Dated text[edit]

Hi KOT-TOK, just a very minor thing, its better to use an actual year rather than a construction such as "five years ago" in an article, e.g. as you did in the article Royal Saudi Strategic Missile Force, in a year or two years time the words "five years ago" will mean 2009, 2010 and so on. In this case it is obvious and easy to fix because its a new article, but in an older article with lots of edits it would have taken more effort to locate the diff and to insert the correct year.--KTo288 (talk) 17:18, 23 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My reason for using this picture is the following: the article purpose is to show that the Commander Jarallah Alaluwayt is official person, open for public, not a top-secret commander. He is in a very unique position - he is the only one (probably the first) Commander of Strategic Missile Force in Arab and Muslim world.

The vpk-news.com articles cite no sources for the numbers, only the General's own speculation. That the General said this is not in question, he wrote the article. But to then put his numbers in the article requires secondary sources or another form of confirmation. Addition of original research[edit]

Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Murder of Sarah Halimi. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. As editors we can't decide what is a similar crime, we need independent sources meeting WP:RS making the link. - You didn't follow my advice, you replaced material deleted as it had no sources linking it directly to the subject of the article. This isn't censorship, this is a matter of Wikipedia policy. Please read the links I gave you above. Worse, you marked your edits as minor edits, suggesting to other editors that all you had done was perhaps correct some grammar or spelling. This was noted by the editor who reverted you again for the same reason I removed the material. As for the Streisand effect, as an WP:Administrator I have the ability to hide material so that other editors cannot see it the way that they can see ordinarily deleted material. As an WP:Arbitrator I have WP:Oversight so I can hide material from other Administrators. We often have to warn editors about the Streisand effect, I did that yesterday. While we can describe the notable conflicting information of reliable sources, we should let the reader decide what to do of it. For instance, we have a source which says that it is not an antisemitic crime, we have others which describe controversy about this. Wikipedia's voice cannot take one side but can simply report neutrally about both aspects. I can read French and started copy-editing the article, but it's not done yet; some inline sources also do not directly verify the text. —Paleo Neonate - 17:31, 3 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have nothing against other sources (which says that it is not an antisemitic crime or describe controversy about this). Please, add it. I am not against somebody add it to the article. I am against the harsh censorship on certain "politically correct" issues and just above Doug Weller quite open and straightforward (which I found really amazing and really thankful for that!) mentioned that he had the power to do such a censorship: "I have the ability to hide material so that other editors cannot see it the way that they can see ordinarily deleted material." Not material like that. It looks like you didn't bother to read the link I provided, which clearly says it should be "used within strict limits to protect privacy, remove defamatory material, and sometimes to remove serious copyright violations, from any page or log entry". If I used it to remove content from articles like this content which isn't within those criteria I'd have oversight taken away. My point in saying that is to explain that I am one of the most trusted editors on Wikipedia and to explain about my knowledge of the Streisand effect and its relevance to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not censored - see WP:Censored, but it is a real encyclopedia and we have policies and guidelines about what can be included in articles. A basic one is WP:VERIFY and we do not allow editors to violate it. I have no idea why you are talking about "politically correct", want to explain that? Thank you for the explanations. The problem are definitions itself! For example what do you mean under "defamatory material"? Nearly everything can be called defamatory - it depends on local society moral, religious sights, state and media ideology, elementary school program, someones mentality issues. The simple example of modern "politically correct" issues is in the first edits of my A.U.E. article - I mean the part about EU immigrant youth gangs ( https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=A.U.E.&oldid=790926022#2._European_immigrant_youth_gangs ). Please, note one thing: I have never mentioned in that part ethnicity/nationality or religion of these gang's members. Yet, everybody understood clearly whom I meant! But the right guess about the majority of these gangs in EU can be wrong in some cases. There are some other immigrant youth gangs in Madrid too: ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/6286977.stm or http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/22/world/europe/22iht-spain.4295237.html) - completely different nationality and religion. Another, very interesting thing: in the next part ( https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=A.U.E.&oldid=790926022#3._Gypsy_.28Romani_people.29_theft_gangs_.28leagues.29 ) I mentioned Gypsy. Might be considered defamatory as well, at least by Gypsy. Would be perfectly logical to react on that issue too. But nobody reacted! It's not so important subject, not so "politically correct" as migration to EU and as fake "unaccompanied minors".
