Proposed deletion of Bentworth road[edit]

The article Bentworth road has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Apparently unremarkable London street.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi McGeddon. The article Bentworth road I created yesterday was only a start. Since your review, I have tried to address your concerns by adding more contents and references into the article to improve its remarkability. Do you mind reviewing it and let me know your feedback. If possible, please consider remove your proposed deletion. Thank you.L0001d (talk) 11:51, 6 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Sorry, perhaps that message was a bit terse. The article needs to show why the road is more significant than the average London street, and to back that up with reliable published sources, such as books and newspaper articles that have written about the road in some detail. We could easily fill Wikipedia with a short article about every street in London, without that yardstick.
Category:Roads in London (which I've just added your article to) has links to comparable Wikipedia articles about other streets in the city, to give you some idea of the typical level of depth and significance required.
Hello. Thank you for your reply. I have checked some roads in the category and I think Bentworth Road is not comparable at all. Therefore I agree with your deletion proposal.— Preceding unsigned comment added by L0001d (talkcontribs) 16:22, 6 March 2015‎
Thanks for being gracious about it! I hope you manage to find some other local articles to work on. Category:London stubs might be of interest - a list of London-related articles (including some streets) which need expanding. --McGeddon (talk) 16:37, 6 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
