Problems with upload of File:Aboriginal Provisional Government logo 2013.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Aboriginal Provisional Government logo 2013.png. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

WP policy and editing issues[edit]

It would seem to me that your continued editing of the palawa kani page violate a number of WP policies, my most concerning would be WP:NPOV due to your own admittance. Whether I care or not is immaterial, it's down to the wider WP community, some of whom have been here since the beginning of time (in WP parlance). I may feel this was because I also violated this for quite some time before being informed of not only what was perceived to be wrong by the Wikipedia community, but I realised ethically wrong as well. But again that is immaterial to the topic at hand, though may serve as a vague guide. I believe I have acted in good faith and attempted to help moderate your edits. However I am becoming quite startlingly concerned at what some others may consider repeated bad faith edits[1][2][3]. Because of these concerns of mine, this morning I emailed TAC and they have at minimum supplied me with an MDN - though no actual reply, as to whether the person behind your username is who you claim you are (because sockpuppet and the like). But even then, this presents some problems. If you are, that's sort of great because then the wider WP community can be confident that we're dealing with a person with intricate knowledge on the topic but on the other hand it's not great because it would violate the WP:NPOV policy, so as such many may feel you should be following the guidelines of keeping much of your contribution to the Talk page. If you are non-NPOV, I think it not unreasonable that they find it difficult to accept your uncited claim that the article violates WP:Copyright at the same time you're violating WP:NPOV - that is, accepting one policy whilst rejecting another. If TAC do not reply to my aforementioned email, or make some public statement that you have been permitted to interact with WP to resolve the issues and take fulsome steps to verify your identity, I think it would be not unreasonable for the Wikipedia community to remain highly skeptical of your edits, which could lead them to probably Undo them. I believe there are a number of people in the WP:WikiProject_Tasmania who would be eager to help find the middle ground on this matter, I personally firmly believe there is such ground. I think it would be a terrible shame if this article, and other similar articles, were to get locked down in an edit war. Either way, I would encourage you to guide other editors via the Talk page to get the page to an acceptable standard for all, rather than direct edits. @RevPLaw: Wow, I've just read through this in detail. I'll take it that as you've had issues with non-NPOV editing in the past that this is a sensitive issue and explains your "strong" reaction in making this so personal. A "sockpuppet" is a made up name. Wow. We live in the same city and it's not a big city, I expect we know people in common (eg Lin Stanton - see took me about three minutes to find that out). Writing to the TAC to enquire about me is rather weird, but you do what you want. I really think you should be considering edits on the veracity of the evidence that sits behind them (ie the citation). For example, my edits were to remove un-cited information. Some of it I know to be blatantly false. If you really want something to do (for you and/or the WP:WikiProject_Tasmania ) you could look at the British Colonisation of Tasmania page that you linked to, the "impact on the native population" section has dubious information in it, and is poorly referenced. The tiny part that actually has references/citations, is from two journalists from the UK whose work only has passing references to Tasmania. The talk page has a brief list of reputable historians with expertise on the subject that I dropped there for anyone who wants to actually do the work. Also, I've never been involved in an "edit war" in my life and don't plan to start now.
