Kosovo Blackbird[edit]

Hi, thanks for the message. While I don't doubt that your edit was in good faith, there were two problems.

Common Blackbird is a Featured Article, which amongst other things means that everything must be referenced to independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts.
I looked at the Kosovo article to see if there was a reference there, and there was. At first sight it looked plausible, linked to a website purportedly belonging to an academic. When I read the text, however, it was clearly written from a highly pro-Serbian viewpoint. That makes it unsuitable as a neutral reference, and also suggests that the origin of the name is not universally accepted, since he seems to imply that there is an alternative view that the name is of Albanian origin. The point of his page is to belittle that view.

Servo logo and license[edit]

Hello. A few days ago I created a new article about Servo, the browser engine. One of things that is worth to place in infobox is a logo. Fortunately someone — you — already uploaded the Servo logo, so me and other users don't have to upload it to use it. Unfortunately you didn't specify the license for this file (look into section ″Image without license″ on your user talk) and therefore it can be used only on English Wikipedia, which is kinda useless since it's distributed under a free license (more specifically under the Mozilla Public License). Could you specify the license for that file, please?

Thanks for your fast response. Do you know if files uploaded on Wikipedia are automatically transferred to Wikimedia Commons? I'm just asking :) Additionally this web page says something like this:

A file uploaded to Commons only has to be uploaded and maintained once, as opposed to dozens of times for each individual Wiki.

Does it mean that if you uploaded a file e.g. on English Wikipedia, other wikis can't use it? It seems that's why I don't have the ability to use it on the Polish Wikipedia. And I wasn't right before, when I talked about a license. GregX21 (talk) 22:00, 13 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

while no doubt our dear Mellk has done plenty of good work on WP (and for this i am grateful)) they seem also to love to revert and undo others' work, including reverting and undoing work that furthers the mission of the project. in the spirit of that mission, do we have credible sources to support the claims:

- that the term Muscovite was not only a term that foreigners used to refer to inhabitants of Muscovy

(in other words was only an exonym or was it also an endonym or both or neither)

- that the term Muscovite was banned by Catherine (the 1st or 2nd?) by the late 18th century

also the term Moskal (disambiguation). what information do we have on the historical and contemporary usage of this term?
