Orphaned non-free media (Image:INCA Internet Wiki.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:INCA Internet Wiki.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:37, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your user subpage at User:Kevinkph85, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's user page guideline. After you look over that guideline, could we discuss that concern here? I'd appreciate hearing your views, such as your reasons for wanting this particular page and any alternatives you might accept.

There are several options available for resolving this matter:

  • If you can relieve my concerns through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.
  • If you decide to delete the page yourself, please add {{Db-userreq}} to the top of the page in question and an administrator will delete it.
  • If the two of us can't agree on what needs to be done, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's user pages for discussion, which may result in the page in question being deleted.

As per Wikipedia user page guidelines, your user page is not for content that is meant to be part of the encyclopedia. Fair-use images, too, cannot be used in userpages. Xeltran (talk) 09:47, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of NProtect GameGuard, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: GameGuard. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. August 2008[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give ‎NProtect GameGuard a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is considered undesirable because it splits the page history which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Image:GGP_UpdateUtility.jpg[edit]

I have tagged Image:GGP_UpdateUtility.jpg as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. If this image is being used as a link target instead of displayed inline, please add {{not orphan}} to the image description page to prevent it being accidentally marked as orphaned again. Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from INCA Internet. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Use of Wikipedia as a promotional tool[edit]

Hi Kevinkph85, welcome to Wikipedia! Are you in any way affiliated with INCA Internet or involved in the marketing of its product, such as NProtect GameGuard/NProtect GameGuard Personal 2007 ? If that is the case, please be aware that Wikipedia is not a free advertising space, have a look at Wikipedia:FAQ/Business (especially the section "May I advertise my company or product on Wikipedia?"). AfD nomination of INCA Internet[edit]

I have nominated INCA Internet, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/INCA Internet. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
