New Mathematics Wikiportal[edit]

I noticed you've done some work on Mathematics articles. I wanted to point out to you the new Mathematics Wikiportal- more specifically, to the Mathematics Collaboration of the Week page. I'm looking for any math-related stubs or non-existant articles that you would like to see on Wikipedia. Additionally, I wondered if you'd be willing to help out on some of the Collaboration of the Week pages.

I encourage you to vote on the current Collaboration of the Week, because I'm very interested in which articles you think need to be written or added to, and because I understand that I cannot do the enormous amount of work required on some of the Math stubs alone. I'm asking for your help, and also your critiques on the way the portal is set up.

Please direct all comments to my user-talk page, the Math Wikiportal talk page, or the Math Collaboration of the Week talk page. Thanks a lot for your support! ral315 02:54, Feb 11, 2005 (UTC)

Mathematics project Participants List[edit]

Hello Ling Kah Jai. After some discussion here, I've converted the "WikiProject Mathematics Participants List" into a table. It is now alphabetical, includes links to the participant's talk page and contribution list, and has a field for "Areas of Interest". I'm letting you know, so you can update your entry, if you want.

Image copyright problem with File:Euler Spiral-00001.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Euler Spiral-00001.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 11:22, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your uploads[edit]

Good day. I see that you have uploaded a number of images to Wikipedia. First off, thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately, there are some guidelines that we need to follow with copyrighted images. Specifically, you need to add a source for the image (a link to a website will do), a copyright tag (there are some listed at WP:ICT), and a rationale explaining why we can use a copyrighted image (explained at WP:NFURG). I see that your images fail to include one of these. Please stop uploading images and address the concerns listed above. If you need assistance, you can ask at the help desk. If you do not fix these images, and you continue to make bad uploads, you will be blocked and your images will be deleted. Thanks for your contributions! STBotI (talk) 11:30, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You recent edit[1] to Track transition curve appears to have been a knee-jerk reversion, as it failed to incorporate improvements (particularly formatting) undertaken at User:Ling Kah Jai/Track transition curve. Please also be aware of the the three-revert rule (see WP:3RR) and the BOLD, revert, discuss cycle process (see WP:BRD). If a BOLD change is reverted, it is considered bad form to reinstate it immediately (let alone three times, see WP:BOLD). Please try to work within the Wikipedia processes and guidelines. Many appreciations, —Sladen (talk) 09:43, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

January 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at User talk:Sladen, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. —Sladen (talk) 11:05, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sladen, I wish to make it clear that I did not delete the comment/discussion but merely moving the comment/discussion to the appropriate page.--Ling Kah Jai (talk) 11:58, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I observed the text had vanished, but could not that it had been placed anywhere. Indeed, I tried three further refreshes (and approximately one minute intervals) and concluded that the text had not been replaced anywhere in that time-frame. A good way to avoid the text being misconstrued as deleted is to save and place the text on the new Talk: page, before deleting it from the old Talk:page. I generally bring up both Talk: pages, move the content and apply the necessary messages to show exactly which it (will) move to, including sub-heading links; then save both pages simultaneously. My apologies for not having waited longer before providing this warning template. —Sladen (talk) 16:17, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Adding stub tags[edit]

When adding stub tags, please (a) add them at the end of the article, not the top, as per Wikipedia:Stub#How_to_mark_an_article_as_a_stub, and (b) check carefully that the article hasn't already been given a subject-specific stub type. here you managed to get both points wrong! Thanks. PamD (talk) 11:15, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Semi-cyclic"[edit]

You haven't answered my latest question at Talk:Repeating decimal regarding your definition of "semi-cyclic" numbers. You have agreed that the term is a neologism, and you seem unable to provide a precise definition of it, or identify which numbers are "semi-cyclic". If you don't provide a sensible definition soon, I think I shall have to remove the term from the article. Gandalf61 (talk) 06:15, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

BRD[edit]

Per WP:BRD, stop adding massive amounts of unrelated material. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 03:15, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see why they are not related. Arthur Rubin, You should stop mass deleting --Ling Kah Jai (talk) 03:26, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Cyclic permutation of integer, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cyclic permutation of integer. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 00:46, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Midy's theorem[edit]

I have reverted the "group theory proof" that you added to Midy's theorem. As well as being original research, your "proof" does not actually use any group theory. Please stop using Wikipedia to publish your own research. Gandalf61 (talk) 20:10, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am not putting up something new. I am adopting existing theory to provide a proof for Midy's theorem. If you call that original research, then perhaps there are too many original research in Wikipedia. --Ling Kah Jai (talk) 01:57, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you think it is not using group theory, then you can add one that truly uses group theory. --Ling Kah Jai (talk) 02:20, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Speedy deletion nomination of Transition curve[edit]

Hello Ling Kah Jai,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Transition curve for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons. For more details please see the notice on the article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Dschslava Δx parlez moi 21:16, 14 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
