Thanks for uploading Image:Johnny_Contardo_in_Sha_Na_Na.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:39, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

For images on wikipedia we need to know who owns the copyright to it, otherwise we are stealing the image without permission. Wikipedia is a free content encyclopedia, which means all of our material is freely licensed. For a definition of freedom in this context see freedomdefined.org. If you can get the person who owns the rights to license it under a free license then it can be used. If you do ask for permission please use Wikipedia:Example requests for permission. Getting permission to use it on wikipedia only is not enough, we need it to be licensed under a free license. Thanks, if you have any other questions feel free to come back to WP:MCQ :) - cohesion 05:16, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image deletion[edit]

As it stands, the images will be automatically deleted anyway, so you don't really have to do anything. If you'd like to see them removed sooner, you can request deletion by editing the image pages and adding the tag {{db-author}}. An admin will be along to delete them before long. Naming Protocol[edit]

Deleted question as problem has been solved. Thank you.

LoriM5160 00:18, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Referring to him by his last name is conventional, but if he uses "Greene" on a regular basis as a performing name (as in 50 Cent or Madonna), you may use that instead. There is no real need to refer to him as a professor. If you have any other questions please do ask (on my talk page if you wish). I'm removing the help template as this issue seems to be resolved.

Deleting this question as this problem has been solved. Thanks.

Hi. The wiki-syntax you're using where you have one square bracket on each side, i.e. [something] usually does nothing until you put a URL inside it, e.g. [http://www.google.com/] --which you probably already know. However what you don't seem to know is that the pipe "|" is not part of this syntax. The pipe is used for double-bracket syntax, i.e. [[Wikilink | this is where the pip is used]]
To do what you want to do, do it as follows:
[http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/MRC/TragicallyHip.html Tragically Hip: Hollywood and African American Film] and
[http://law.udayton.edu/NR/exeres/2920798B-C57D-4511-A303-19037CD547F5.htm University of Dayton School of Law]
which results as this:
Tragically Hip: Hollywood and African American Film
University of Dayton School of Law
I hope this helps. Rfwoolf 15:59, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
