Welcome to Wikipedia, Licorn! I am WBOSITG and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome! weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 09:15, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Markup spec[edit]

Hi, not quite sure what you're asking - you'd like me to relicence my contribution to the wikitext markup spec? What licence do you have in mind? Stevage 07:38, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I would. I mean any of Open Software license of your choice. For example GPL, LGPL or MIT/BSD. Licorn (talk) 12:51, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But it's already licensed under GFDL? Hence my confusion. Stevage 03:10, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it is licensed so by default. But GFDL is not a software license. It is a documentation license and it is not compatible with other widely used free software licenses. Wiki markup in fact is a program as it is translated by ANTLR to Java code. FSF itself recommends dual license large parts of code. Licorn (talk) 11:07, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reminder, licensed GPL3 now. Stevage 23:48, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much! Licorn (talk) 17:17, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
