Ok, well to tell the truth, he vandalized my page once, than he vandalized my talk page. Buth times my page has been vandalized is because I would revert their vandalism on the Miles "Tails" Prower page, and then they would come and vandalise my page. So a semi-protect sounds good. Ok, I will clean up my post, but I am fed up with his half assed pics. It has me really aggrivated. He doesn't read or respond to our posts about his pics, we created the RfC, and he ignored it, no matter how much we encouraged him to read and post on it, and now he changed his name to bull-dozer just so we won't call himn on his bad pics, it has gotten me really mad! Hey, your the guy who was changing the photo for the Zastava Koral info box at the Zastava Koral Article. You say that the car needs to be seen from the front in the photo, right? Ford Taurus

I was just wondering why you reverted my edit to the Future section of this page. If you look at this page, it is clear that Fusion and Five Hundred sales are outpacing Taurus by a few thousand units. In addition, the source you quote repeatedly in the section is not credible: the title of the article is Ford Taurus RIP, suggesting bias towards the Taurus from line one. Taurus in successful cars

Karmann, did you write this? For a fellow complaining about my POV, this had some serious issues, and I've just noticed you largely reverted, including a cited reference to protect it from being deleted by bullies. You deleted a lot of information and re-inserted POV and some pretty trivial details about what the car really did (which was redefine the midsize segment and lead it) I will give you the opportunity to merge these together again before I simply revert it. I had a 89 Taurus, nice car to drive but a nightmare to fix, late 80s tauruses had and still have pretty low resale values compared to Japanese cars. I would recommend starting with my version, and adding what you feel is missing that needs to be there. I would appreciate your not siding with the bullies who are upset that I am not simply backing down and walking away like a sane person should. You should also cite where #4 comes from, near as I can tell you are citing the top selling list, not the best source, but not completely invalid either. If it sounded more like the Top whatever guy from UK, it would be huge improvement as your tone isn't much different, and the facts not nearly as straight. --matador300 19:55, 28 July 2006 (UTC)


1986- present: "The Taurus' stellar success sparked..." + The Ford Taurus is a midsize sedan made by Ford Motor Company. The Taurus leaped over almost every bar set for sedans at the time, and formed a design revolution that ended the boxy looking cars coming from the big three. The Taurus was also sporty and fun to drive, and it had cockpit like controls, making it an effective import fighter, and the first time in the 80s that America successfully fought the Japanese. Also the Taurus brought around some design features that we can still find in todays cars, such as the lock and window buttons having a raised and lowered pump in them so they can be operated without taking your eyes off the road. The Taurus also had a CD ratio of just .18, making it the most aerodynamic American mass produced car, until Ford broke their own record with the Probe. The Taurus also pioneered in build quality in domestic built cars, as american cars at the time were known for sloppy handling, and poor build quality, which the Taurus didn't have. It was built to high standards of quality, and Ford spent millions of dollars on upgrading their plants to make this happen. Mixing all these things together, the Taurus ended up being a tremendous success, and it is still in production today, 21 years and 7,000,000 units later. The Taurus is the 4th best selling Ford model of all time, behind only the F-150, Model T and the Mustang - The Ford Taurus is a midsize sedan made by Ford Motor Company. Launched after the aero Audi 5000, the Taurus CD ratio is just .18. The GM A-bodied Celebrity and sisters introduced the FWD midsized car and they had sold well. But with a classic horizontal speedometer and dash out of a '65 Impala, they did not have the style of the Taurus. The Taurus, with the Thunderbird led a design revolution which replace the boxy Fairmonts and LTDs (and inspired a generation of blobby looking Japanese sedans). The SHO was a powerful and sporty sedan. America's best selling car even forced Honda to size up its own dedicated North American Honda Accord platform. The Taurus improved build quality in domestic built cars, though it was never to catch up in resale values with Honda or Toyota. Ford spent millions of dollars on upgrading their plants to make this happen. Management in 1996 dictated that the car should follow its logo, but the ovoid styling theme turned many off, and it fell behind the Accord and Camry even after the styling themes were toned down. Nevertheless it is still in production today as a fleet special, and remains on the recommended list by Consumer Reports, 21 years and 7,000,000 units later. Relative to other top Ford nameplates, most Americans would be surprised to hear the low key family Taurus is the 4th best selling Ford model of all time, behind only the F-150, Model T and the Mustang

I don't understand at all. First you contribute to this article, and then you nominate it for deletion?? It's sourced, and can certainly be edited to reduce any perceived point of view. Certainly Jeremy Clarkson is a better writer than most of the Wp editors. I hope you realize that you've employed one of the tactics I've identified as characteristic of bullies. Personally, I think it would have been better if you hadn't been incivil towards him. I know he's made you mad, but it doesn't help the situation if you go and call his edits "crap" or something. I think he was right warning you about losing your cool, but he could have done without the age discrimination (he has done the same to me) or personal attacks. Next time, if someone leaves you a message that you think is offending you, don't bother responding to it. It also helps to try to take your mind off the conflict at hand and go edit something else; I use this approach if I get into a heated dispute. --ApolloBoy 01:47, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

I will use the Taurus pic, as it is about time that someone made a good pic of a 1st gen. A Contour image is not needed, as the one up for deletion has been replaced. Honda CRX

Hi Karmann,

Could you explain why you put stats and expert tags on the Honda CRX page?

While there is a good deal of statistics, I don't believe it is excessive for a car article. There is also a good deal of non statistical information at the beginning of the article.

Perhaps you could comment on the discussion page rather than just slapping tags up.

While the Tarus artice is longer and more detailed, it contains far more stats than the CRX article (eg there is a large amount of hp and torque specs) . I do admit CRX needs a bit of cleanup, but I don't think the statistical content is vastly different to any other car article.


I don't see your point - there are more stats in the Taurus artice, but not as a bulleted list. I could combine the stats into a table so they take up less space, yet still have the same information, or I could write it in paragraph form without adding value to the article. Like I said, the article could do with a bit of a clean up, but I don't see the statistical informaiton as being excessive.

Plymouth Breese is a Cult Car?!?!

It's not just the breeze itself, I tagged all the cloud cars with the category, aas the cloud cars have a cult following. somebody removed the category from the Dodge Stratus and Chrysler Cirrus.
I think pretty much any car will have a cult following of some sort, so I suggest you only use the category for cars that have a cult following large enough (i.e. Ford Mustang, Mitsubishi Eclipse) to justify the category. I wouldn't describe the following that the 'cloud cars' have as a cult. Just about every car has an owners club - but do they have huge rallys with thousands of cars showing up? Do club members get together regularly and drive their cars around in great convoys? Are the cars customised - sometimes bizarrely? Did they make movies specifically about the car? Do large numbers of people restore old ones? If the answers to any of these things is "No" then I would definitely say it's not a cult thing...and even if the answer is "Yes" - I'd be really cautious about the difference between "Popular", "Loved" and "Cultish". People have to practically worship the car - be blind to it's faults - perhaps even love it because of it's faults. They have to devote their every spare moment to doing something to, with or about the car. I'm a self-confessed classic Mini cultist - and the level of fanaticism my car engenders amongst cult members could certainly be described as 'cultish' - but I've never even heard of someone who thought of the Breeze as anything other than a way to get from A to B. It seems about as far away from being a cult car as I could possibly imagine! SteveBaker 16:57, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
I think a fair rule is that only cars that have been called a cult car, even if by Jeremy Clarkson, should qualify for inclusion as cult cars.
