Hi Folks, I've been doing a lot of work expanding the article on Frieda Belinfante. Frieda was very unusal person and my first piano teacher. Amazingly, there's bunches of material available now about her and her activities during the war that simply were not available, at all, when I first knew her. It's really cool! Hi, Laguna greg. Thanks for developing the Frieda Belinfante article. Well done! I was previously unaware of her or the connection to Laguna Beach -- but she was quite a fascinating person -- and deserves a quality page.

However, I do have a problem with the intro sentence and the last paragraph of the The Orange County Philharmonic section which states Belinfante was fired because of her lesbianism. This information is referenced to an unpublished source -- and that fails our policy on WP:RS. Especially when reliable sources offer a different version. (e.g., "Belinfante left the Philharmonic Society in 1962, when, she said, the board decided to import big-name orchestras rather than cultivate a local symphony." LA Times, 1988, "A bigger obstacle was the unwillingness by the community to support a woman conductor; even members of her own board suggested it was time to bring in a man. 'There wasn't strong support for a woman to be in the public. Old-timers were very staunch supporters of me. Elaine Redfield, who has always been a very faithful friend, fought for me but lost.' LA Times, 1987) She confirms this in this 1994 interview. Although in the Muller interview, she discusses her belief that gossip about her sexual orientation was a factor in her contract not being renewed, there is no factual evidence of this.

Therefore, the article must state the facts as presented by the reliable published sources. At best, we can also add a sentence like: In a 1994 interview, Belifante said she suspected her contract was not renewed due to gossip about sexual orientation. Then reference it to page 66 of the Muller Interview. But without a reliable published secondary source, the text as currently written does not meet Wikipedia policy for WP:RS or WP:V. I'm just wondering about your diacritics on "École Nôrmale de Mûsique" on your user page. École Normale de Musique seems to do without the circumflexes.
