Denver Jade Fowler[edit]

Hi, Wikipedia has to follow copyright guidelines, and you cut-and-paste that information directly from IMDB. See Wikipedia:Copyright_violations. I suggest you follow the instructions at the top of the warning, and write the page in your own words. Cheers! --Mr. Vernon (talk) 06:53, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Referencing the IMDB is OK. Copying text is not. If you wrote it yourself, it would pass copyright, but Wikipedia also has a "notability" standard - that is, is the person important enough to have an article on Wikipedia? Read WP:BIO for more information. Good luck! --Mr. Vernon (talk) 07:02, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm sorry, but I've deleted the article as a copyright violation. We can not use copied material from other websites, and IMDb is not considered a strong source for articles as it is user submitted. In addition, the article as it was written was highly promotional and not written in an encyclopedic tone. It's fine to recreate it, but you need references about the band from places like newspapers, magazines, notable websites... you need to consider WP:MUSIC and WP:BIO as the key criteria to be considered, and be certain that the article will meet them. You may want to read this piece about creating your first article as some added information. Sorry to take out all of the work you'd done, but cutting and pasting is not how we develop our articles. Speedy deletion of Denver Jade Fowler[edit]

A tag has been placed on Denver Jade Fowler requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Guy0307 (talk) 08:26, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Denver Jade Fowler[edit]

Hi. I thought I'd add my efforts to save this article. I have deleted the Speedy Deletion notice, and given you a hand with some basic formatting. You might want to begin the proper referencing of this article by reviewing articles about other actors: Chris Cooper, Seal for examples on how these should look. Best of luck with the article, and let me know if I can be of further help. --OliverTwisted (Talk) 08:40, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad I can be of some assistance. First, let me request that you become familiar with some basics: when you want to leave a comment on talk pages (article or user) you'll want to click on the (+) or (+ new section) tab at the top of the menu to start a new topic. If you are responding, you can use ":" for the first response to indent, and then "::", ":::", as the conversation progresses. You can view my user talk page for examples.

Next, it's very important to sign all posts before publishing, with four tildes WP:SIGN. (You can see this information on the grid of links I left above). This adds your unique username, and talk page link for other editors. Bots will do this if you forget, but it could lead to a warning.

Finally, the most important feature of this article which needs to be improved, before any additional information is provided, is in-line citations for information. Also, high school achievements and awards are generally not notable. I strongly encourage you to visit the Seal (musician), Beyonce articles. You can click on the "edit" tab to view how formatting is done, although be careful not to save any edits on these pages. You can always click "cancel" on the menu, or you can "undo" your edits by clicking on the "history" tab of the article. I will help you with the article, but I'd like to see you learn how to structure references properly on your own, as a sign of good faith. Best regards. --OliverTwisted (Talk) 09:44, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, one last thing. Instead of using a website to cite references, as in "For newspaper and magazine reference articles please visit the PRESS PAGE at The Jaded's Official Website"... each newspaper should be used to support statements within the article, as explained WP:REF and WP:CITE.--OliverTwisted (Talk) 09:52, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

AfD nomination of Denver Jade Fowler[edit]

I have nominated Denver Jade Fowler, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Denver Jade Fowler. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Guy0307 (talk) 18:11, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I do not agree that my page I created for Denver Jade Fowler (my first) should be marked for deletion. Please be more specific as to why you would mark this page for deletion. He is notable and I have reviewed all of Wikipedia's guidelines and i feel my page falls under each of them. I am still working on my page I created, but with the Holidays I have been very busy and plan to return back to it asap. Please remove your AfD nomination. Thank you. --Lauraskaiser (talk) 17:36, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
