Hi I know it has been some time but I would like to know why the "SGRainbow" page is deemed inappropriate. Thank you! Koonda (talk) 00:11, 30 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Well, if you look at the deletion log and the numerous messages on your talk page, I'm sure you'll have no difficulty in understanding. Wikipedia is not the place to promote a non-profit movement, club, or website. Sorry, but I have tagged the recreated article for deletion again. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 11:18, 2 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Vanz Boys"[edit]

Hi Kudpung. Vanz boys is up for speedy deletion, and may well be deleted by the time you read this. I've searched English language reliable sources - nothing at all in the Bangkok Post website - and can't find any mentions of substance. The article exists on the Thai Wikipedia. I don't even know how Thai script works, let alone knowing even simple words in Thai. Could you possibly have a look into this? Pete AU aka --Shirt58 (talk) 09:41, 30 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Shirt. I've had a look. I couldn't be bothered to use my time or skills with Thai language to look much further. This kind of blatant planting of a very bad machine translation into en.Wiki rather annoys me. It's almost impossible to do a coherent machine translation from Thai to English and it is absolutely not within our mandate here to even try to clean anything like this up. Delete it. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 11:08, 2 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Lawrence North High School deletion[edit]

Hi, My name is Matthew Dietz and i am the person who edited the Lawrence North High School Notable Alumni. I realize that some of my entry was a personal opinion, but was wondering how i go about making a permanent edit? I, in fact, am an Alumni from the school. Notable alumni?? Well, after my career in the Marines, I am back in Indianapolis and surrounding area getting my Stand Up comedy career going. I understand i am not "Notable" quite yet, but having it in "writing" on Wikipedia allows me more "street cred"....as stupid as that sounds, ha. Just get back to me at your convenience.

Thanks!

Hi. Short answer (and I am sure that I already answered this somewhere): You don't. Wikipedia is an encycopedia and not a place where you can boast "Hey, I'm on Wikipedia". If you want publicity try Facebook or get your own website. Also, you don't write about yourself on Wikipedia. If someday someone thinks you are important enough, they will write the article. Good luck with your career :) Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 21:40, 6 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My Admin Application[edit]

Hello im here to discuss my application to be an admin like you mentioned on my talk page Zafiraman Lets talk about it 01:11, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Zafiraman, thank you enormously for volunteering to answer a few questions on RfA, this will help me determine any new future improvements to RfA that I may propose. First off, two quick questions:
  1. Do you find the transclusion itself particularly complex and/or confusing?
  2. Could you list the actual advice pages, if any, that you read before attempting to transclude an RfA?
--Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 01:23, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Kudpung:

To question 1 I find it hard and confusing as the page asks for a template to be substituted but I can never find the template in the article and it is quite frustrating to be honest

To question 2 I looked at WP:Requests for adminship and then followed the instructions from there, and then was editing a page explaining my application

Thanks hope to chat again Zafiraman Lets talk about it 06:47, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Zafiraman. There is no need to ping me if you are already writing on my talk page. A 'ping' is to call someone's attention to something you are writing elsewhere. You will also want to read Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines and WP:Don't lose the thread (which I wrote}. So far so good, now four more very quick questions:
  1. At WP:RfA did you see this section: Nomination standards ?
  2. Have you ever voted at a) RfA, b) AfD ?
  3. Have you ever done any NPP or vandal patrol?
  4. Do you use a computer or some kind of mobile device (tablet, phone, etc)?
Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 09:18, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Question 1, Yes I did read the nomination standards Question 2, I haven't voted at either of them Question 3, I haven't participated in those Question 4, I use a computer and a tablet.

Thanks again Zafiraman Lets talk about it 23:15, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi Zafiraman I apologise for taking a while to get back to you. Some last questions:
  1. As you did not read this page, how do think we can better draw candidates attention to it so that they read it?
  2. When you attempted to transclude your RfA, what was your reaction when you saw the final warning?
  3. Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give to a potential admin candidate who has been a registered user for less than 3 months and who has made less than 3,000 edits to mainspace?

--Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 15:13, 18 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Question 1 : I would say that you could strongly recommend to them they read it before making any request(s)
  • Question 2 : My reaction was surprise as at the time I was editing the page to make my request that was why it may have been blank.
  • Question 3 : I would say I was happy and appreciated that they wanted to contribute that extra bit more, but the fact that they had only been on the Wikipedia for a short time would tell them they would need more experience before becoming an admin

Zafiraman Lets talk about it 20:15, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much Zafiraman. Your answers have been a great help for my research. Best wishes for the upcoming holidays. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:57, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

VBHC[edit]

hi,

with reference to my page "VBHC" this was deleted with the following message "Unambiguous advertising or promotion". However i would like to state that i have not added any promotional offers on the page. I have only given infomation about the company and can also provide you the reference if neccessary. This was my first attempt in creating a page. Kindly advise me on how i can create the page without the risk of deletion.

Thanks... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sreeja2812 (talkcontribs) 12:24, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Unfortunately the article does not need to make any 'offers;'to be promotional, Any article about a business that uses descriptions and adjectives to improve or highlight its image is promotional. Wikipedia is not a business listing web site, all subjects must be notable. It may in fact pass our notability standards, but it fails on the way it reverts to promotional English. You are welcome to recreate the article as a WP:Draft and rewrite it for neutrality. You can then submit it to the draft reviewers at the WP:Articles for Creation department. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 12:40, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Recover the deletion of Spider Monkey Optimization[edit]

HI, Spider Monkey Optimization is a new area of research under swarm intelligence. it is a broad field to discover new ideas or algorithm. this content was not available on wiki page that's why i uploaded some content here. it will be helpful for all, they are interested to know in this field. it has few content uploaded here and i am working progressively to add more content here related to this topic. i know it will be more helpful for users. Precisely, Michael, you have spent so much time building your user page that you even slandered yourself by adding the sockpuppet template to it and then promptly forgot THIS edit you made to someone else's user page. I rather think you have shot yourself in the foot. If you need any help understanding Wiki markup and page histories, or adding content to articles, don't hesitate to ask me. Can I be nominated for Administrator[edit]

If not, pls explain why I am always looking out to contribute more to Wikipedia regards, daniel sun DanDan0101 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:DanDan0101

Hi. If you check out this link (it may b take up to 3 minutes to load), and then thoroughly read this and faithfully follow all the links and advice in it, you soon understand that you still have quite a long way to go before the community will consider you for adminship. Do bear in mind that nobody should really join Wikipedia with the intention of wanting to be an admin. These things come after a long time, a lot of experience, and have gained a lot of respect from a lot of other experienced users and admins. You first need to brush up on the basic use of Wiki mark-up and how we format and sign messages on talk pages. Then check out all those messages on your talk page and find out why you are getting them.--Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 05:44, 18 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Request for assistance from an administrator experienced in certain areas.[edit]

Hey there Kudpung! I'm wondering if you have any time to mentor me or at very least give me your personal review? I'm fairly certain that mentoring me will be a simple task based on my experience here on enwp. My goal is to take a run at the admin bit so that I may expand my horizons doing my technical work and expand into doing more other maintenance type things around the encyclopedia. I'm in no hurry, and have no plans to run in the next six months, so we have plenty of time to work on things. Based on my 69 support votes for ArbCom and my recent activities (which has been mostly completing admin tasks without the bit), I was thinking that about seven or eight months from now would be just about the right time to give it a shot. If you're interested and willing, please email me and we can discuss it. Thanks! — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 04:34, 18 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Technical 13. Unlike political suffrage where the electorate only votes for a candidate, our Wikipedia elections are both a popularity and unpopularity contest. Every RfA or Arbcom election therefore tells a story, so what you need to be looking at is not necessarily the number of 'for' votes, but also the number of 'against' votes. If someone who has run for Arbcom who is not yet an admin later runs for adminship, what they need to do is improve their 'popularity' because every vote on a Arbcom election is a potential vote at RfA and that's a lot more editors than usually turn out for an RfA.
Now with that said, if you have followed everything I have said over the years about RfA and adminship (being one of biggest loud-mouths on the subject) you'll see that I generally don't support the notion of preparing candidates for adminship. I contend that anyone who wants to be an admin already has the personal qualities, and if they are low on experience they know where and how to get it. You already have a vast experience on Wikipedia so I can assure you that the best way to prepare yourself for adminship at this stage is to do your own homework, reflect on your own content contributions and interaction with others. All you need to do is read this and faithfully follow all the links and advice in it. I wrote it and over the years it's become practically mandatory diet for aspiring sysops. You will also find this very interesting. Regards, --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 05:28, 18 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thank you very much for your candor, I will certainly read over those pages again and try to find some more areas I can improve in. Content generation isn't my strong suit, but there are other areas I feel I excel at. I am one of the top ten account creators, I've responded to the most PER requests since the ability to track those responses (via Jackmcbarn's Edit Protected Helper script), and I've been very busy with taking over maintenance of some of Equazcion's userscripts (most notably, OneClickArchiver). I've also been spending quite a bit of time trimming down the backlogs on ANRFC. I'm guessing all of these things will improve my chances of being successful at RfA. — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 06:12, 18 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This has got nothing to do with me
:::Technical 13, your appearance at Wikipedia talk:Administrators' noticeboard/Requests for closure § NAC Deletes is not helping at all. You should steer clear of closing any discussion where a hot-button issue like Rape is part of the discussion. See User:Kudpung/RfA criteria § My criteria item #25: No unnecessary 'clerking' of admin areas. Just stop, please. Wbm1058 (talk) 19:59, 18 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • First, Wbm1058, you should realize that a discussion about the closure of a specific RfC about a redirect closed as merge should not be happening in the middle of an RfC about NAC XfD delete closings. I take some responsibility for that since it accidentally got scooped into the other three discussions about the NAC delete closings. As such, I intend to move that discussion back to my talk page where it started. That doesn't excuse you from your comment that was entirely too personal and inappropriate into the section. When I move the discussion back to my talk page, I intend to close it, and you will be more than welcome to open a new discussion at the appropriate forum to request a review of the closing. As you may have noticed, I'm actually not discussing it further at this point, as there seem to be multiple other contributors to the discussion already that seem to think my closure was fair and reasonable based on the discussion in that RfC. — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 20:21, 18 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled[edit]

If you have any additional comments on that application at WP:PERM/A, I am all ears; I was left with a general impression that there is no need to grant the rights at this time, but would be interested in any additional insight you might have. I reviewed five recent page creations ... Go Phightins! 04:37, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Go Phightins!. Your assessment there is perfectly accurate but you can actually be a lot bolder with these PERM requests. The fact that I said 'in depth review recommended' is one of my secret signals not to accord the right. When I review requests for autopatroller, I systematically review up to around the most recent 100 creations (if there are so many), paying careful attention to search for COPYVIO or POV, and checking out sources. All creations have to be perfect leaving nothing for a conscientious NPPer to tag, except for that stupid 'orphan' tag. There may also be exceptions if inappropriate content was added later by other users, but it's generally rare. All that said, because autopatrolled is a flag and not a 'right' per se, it's almost always simple hat collecting. All the best for the coming holidays :) Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:51, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Response to talk page comment[edit]

I have no connection to User:Everymorning but he or she copyied part of the draft article and moved it to main space rather then adding the new information to the draft article A8v (talk) 13:51, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Pelretin[edit]

You moved this article to draft space and it was immediately re-created here.... wierd. Jytdog (talk) 14:02, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yeah, I wasn't trying to create it, I was trying to expand and add sources to it, but when Kudpung moved it to draft space apparently he also moved all of A8v's contributions from the article to the draft, making it look like I created it. At least that's my best understanding of it. Everymorning talk 14:05, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, very weird, but I will AGF on these explanations because I was almost ready to start an SPI. This issue will teach both editors not to start developing new articles in mainspace where they are likely to be tagged for deletion by inexperienced, trigger-happy New Page Patrollers, as was the case with the article I rescued and moved to draft. We need scienfific articles like these - keep up the good work. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 14:07, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
thanks both of you.. but we still have the article in both draft space and main space.... Jytdog (talk) 14:41, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yup! And I'm the one with the deletion tool. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 15:01, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Just happened by on an unrelated matter and this caught my eye. Glad to see somebody down on being trigger-happy. Should an admin be contacted to merge the edit histories? --Andreas Philopater (talk) 16:49, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Good question - but don't ask me, I tried something like that a few years ago and made a complete mess of it. It's a very specialised operation. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 17:01, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Parinoush Saniee - new entry that you keep removing[edit]

I'm trying to create a new entry for my sister who is an author but you keep saying what I've put down is similar to what her literary agent has on her web site. I've tried to remove as much of it as possible and just left basic description of her books but you keep picking on this entry. I don't know what else to do? Regards Darren

Hi Darren. Time permitting, I pick on up to two or three hundred articles in a day's shift. Unfortunately, as I have previously explained, neither you or anyone else who is closely related to the subject should be creating or editing the article at all. Again, please see WP:COI, and also understand that for copyright reasons we can't accept content from other websites. I'll take another look at what you have done now but I can't promise anything. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 17:28, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dear sir / madam, you said in response to my previous defence of this new entry that "Unfortunately these are the very reasons why neither you nor the agent should be creating or editing this article at all. " I'm creating this new entry for my sister who lives in Iran and can't do this herself. So if neither I nor her agent can create an entry, then who can? What am I doing wrong? Regards Darren

I've taken another look and I'm afraid that by our standards it's also still highly promotional, as evidenced by the links to all her agents and for contacting her directly. Unfortunately this is not how an encyclopedia works. You must read WP:COI and WP:COPYVIO. I fully sympathise with your sister but although Wikipedia is the encyclopedia anyone can edit, it's not the ecyclopedia anyone can add just anything to; we have rules and some of them are governed by national and international copyright laws, and that means any content on other websites unless they are publicly declared free of copyright by the site owner by citing one of the licences for free use. I've put a copyvio 'warning' on your talk page, please read it, it will give you a lot more background and how you might be able, under some circumstances, to write the article yourself in your own words and providing reliable, independewnt, 3rd party sources. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 17:48, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Channer. Seems OK to me. Unfortunately image copyright is not my area of specialisation. Best thing to do there is to ask the people at Commons. You could also simply upload it with what you feel to be an appropriate rationale for its use; you'll soon get a deletion message from them if it isn't allowed. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:02, 23 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Patrol[edit]

Hello. Thank you for your comments on my talk page. I have thoroughly read all policies. When new page patrolling I tend to do only the blatant vandalism, nonsense or otherwise obvious infringements. Again, thank your for your comments. TheMagikCow (talk) 19:57, 22 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I would rather you stopped patrolling new pages and concentrated on vandalism instead. Theoretically you still don't have the required experience to even enroll at the WP:CVUA to learn how to do that. Borbánya is an example of an article you recently patrolled that is far to complicated for you, and which can only be patrolled by an expert. Just as an example, not only am I possibly one of the most experienced admins, but I am also a retired professor of linguistics and it still took me at least 10 minutes to do everything that was needed for that page. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 01:02, 23 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. It is unlikely that this article will ever be an encyclopedic entry on Wikipedia. It is your own research (See WP:OR) and it fails notability by not having in-depth coverage in multiple, reliable, 3rd party independent sources (ee; WP:RS).
