re Small favour

I was just looking at it, actually. I think it looks excellent. Most definitely of GA quality. Good luck! ;) Cheers, -- Cirt (talk) 07:06, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Sure, I will try to find some time. ;) By the way, you may be interested in some new article creation/expansion I have been doing on books authored by Dan Savage. You can see them in the books subsection, at {{Dan Savage}}. Thoughts? :) -- Cirt (talk) 07:10, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
Thanks very much for your kind words about my work. I am researching the book articles in chronological order. :) -- Cirt (talk) 07:23, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
Savage Love: Straight Answers from America's Most Popular Sex Columnist = could probably used some expansion with additional secondary sources. And Skipping Towards Gomorrah = I have found secondary sources confirming it was a finalist for the Lambda Literary Award, but would appreciate a couple more secondary sources saying what precisely happened with the final results. :) -- Cirt (talk) 07:28, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Please do, thank you so much!!! :) -- Cirt (talk) 07:38, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

New article = The Commitment: Love, Sex, Marriage, and My Family. -- Cirt (talk) 08:33, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
Yes, yes please! I could really use that info, for all of the above linked book articles! -- Cirt (talk) 16:03, 29 May 2011 (UTC)

Thanks! Now just on the other 4 ... -- Cirt (talk) 13:52, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

user

Hi there Legolas2186, you come to me recommended as someone I hope who can help me with a problematic user. Itsbydesign (talk) is continuously removing sourced information for the Progress Live article, including the confirmed setlist and the critical response. I would be very grateful indeed if you could look into this for me? It would be a big help and they aren't listening to me or other users regarding the situation. Many thanks and hope you can help. Yids2010 (talk) 20:05, 29 May 2011 (UTC))

Get Jeez$y

Hey have you checked if any other boxscore was reported? If not when the tour gets over remove that single entry table, it looks so out of place. When r u going? — Legolas (talk2me) 06:37, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Yes ive checked but hers havnt been updated in quite awhile, once the tour is wrapped ill get someone with a subscription to check all her scores and get them to add it. And im going on September 9, 2011 :) - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 06:43, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
I have subscription (duh), annd the last few weeks there hasn't been any updates for her. I guess we are not getting any pics b4 you go. :( — Legolas (talk2me) 06:45, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Do you? Was not aware of that actually. Sweet =], saves me time of having to track someone down who has one lol. And hopefully well get some good pics, i have like 8 friends going with me so ill steal their images too lol =P (Copyright people if you're reading this, bite me -__-, i know the rules; so dont even). Also, any idea when The Harold Song is coming out? Huge buzz then it went dead, same thing with Cannibal sooo wtf is her label doing? o_O - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 06:51, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Kesha's record label is actually waiting for "Blow" to fall faster. They didn't think that "Blow" will register so much airplay. Also "We R Who WE R" and "Tik Tok" are both registering strong recurrent airplay, hence they fear a backlash now. So waiting for the airplay to reach dead zone before releasing. — Legolas (talk2me) 07:17, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
-__- Kinda thought "Blow" not dropping on radio significantly had something to do with it, with that tho they're taking a hit on Cannibal as sales have dropped from 10k to 5k a week since blow peaked. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 07:21, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
I think at this point they are not concerned about Cannibals sales, they were kinda surprised that it performed this way though. To make matters worse RCA released that I Am Dance Commander thing, which was without Kesha's consent to tell you the truth. And it backfired. Also, Kesha is more invested in the tour and the second album now, so that may be another cause. — Legolas (talk2me) 07:26, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Yeah concerts are where labels make all their money nowadays since no one really buys albums anymore. -Sigh- Lame i wanted the balled as a single, even if its a dud least it would have showed a non drunk side before her next record. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 07:30, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
I do believe she will have to release a ballad anyways, whether that will be due to a change of image, or a backlash, or something else I don;t know, but yeah, the girl's got brains (which most pop tartlets don't have) plus she's talented. — Legolas (talk2me) 07:40, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
No arguments that she will have to eventually, as for the brains it was super smart of her to do "Animal" at the BB Awards, seems to have shut up a lot of people who said she couldn't sing (not based on the Blow part of the performance as her vocal rapping is meh, her singing is better) - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 07:44, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Btw, I was checking through Soundscan, Animal is at 1,432,234 and Cannibal is at 401,287. I am at 67,000. — Legolas (talk2me) 07:53, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Say what? O_O Wow.... Last i heard Cannibal was at 345 and Animal was at 1.3 .... Can you use Soundscan to source sales? if so can you update her Discography for me cause i have no clue how to source it. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 07:57, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Lol, I used to work for Billboard, thats why I have access to SoundScan database. Its a mainframe, you cannot source it, its just for your pleasure. — Legolas (talk2me) 08:01, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Well thats super irritating lol. Well thanks for the updates, Cannibal should be gold soon, woot =] - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 08:07, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Just heard THS on YouTube. I realise that she can actually sing! I have always seen her as a trashy blonde $lea$ebag, and didn't like any of her music until "Sleazy", "Blow", and now THS. I wish they sold Cannibal separately over here, I might have bought it... Adabow (talk · contribs) 09:45, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Animal is worth having. — Legolas (talk2me) 09:57, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Based on its singles, meh. Adabow (talk · contribs) 10:03, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Her singles are my least favorite songs by her (Besides We R Who We R), her non trashy non-singles are 5000x better than her singles. You'd be presently surprised at the album, check; Animal, Dancing With Tears In My Eyes, Blind, Hungover, as those are her ballads which IMO are her best. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 18:33, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Help

Good afternoon Legolas! Can you simplify this for me: "What It's Gonna Be" sees Simpson expecting reciprocity from a commitment-phobe.? Thanks. Novice7 (talk) 09:25, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

The lyrics deal with Simpson expecting a reply from her lover regarding his fear of commitment. — Legolas (talk2me) 09:31, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Wow, thanks. Btw, do you have access to Soundscan? If you do, can you give me the sales of Simpson's albums (especially the Playlist, This Is the Remix and Happy Christmas)? Thanks. Novice7 (talk) 09:35, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Lol, you cannot source them. — Legolas (talk2me) 09:39, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
I promise I won't use it on the articles, just wondering what the sales might be ;) Novice7 (talk) 09:44, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
I could only find these: Sweet Kisses - 1,938,756, Irresistible - 756,058, In This Skin - 2,924,955, Rejoyce - 672,632, A Public Affair - 300,821, Do You Know - 186,457, Happy Christmas - 27,834. Hope this helps. — Legolas (talk2me) 09:55, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! Wow, HC sold 27,800+? Novice7 (talk) 09:48, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

FFS Lego can't you slip some sort of list of sales onto a Billboard editor's desk? (say you'd do it for a Snickers) These numbers would be so helpful... Adabow (talk · contribs) 09:49, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Yes. That would be so helpful to us! Novice7 (talk) 09:53, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Yes but I dont work there anymore, and after the Prometheus debacle, we dont speak to BB that much. (Long story and too old for you guys to understand)Legolas (talk2me) 09:55, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Thanks ya lot for the numbers for Flopera Slayara, Lego!! :) Candyo32 12:45, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Hi Legolas! I was wondering if Billboard had Boxscore information on Jessica Simpson's "DreamChaser Tour" (of 2001)? Novice7 (talk) 12:25, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

No idea? Lol, I have to check. — Legolas (talk2me) 12:31, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
Lol, okay. I'm almost done with Irresistible :) Novice7 (talk) 12:33, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

WikiCup 2011 May newsletter

We're half way through round 3 of the 2011 WikiCup. There are currently 32 remaining in the competition, but only 16 will progress to our penultimate round. Scotland Casliber (submissions), of pool D, is our overall leader with nearly 200 points, while pools A, B and C are led by Texas Racepacket (submissions), Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions) and Saskatchewan Canada Hky (submissions) respectively. The score required to reach the next round is 35, though this will no doubt go up significantly as the round progresses. We have a good number of high scorers, but also a considerable number who are yet to score. Please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. Also, an important note concerning nominations at featured article candidates: if you are nominating content for which you intend to claim WikiCup points, please make this clear in the nomination statement so that the FAC director and his delegates are aware of the fact.

A running total of claims can be seen here. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! Amazon "controversy"

Regarding your edit summary, what do you mean you don't care how many sources call it a controversy? When do you get to decide which words are to be used on Wikipedia, especially when they are direct quotes? A number of sources (including Billboard) have said that the Amazon deal led to controversy among people (read about it here), some of whom disagreed with this tactic. Why should that not be mentioned? Orane (talk) 05:10, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

I'm aware much more than you regarding which sources are calling what. That is hardly a definition of controversy. And my main point is not to report any incident or label them as controversy just because so and so publication called them. WP should not report any incident as "controversy". I have followed this approach not only in this page, or Gaga's, I do this in any page I find this word. It just feels so biased because you are reporting what happened with the deal, why over emphasize by adding this word? NPOV is also a question here I feel. Also take it to the talk page if you would like as I already raised a section there. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:18, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
"You're aware much more than me"? Quite a bold statement, especially since you don't even know how much I know about the subject. Secondly, it's not up to me to say that something is controversial. But if a source says that a decision was controversial, then there really is no reason what you should decide for the entire article that it was not a controversy, and remove the statement. "WP should not report any incident as "controversy"- Wiki policy or personal belief? Only the former is valid here, unfortunately. You too are also under-emphasizing the issue by hiding the fact that amazon's decision was so "controversial" (yes, controversial) that it caused even the Billboard editor to release statements (more than once) addressing the issue. Gaga's sales are tainted by a "controversial" $0.99 scandal, and it's only fair to accurately depict this. Orane (talk) 05:29, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
"You're aware much more than me" by this statement I meant that as a Gaga follower I'm aware of all the news regarding this. And I have no idea how much you have any knowledge on this nor do I really care to be honest. Also, I never said that there is a WP policy regarding this. It is just bad writing to report any incident as controversy by us, the writers and editors of Wikipedia. I followed the same for even the MJ article, the Sex controversy, the hermaphrodite rumors etc etc. I think we can delve into the real controversy here, what exactly happened? Amazon made a decision which was received negatively by some parties. I think "received negatively" is a better link here, don;t you think? — Legolas (talk2me) 05:37, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Putting the "I'm a fan so I know more than you" comments aside, the MJ examples you gave were completely different. Not only were they complex, defamatory, and had legal implications, but special care also had to be taken to ensure that there was adherence to WP:BLP. That's totally different with this instance. There are no speculations and allegations as to whether Gaga had to basically give her albums away in order to break sales records. It was openly admitted, and it did result in criticism and disagreements. In a nutshell, it was as the Billboard article say it was. But I rest my case. Orane (talk) 05:50, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
You just said it, there were criticisms and disagreements, why not use these terms? Like "the heavily criticized Amazon decision..." something like this? And there is no article that's saying that Gaga gave away her albums. It was Amazon's decision to give it away for 99c, not Interscope's, something called loss-leader strategy. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:56, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Yes, "heavily criticized" sounds fine, but it's also a case of rhetoric ("freedom fighter" vs "terrorist"). I agree "controversy" is very loaded and comes with a lot of connotation. But I'd argue it as more accurate. But you've made your point. Orane (talk) 06:11, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
PS: She didn't give it away? Well, she did force it on Best Buy customers. I read an article that said "At the rate things are going, you'll soon get a free Lady Gaga Born This Way album with every bag of dog food, potato chips, and condoms. Is this the new way of scoring a chart hit?" And to ship it to pharmacies and Wallgreens? Her label says "To be on an endcap at Whole Foods, if you see a Gaga CD, you might be familiar with her as an artist, and you might give it a chance." Seriosuly? The medium is the message, and this album is so crassly commercial, it doesn't even feel like music anymore. But we're moving away from the issue, so I'll stop there.
PS:Sorry about your hand, by the way. Orane (talk) 06:11, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Thanks Orane. I'm recovering now. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:18, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Could you (and any talk page stalker) please add the articles under User:(CK)Lakeshade/My_GA to your watchlist as i may not be very active the next few days. Thanks in advance. =] - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 06:40, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

I already have most of them on my watchlist, except "My First Kiss" and I respectfully refuse to add it. :P (Hate it to the core, let it rot in the hands of vandals)Legolas (talk2me) 06:45, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
HAH, you suck xD . Not a very big fan of that song either only GA'ed it cause its her song too =P. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 06:47, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
I can understand the pain of not liking a song, but having to GAfy it.. Look at "Born This Way (song)". — Legolas (talk2me) 06:51, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Bahaha, im glad My First Kiss wasnt as massive as that bahah xD I feel your pain lol. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 06:52, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Good lord, its still not GA, coupled with Judas and The Edge of Glory all looking like horse Scheibe, god knows what I'm gonna do. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:56, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Bahaha xD The first two look great tho, your work is definitely appreciated. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 07:06, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
I was just looking at the music section of GAN, man its just completely backlogged! Here I have to start again 4 reviews/day I guess. *rolling eyes* — Legolas (talk2me) 07:08, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
I know i just failed two. Id review more but im only wiki-ing to avoid homework (essays -__-). Can guarantee Talk:Red Barked Tree/GA1 is going to flip a t** on me, as hes written a few FA's but this article is a mess. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 07:15, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
I saw that, and you did the correct thing. The standard for the music articles have drastically increased and this falls short of even B-class. — Legolas (talk2me) 07:24, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for reviewing What's Your Name (I found it quite funny that you're also gonna do What's My Name...) Adabow (talk · contribs) 07:32, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Oh honeyyy its all in the nameeeeeee.... — Legolas (talk2me) 07:35, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
I see I managed to confuse you. :D Thanks. Now I just need to touch up the album article, and I'll be off to GTC... Adabow (talk · contribs) 09:24, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Hey

Hey, I've seen you given different people the sales for their fav stars. I was wondering, can you please list them for Miley/HM and Taylor? I know I can't use them for articles, but just really wanted to know. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 16:05, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

I could find these:
Miley Cyrus:
  • Hannah Montana - 3,726,601
  • Hannah Montana 2 - 3,265,393
  • Breakout - 1,586,522
  • Hannah Montana: The Movie - 2,044,830
  • Hannah Montana 3 - 650,659
  • The Time of Our Lives - 1,433,992
  • Can't Be Tamed - 319,990
  • Hannah Montana Forever - 257,203
Taylor Swift:
  • Taylor Swift - 5,017,427
  • Beautiful Eyes - 257,529
  • Fearless - 6,306,437
  • Speak Now - 3,419,824
Hope this helps, actually I knew if some country music fans ask, I saved them in a doc. — Legolas (talk2me) 16:16, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Haha, thanks. You're awesome! -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 05:23, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
It really frustrates me that Miley's label doesn't certify anything. PINTUSA is by 4.5 million and is still certified 3 times platinum. Plus, I know for a fact that CBT and WILAY sold at least a million in 2010, but the RIAA doesn't. They should be like Taylor's label. She has EVERYTHING certified. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 05:33, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
They should be like Beyonce's label, she has even one damn gold song certified. The most lousy of them are Gaga's. She is over 31 times shipped and is only 20 million certified. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:36, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
Oh my god! I feel your pain. Miley only has two certified songs (and they're both one million behind). Look at Taylor Swift discography. She has songs that peaked on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 certified gold. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 05:49, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
But I think Swift's overall certification is still lagging, because I positively remember some Swift fans complaining when Gaga's 20 million was revealed by RIAA as the most certification of single digital downloads. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:06, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
Oh? She's apparently the digital artist with the most single downloads again again, with 33 mill. IDK, but guess what?! I just bought Taylor tickets! It's my first time ever going to a concert! -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 22:43, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
Good for you. I went to the Fearless Tour, but since I wasn't super impressed with Speak Now, I didnot get the tickets, and now, well I just can't. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:50, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Don't you live in India? Did you travel to the US just for the show? Also, I'm currently working on Fearless. Do you think the other charted songs should be mentioned? They did break a record for the most top 40s for a single a album. If so, where? -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 20:37, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Born This Way headings

The one explanation you offered was consistency among Lady Gaga album articles, which is not a valid one. Now you claim "because it is much more important, also structure accordingly"? Exactly how can one section's importance over another be determined? Acknowledge that damn near all album articles flow, for the most part, chronologically, as it best suits such an article, also a common arrangement in most WP articles. Please do not revert my next edit without addressing/refuting my reasoning for it here. Dan56 (talk) 05:17, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Structure accordingly is again as per WP:GAGA articles. And yes, critical and commercial receptions are much, much more important for an article, bar its development, than any other section. Promotions and track lists etc are secondary info and is not a best example of how the album has been accepted. And no, there is no concrete rule for either reasonings that we are stating, but I'm trying to follow a concrete pattern or design amongst these articles. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:23, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
What do you mean "again as per WP:GAGA articles"? There is no mention of structuring or headings at Wikipedia:WikiProject Lady Gaga. And the "pattern or design" is not concrete, as any editor can switch it up following a similar reasoning to mine. Importance of sections is disputable, while chronology within the article body is more definite/concrete. Dan56 (talk) 05:47, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
WP:GAGA articles as in articles within the scope of Wikiproject Gaga. Yes I know its not concrete and I never said so, I just feel that critical and chart receptions are far more important. An article can pass a Ga/FA without having anything related to its promotion, but it will surely be opposed if there's not a critical reception section. My point comes from there that they are really considered one of the most imporatant sections. Don't you think our goal should be to make it as much FAC ready as possible. Excuse my spellings as im typing with one hand, my left hand is fractured. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:52, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
The idea of ordering sections based on importance seems uneven, though; "Background" always first, but seeemingly less importance topics in the article body are placed below those deemed more important? From the guidelines I've read at Wikipedia (Manual of Style, writing better article, etc.), flow is usually mentioned and the impression I got was that it is more important than stylistic choice, which is what this appears to be. The higher up it is placed is supposed to be explained how by a reader? Although it is not policy, the guidelines at WP:Albums shows a structure similar to the chronology-based one I've been suggesting (WP:Albums#Article body). The common thread there is that for the most part, history/chronology of the album follows this (Background to Recording to Promotion to Released/reception to Influence/impact). I just think it is more accessible for readers of such articles with a chronological flow. Dan56 (talk) 20:50, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

New article, page at Dan Savage bibliography. Thoughts? -- Cirt (talk) 07:28, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

Ten-handed one, lol, can we follow the table structure throughout the article even if they are for one entry? And I think the subsection headings should be As an author, As an editor etc etc. Thats what I saw in FLCs. — Legolas (talk2me) 07:33, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Thank you. :) Eh, would prefer not to have those sect titles, as I was following the style from {{Infobox bibliography}}. Btw, peer review ongoing, at Wikipedia:Peer review/Dan Savage bibliography/archive1. -- Cirt (talk) 02:40, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Do you like Beyonce's new song? Jivesh Talk2Me 05:18, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

I was hoping when you ping me, ya I like it. Its better than the RTW crap, which by the way reached a new peak of 29 in US and 16 in Canada and "1+1" also debuted. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:21, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
I have been very busy these days. Will you help me create an article for it? I promise i will not mind if you refuse. I know you have not fully recovered yet. I knew about the US. But about Canada, NO. At least now i can say that RTW reached the top 30 worlwide. Jivesh Talk2Me 05:24, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Please be frank.... Is it a bad sign? Jivesh Talk2Me 06:20, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
No idea, I really don't have any idea about this album or how she is handling her project. I like the song that much I know. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:24, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Okay Legolas. We will talk later. I am expanding the article. Jivesh Talk2Me 06:26, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Call me if you need any help. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:29, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Can you please copy-edit the composition section? Please. Jivesh Talk2Me 06:34, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
I dont wanna (edit conflict) now since you two are working. Tell me when you are done. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:35, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
It hasn't been sent to radio by the label yet, so airplay probably won't pick up for a bit. As for my opinion, it's pretty good, kinda a blend of IAWAB and "Listen", but I love the power of RTW better. RTW is kinda depressing when I listen to Pon de Floor and realise how much of it is sampled... oh well, I prefer to live in ignorance and jam to the Queen lol. Adabow (talk · contribs) 06:40, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Haha, nicely said about RTW, you are growing up boy! — Legolas (talk2me) 06:43, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Hehe, do you feel proud of me lol? I'm glad that RTW is doing alright here in NZ (#9 this week), but I haven't heard it on the radio yet, as it's pretty out-there for us lol. We have three types of radio here: news/talkback (snore), rock (get lost) and mainstream (the best offer I have) which just plays the more easy listening rock and the Katy, Gaga, Jessie etc. I wish we had rhytmic or urban radio here. Adabow (talk · contribs) 06:48, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
So there's just two genres of airplay charts I guess? — Legolas (talk2me) 06:53, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Hey guys, i am having exams in three weeks or less. I will make a big comeback in July after the 20th and i will make a major revamp of "1+1" and "Run the World". You both will start thing i am obsessed but i really cannot stop listening to "Best Thing I Never Had". Jivesh Talk2Me 06:54, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Ok now you are creeping out. Dont listen to a single song so much, you will tire of it easily. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:58, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
LMAO, it's funny that you think we have those sorts of charts. The RIANZ only began the Radio chart a few years ago, but killed the Heatseeker chart. I suppose you could count RadioScope's charts, but they aren't really "official". Adabow (talk · contribs) 07:00, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Nielsen BDS actually offered RIANZ for tabulation and incorporation of airplay data into their charts in the BDS method, they flat out refused. — Legolas (talk2me) 07:03, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Lol they probably couldn't afford it... -sigh- oh well. They've also cut the airplay component completely out of the singles chart, which I have mixed feelings about. I want them to go back to a top 50 though, mainly for WP articles though hehe :P Adabow (talk · contribs) 07:15, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

New

I may be new to this site but I'm not stupid Muthamonster (talk) 08:12, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Does everyone you talk to tell you where they live? Muthamonster (talk) 08:15, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Yes they do, but if you have a problem then don't tell, simple as that. — Legolas (talk2me) 08:17, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
I didn't want to ignore you cos you've been helpful to me, but I didn't want to be seen as a fool either. I'm just cautious of what I say over the internet.
If you must know however I'm from Australia, but that's all I will say - on any personal note - also Lady GaGa is awesome - Muthamonster (talk) 08:28, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Can you......

...leave some feedback at my two fl list candidates: Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of accolades received by Winter's Bone/archive1 and Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Grammy Award for Best Long Form Music Video/archive1? I'd be much appreciated!!

PS Have you gotten Lady Gagas new album? And if so, whats your fav track? Regards!Crystal Clear x3 09:53, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Will comment there shortly. Yes I of course have Gaga's album and absolutely amazed by the track "Scheiβe". — Legolas (talk2me) 11:20, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
I love the beat/hook to that song! But I have no idea what she says in the intro and other parts except for defrogen (sp?) lol. Mine is Bad Kids. It's a great album in whole and I'm glad she finally got a number one album on the Hot 100. Crystal Clear x3 04:37, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
I have also fixed the problems with the WB FLC. Crystal Clear x3 05:10, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
Will take a look, and she speaks faux German in the song, that's why the opening line goes "I don't speak German but I can if you like". Then its gibberish. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:40, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
  • takes in a moment of very awkward silence* Well aren't my checks red right now. I guess that's why I couldn't understand any of it lol!Crystal Clear x3 07:00, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
And thank you for supporting WB list. Much appreciated! And great work on your current Madonna book-topic! Also, thanks for defending me on the 21 FAC. There was a misunderstanding and I am about to clarify it. Crystal Clear x3
Ya no probs. If you get time, could you take a look at the Madonna award list I developed? You are more experienced in it than I am. And don't worry, Nathan knows how much it takes to promote a FAC, poor guy's nominations failed so many times that he gave up. — Legolas (talk2me) 07:04, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
I just checked out the list, but have not given it a thorough review (yet). The references and structure are all great, but just a few tweaks to the prose. I wanted to run them by you first before editing the list:
  • "The same year, she expanded the use of sexually explicit material in work, beginning the release of the studio album Erotica, followed by the publishing of the coffee table book Sex, and starring in the erotic thriller Body of Evidence, all of which received negative responses from conservatives and liberals alike."
I remember another editor once telling me when reviewing something to avoid statements like "The same year". There's also a typo (missing "with" in the first part) and I think adding "her" in the first part would clarify whose work it is. Also, that sentence seems a bit long. Might I suggest: "Also in 1992, Madonna expanded the use of sexually explicit material in her work, beginning with the release of the studio album Erotica. This was followed by publishing the coffee table book Sex and starring in the erotic thriller Body of Evidence. All three received negative responses from conservatives and liberals alike."
  • Instead of using Madonna twice as the beginning of two paragraphs, for the last one, maybe you should write: "The Recording Industry Association of America ranked Madonna as the best-selling female rock artist of the twentieth century and the second top-selling female artist in the United States with sixty-three million certified albums; she has sold over two-hundred million albums worldwide." Crystal Clear x3 08:06, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Legolas, I strongly advise that you replace Rock on teh Net as its reliablity has been questioned numerous times. Adabow (talk · contribs) 08:41, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

What?

You wanna tell me how in the bloody hell this is a Wiki mirror?--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 06:03, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

There is a Wikipedia reference there, for The Telegraph. And of course I did not imply the Reuters source. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:07, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
So why didn't you simply remove it (I didn't see it, they were both not formatted and close together) instead of reverting? Just because I make a mistake doesn't mean you must follow.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 06:09, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
Again, mistakes happen Nathan, which I realized later and added back the Reuters source. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:11, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
I saw that. Good catch.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 06:14, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

'03 Bonnie & Clyde

Do me a favor and "not list" '03 Bonnie & Clyde as a GA, because I am not going to rush the page to perfection within 7-days (less now). I am the pages nominator/worker so I think this is okay to ask? Not sure, but I feel like theirs no point in waiting. Thank you. Theuhohreo (talk) 15:57, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

The Monster Ball Tour

Hi! Seems like you have put a whole lot of effort on the tour's article. Nice. :) Thehefore, I'd like to remind you about a conversation I started, I don't understand at all what "debut headlining artist" means.... -- Regards. Frous (talk) 22:45, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

What's My Name?

Hey I managed to do some of the tasks that you have given for making "What's My Name? (Rihanna song)" a good article. But, I have some notes:

  • I can't find source about the specific people that are in the music video. Can you try to find it, or how can we change that?
  • The charts need to use the !scope="row"| parameter in the rows. - That means we should rework the whole chart table and remove the template charts. Why doing that, when there are templates?
  • And about the references, by which cite template (name, date, access date) I should do all the references?

Those are the issues that I have, I hope you can help me.

Greetings Tomica1111 (talk)

I will reply here since you posted here only.
  • Yes I noticed that there aren't any reliable sources reporting those guest appearances. I guess it will have to go.
  • If its using the template, then no need to use the scope=row thing.
  • You should use {{cite news}} for all news and review related items, and {{cite web}} for things like chart positions, certifications etc, ie things which are not at all news related. — Legolas (talk2me) 15:32, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

The Born This Way Ball Tour

Hi, I started to make my own page on SandBox or whatever on this tour and I tried to put in a refernece list by adding; reflist , < references / > under a heading: References. However it keeps coming up with Error and I was wondering if you knew how to fix it? Well done with The Monster Ball page upgrade by the way if you did it. Hi there

Hellooo Avi (I hope you don't mind me calling you so)!! How are you? Hope you're doing well :) Thanks for fixin' Irresistible. I would like to have your advice on something. I moved the article to my sandbox to develop a Recording section. I found a source and another source with some information on songs. Also, does Billboard Boxscore say anything about the DreamChaser Tour of 2001 (by Simpson)? Thanks in advance. Novice7 (talk) 10:26, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Ya sure what kinda advice? And DreamChasers was probably not reported to BB Bxscre. — Legolas (talk2me) 10:36, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. Well, would it be okay to start a Recording section for the article using these references? As for DreamChaser, it might be that the performances took place in mall parking lots? Novice7 (talk) 10:40, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
The first reference seems fine, I'm not sure about the second one. And she performed at malls for the tour? How is that a tour then? Lol. — Legolas (talk2me) 10:45, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
For the first one, Google Translate gives stupid sentences, lol. OCN's translator does a good job. As for the second, I used it on the song article as it is published by Sony. Is it unreliable? And, for the tour she used a mobile stage and performed at mall parking lots, lol. They say it's a tour as it consisted of 25 dates and she toured N America :D Novice7 (talk) 10:49, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
Can you show me where it says published by Sony? — Legolas (talk2me) 10:51, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
My bad, no its reliable. — Legolas (talk2me) 10:53, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
Really? I was starting to think it's unreliable too :D I hope I can finish the article soon. Thanks for helping me out. Novice7 (talk) 11:04, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Taylor concert

Don't you live in India? Did you travel to the US just for the show? Also, I'm currently working on Fearless. Do you think the other charted songs should be mentioned? They did break a record for the most top 40s for a single a album. If so, where? -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 20:37, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

I used to stay in the US at that time. Mention a separate para for the other charted songs. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:40, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
Oh, O.K. How was it? She's not too good of singer. And in the singles section? Do you think that a "Background" section is needed. I really don't know what to write for it. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 17:19, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
Background for Fearless? Of course it is needed! I believe there are some good material in the album booklet it self as to what inspired her (Joe Jonas etc). — Legolas (talk2me) 05:51, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
Oh, maybe I wasn't making myself clear. Not the inspiration behind the songs, I mean general background info like on The Emancipation of Mimi or even Like a Virgin. I don't think there's things of that sort online. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 16:37, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
Why not? Search youtube for Swizzle's interviews, search google archives etc etc. An album of the magnitude of Fearless cannot go without a proper background. You can talk about the evolution from Taylor Swift, what changed in between she finished Taylor Swift and started work on Fearless etc. These are all that background should have. It maynot be that big, but it can certainly not get ignored and I'm 100% sure references can be found. — Legolas (talk2me) 16:44, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
I'm trying. There should be more interviews like that. Also, I really like the how the article for 21 talks about the sessions and that sort of thing, but can't seem to find anything to make the development in chronological order. Do you think FA might bitch about that? Will they be O.K. with it being in order per the track listing. Thanks :) -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 04:14, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
Well Adull yapped a lot about her album and the break-up themes etc. If Swift has done so, then it should be there. Yes FAC might snigger about it. — Legolas (talk2me) 05:10, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
She mostly discusses her material on a song by song basis. That's why it's impossible to do it like on 21. Would FAC understand that? Another thing is that 21 is based one particular break-up. Fearless is based on an unknown amount of people (there are definitely multiple guys, but the exact number isn't really discussed anywhere). -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 17:13, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Best Thing I Never Had 2

Hi Avi. Hope you and your family are fine. Should it be mention in the article that "End of Time" was initially rumored to be the second single? Jivesh Talk2Me 18:46, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Is there any reliable source detailing it? — Legolas (talk2me) 05:58, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Yes, may of them. Hmmmmm MTV news clearly states it. Jivesh Talk2Me 06:08, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Then you can add it. It kills me that the only song I like from her project, and its going down rapidly. Grrr. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:09, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Yeah. Actually i saw someone saying it on YouTube. Here it is:

"Beyonce ain't flopping cos her music sucks and doesn't have it anymore, for some reason she ain't promoting it so not many people know her music is out. so it's up to the true fans to spread the word. I've done it, how about you?"

Perhaps Beyonce should not just sit and wait for her songs to become a hit. She should promote them. And most importantly, she should re-begin employing her dad's strategy, that it, sending her singles to radio first then releasing them to digital outlets three weeks later. Jivesh Talk2Me 06:14, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Imagine if the half-assed promo she did for RTW later, she did at the beginning. RTW could have been a top-ten. And you are correct about her dad's strategy. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:22, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
YOU ARE RIGHT AS ALWAYS but some sources such as People Magazine say that Beyonce was in Europe in late April 2011 as well as May 2011 to complete the recording process of her album. She chose a very bad timing for promotion. I hope she learns form it. Legolas, be frank with me, do you think Beyonce will begin to flop like Ciara and Keri Hilson (I love these two ladies)? Jivesh Talk2Me 06:27, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Are you mad Jivesh? Why will she flop like them hoes? Beyonce's legacy is already established no-one can take it from her. Ciara, well her's is a sad story and Hilson was never successful to flop anyways. Don't ever compare Yonka with these gorls. Beysus snatched their wigs (like she did Kelly's and Michele's) like a tornado uproots a house. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:31, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
WOW your comparisons are spectacular. Di you also feel like a tornado went through you when you first met your wife? (Just joking). I really do not know what to think about it. Some websites are reporting that 4 has already shifted 120,000 copies in pre-order. Is that great news? I do not know what to think as Yonka usually shifts >>>300,000 copies or more. Jivesh Talk2Me 06:36, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Truthfully, 120,000 is a pathetic number for her. But its not confirmed right? Shipments can go up, like Gaga's did. — Legolas (talk2me) 07:24, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Yes, only 120, 000 copies have been pre-ordered. Beyonce should immediately start with her appearances on Television shows. Lol. She really needs to do that. but you know, some people say that doesn't need chart success anymore. She's already proven that she can achieve that. She is a legend now. Well i do not know how far that it rue but i do see some truth in it. Jivesh Talk2Me 07:43, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Now that's bullshit talk. Every artist loves commercial success and Knowles will be looking forward to it too. 4's success will depend on how much she invests herself in the era. — Legolas (talk2me) 07:51, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Yes, Knowles will surely go for commercial success. By the way, have you seen the clips for "Sheela Ki Jawani" and "Dum maro Dam"? Deepika Padukone dances so well. Jivesh Talk2Me 07:54, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Thats not Deepika in Sheela ki Jawani, that's Katrina Kaif. — Legolas (talk2me) 07:56, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
I was pointing at Dum Maro Dum. I like Deepika more than Katrina. The latter is more beautiful but she is not talented in my opinion. Jivesh Talk2Me 08:00, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
You are correct. Acting wise Deepika is much more talented (Personally I find her more beautiful too). Katrina is as talented as Mimi trying to dance. — Legolas (talk2me) 08:01, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
If i had to pick someone to marry form Bollywood, my choice would be Celina Jaitley. She has got real meat. Lol. What did you mean in the last part? Were you referring to Mariah Carey? Jivesh Talk2Me 08:03, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Bad choice Jivvu. Celina is just the definition of dumb beauty (runners-up Dia Mirza). Ya I referred to Mariah because she can't dance, analogy being Katrina Kaif can't act. — Legolas (talk2me) 08:05, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
I love Dia mirza but my choice is definitely Celina Jaitley. I find her beautiful. I also love Sushmita Sen, especially when she was young. Jivesh Talk2Me 08:20, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Sush is someone I really adore, damn she can be ma Suga Mama! — Legolas (talk2me) 09:04, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Hmmmmm A Suga Mama. Lol. You made me remember the three fat ladies who accompany Yonka on her tours. Jivesh Talk2Me 11:52, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
FASCIST!!!! They are voluminous, not fat!! — Legolas (talk2me) 12:03, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

A favour

Hey, I have been working extensively on the S&M article by Rihanna for about 10 days now and have had 2 fails for GA, I was wondering if you could take a look at it and tell me what else needs doing. I'm asking you because I saw you are reviewing the What's My Name? article and your review is extremely thorough and concise. calvin999 (talk) 21:38, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

I saw "S&M" article and it has greatly improved from the last two versions. But it suffers the same problems that "What's My Name?" is subjected to. Reference formattings, MoS compliance, and non-free media usage upgradation. Plus, choppy prose here and there. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:00, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
So by ref formatting you mean cite web/cite news, access dates etc for all citations? What do you mean by non-free media usage upgradation? calvin999 (talk) 10:42, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Yes that one. And by non-free media I meant that their rationale needs to be upgraded as to why those samples/pictures are needed in the article, what are they describing and how does it help a reader in understanding the article better. — Legolas (talk2me) 10:46, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Ok thanks. It's nice to know that someone thinks I have improved it this much considering this is the first article I have ever tried improving lol calvin999 (talk) 10:57, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Yes keep up the good work. — Legolas (talk2me) 10:59, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
