Please provide edit summaries to your edits (Explain why you are making changes), otherwise they may be reverted. Users who add multiple external links fit the profile of spammers which means edits may be reverted quickly without being checked. Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. Dear MER-C, I'm not sure I understand why the link is inappropriate. I thought it would be nice to show the object in 3D.. I would appreciate your input on how to add a 3D geometry that serves the purpose of explaining how an object looks/ works. I think this would be a great feature on wiki. Adding links to 3D models

{{helpme}} I thought it would be nice to see the look/functionality of an object in 3D.

Example1: you read about the Arne Jacobsen chair in an article, then it would be nice to see and rotate the chair in 3D

Example2: you read about the Wankel engine, then it would be nice to see, rotate, disassemble and see the function of the engine in 3D

I've tried to add links to websites that has theese 3D files, but my links has been removed.

Ok. I'm new at wiki, I've read the guidelines of adding links, and my understanding is that if the external page serves a purpose in relation to the article, then it's ok. However, when my links is removed, it seems that these rules is secondary, and that some users have their own set of rules which they can enforce as they wish.

How can I add a link to a 3D model without having them removed by users who do not know anything about the subject in the articles to which the link was added?

You will need to re-read the policy on WP:EL. I do not see the links to copyrighted 3D images as helping with article content at all, and to me reads as very WP:SPAMmy ... (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 16:25, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

I see this link as extreemly useful in showing how a DPF is looking and working, and I do not at all see how this can be seen as spam. You are welcome to explain how a link to a 3D model should be added?
