeau's statements exists; he just couldn't put it in the book, because (a), the FTC would burn his books, and (b), it would have over 2,000 pages, and probably weigh about 100 pounds. In other words, the pharmaceutical industry isn't dumb enough to allow the public to have easy access to the proof of Kevin Trudeau's statements, and there's simply too much proof to put into one book, especially when the book has to contain the beliefs that the proof is backing up. So, yeah, I'm probably going to have to go digging for evidence before getting into another shouting match over Kevin Trudeau, lest I appear to have an I. Q. equal to those stupid Halo fanboys (or anybody who claims that something is awesome/terrible without giving any good reason why it's so awesome/terrible, and the proof that it is awesome/terrible.) --Luigifan 23:20, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
P. S. I'm not referring to Halo fans, I'm referring to the dunces who rarely speak sentences that are not about how awesome Halo is, and viciously attack anybody who dares to claim that Halo is not awesome. I mean no disrespect to those Halo fans who judge Halo on its own merits and believe that Halo is a good game because of its great gameplay, graphics, story, etc., not because of how much hype it received or how many copies it sold. In other words, I do not mean to insult the Halo lovers who are intelligent enough to play it, enjoy it, and talk about it in a rational, fair-minded manner. As for the people who are not... well, they're noobs. My reaction to them is similar to the reaction of any other gamer to noobs; annoyance, dislike, and a strong desire to drive them away from the world of gaming so that the rest of us can play video games safely, fairly, and sanely. As for the analogy, what I'm trying to say is that I do recognize and acknowledge the stupidity of trying to make a statement without backing it up. (I have a bit of a tendency to get... overzealous at times, which can get me in trouble at times. Oh, wait, it already did. XP) --Luigifan 23:20, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your userpage[edit]

Wikipedia is not a free webhost. Please remove your in depth analysis of various fan fiction. IrishGuy talk 20:31, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why should I? It's not like I'm spamming talk pages or something like that... like I was when you blocked me... --Luigifan 22:25, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
your user page is not a personal homepage. Your page is about you as a Wikipedian. Examples of unrelated content include: * Extensive discussion not related to Wikipedia * Extensive personal opinions on matters unrelated to Wikipedia, wiki philosophy, collaboration, free content, the Creative Commons, etc. * Other non-encyclopedic material * Games, roleplaying sessions, and other things pertaining to "entertainment" rather than "writing an encyclopedia," particularly if they involve people who are not active participants in the project. This material is clearly in violation of these restrictions. --Orange Mike 23:57, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's part of why I didn't put it on my userpage (the other part is that it would have been a huge spoiler.) However, a userpage branch is just like it sounds like - a branch off of the main userpage. I don't see anything wrong with using that to discuss material that you like. --Luigifan 11:13, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well you are wrong, if you want to argue your case head over here, where I have MFD'd the page. This is a clear breach of WP:NOT a free webhost and it's a shame you would not agree to remove it of your own accord - an admin could just nuke it, but I think that because you seem to have a problem with policy, that you should see that it is the consensus of the community, enforcing core policy. --Fredrick day 14:05, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

January 2008[edit]

  1. Welcome, and thank you for your attempt to lighten up Wikipedia. However, this is an encyclopedia and the articles are intended to be serious, so please don't make joke edits, as you did to Road rage. Readers looking for serious articles will not find them amusing. If you'd like to experiment with editing, try the sandbox, where you can write (almost) whatever you want. --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 03:33, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
...That wasn't a joke. I like comprehensive lists, so I felt a little slighted when most of the "Manifestations" list was wiped clean. --Luigifan (talk) 19:44, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If you think there should be more stuff in the list, you're welcome to suggest additions on the talk page, but reverting to a version that includes such absurdities as "* cutting a "vision hole" in one's hood, so one can still drive normally when the hood is released at high speeds on the interstate. The driver appears to be blinded by the hood and about to suffer a horrific crash and subsequent death, when in reality he is not. Like many other manifestations of road rage, this is done to terrify other drivers." is not likely to convince people of your sincerity. You also removed appropriate punctuation and capitalization from some entries; indicating that you were simply reverting to an earlier reversion rather than actually looking at what you were doing. —Random832 15:17, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Here's a comprehensive list for you. The problem is if a few nonsense or questionable entries are added, people feel the need to add more and more. —Random832 15:49, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion warning of Sonic: The Fated Hour[edit]

A tag has been placed on Sonic: The Fated Hour requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article and put a note on the page's discussion page saying why this article should stay. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please use deletion review instead of continuing to recreate the page. Thank you. MuZemike (talk) 21:54, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

D&D articles for Wikipedia 0.7[edit]

Hi there!  :)

As someone who's worked on D&D and/or RPG articles before, I'm inviting you to participate in our goal to both improve articles that have been selected to be placed in the next Wikipedia DVD release, as well as nominate more to be selected for this project. stray cats on User:Luigifan/What good is Wikipedia?[edit]

Hello there, I was just cleaning up Category:Wikipedia basic information, as it is not meant to be used in the user namespace, could you remove it? On the other hand a quick glance at Category:User essays might need a sub category 'essays about wikipedia' or such like. I am slowly addressing the help/introduction pages and think somewhere along the way there should be a pointer to user essays such as yours along the way... keep up the good work :) LeeVJ (talk) 02:20, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Um... okay. How do I send it there? --Luigifan (talk) 02:50, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The first step is to make sure a category is needed! A cursory glance at the user essays category makes me think it might benefit from a tidy up - but then again there aren't that many so having them listed in one place might still be acceptable... I'll have to investigate...but first I must sleep !

A simpler version of the request would be could you remove the Category:Wikipedia basic information from your User:Luigifan/What good is Wikipedia? essay so that it isn't listed as a main wikipedia page? Cheers and good night/afternoon/morning zzzzzzzz LeeVJ (talk) 03:46, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Hypergamy are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. Can I echo ospalh on this? Please just add the article to your watchlist or something. And I don't see how going through your contributions would be any quicker than typing the name of the article into the search box, or adding it as a link on your user page, or a subpage of it. Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Moonyams, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. --Zvn (talk) 20:56, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
