Friday the 13th[edit]

I've been working on that page in my sandbox for some time (I have a lot of production information that I'm going to add), and the critical reception information is scarce. Rotten Tomatoes doesn't help because the movie is waay too old for them to have record of the original reviews. I'm going to try some archive searches through my university searhc engine, when I get to that point. I still have to finish setting up the production information first.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 11:24, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just keep doing what you're doing. Most of your edits have been good, just watch how much you take from the franchise article because we don't want to duplicate too much. I purposefully left stuff out of the franchise article so that we wouldn't duplicate anything, but you know what I mean. I'll try and finish adding all the production info to my sandbox and refine it enough to get it in the article. Then we can worry about tweaking the wording here and there.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 11:48, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've got tons in my sandbox already, and some that I haven't gotten around to putting in there yet. My sandbox will cover: Development, Casting, Writing, Filming, Special Effects, and Music (some of these we alredy have). I also have a really cool picture of the diagram they made when coming up with Kevin Bacon's death scene.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 11:50, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Where do you think I got the information to write Jason Voorhees. ;) lol. I have that one as well as David Grove's more poorly written Making Friday the 13th: The Legend of Camp Blood. I've only recently finished going through the first film's chapters in his book (I chose to do his first, as far as film information goes, because it's not nearly has well organized as Peter Bracke's book, which will be far easier to find information from).  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 02:46, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I hope you don't mind that I removed the unsourced info from the box office section. It's all good if we can get sources for it, but since there weren't any at the moment I figured it was best to just remove it for the time being. I do have a source for the bit in the sequel section about Cunningham not wanting to use Jason in the sequel, I just need to go find it and add it in.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 02:49, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's fine. When I was cleaning up the lead and adding some information I must have removed it in the process by accident. A lot of it was the same information I had in my sandbox, except I didn't have the remake info because when I created the sandbox originally there wasn't even a remake discussion going on. As far as sourcing goes, it isn't a controversial statement, not like citing a specific number or a quote.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 03:21, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, just so you understand better, since I've been saying "my sandbox" a lot; this is what I'm referring to, in case you didn't already know, as "my sandbox.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 03:23, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Self-references[edit]

Please don't start an article with 'This article', like you did in List of Kath & Kim characters or DVD releases of Kath & Kim. Self-references should be avoided in Wikipedia. Ian (87.205.186.112 (talk) 10:49, 30 March 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Kathandkim.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Kathandkim.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 17:22, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Twin Peaks[edit]

I'm appreciating your interest in the Twin Peaks article. Breaking the characters section looks good to me too. Some characters' articles were tagged with a proposal to create a single article for minor characters. I was thinking of an article titled Minor characters of Twin Peaks or something like that. What do you think of combining some of the minor ones in that way? Or perhaps just having a Minor Characters section of the Characters of Twin Peaks article that you started and pull that detail into there now instead? A few of the minor characters' articles are super small and will never be expanded, seems like a good idea to combine them. - Owlmonkey (talk) 05:02, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good to me. Then have a section for major characters which also links via the more template to their main articles, presumably. The chart is I think pretty handy, showing the family relationships. But then we can unwiki the minor characters there and just treat them in the minor character section instead. - Owlmonkey (talk) 13:25, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Copyrighted images[edit]

Do not add copyrighted images to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did on Winona Ryder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images borrowed from other web sites, printed material, films, or other sources; such additions will be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously. Note that Wikipedia policy does not allow use of a non-free image on the page of a living person. Image copyright problem with Image:Papillons.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Papillons.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 04:53, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Beetlejuicewinonaryder.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Beetlejuicewinonaryder.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Hi[edit]

Provide sources[edit]

You've been adding unsourced claims to a lot of articles. Please do not make claims about a film director's intentions, characteristics of a mental disorder, or alleged critical acclaim without providing proper sources. Even when sources are provided, information may be removed when it is trivial or pushes a particular interpretation or perspective. Doczilla STOMP! 11:15, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre[edit]

Hi, I appreciate your edits on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre article, but without referenced statements, I've had no choice but to revert it. Also, could you please not remove internal wiki-links without any reason at all. Also renaming headers for no logical reason is unacceptable. Thanks,--EclipseSSD (talk) 08:59, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Blue Velvet scene.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Blue Velvet scene.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. SchuminWeb (Talk) 01:53, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
