GA reassessment of Homework (album)[edit]

I have conducted a reassessment of the above article as part of the GA Sweeps process. I have found some concerns which you can see at Talk:Homework (album)/GA1. I have placed the article on hold whilst these are fixed. Thanks. Jezhotwells (talk) 14:43, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Disco house, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Disco house (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Ridernyc (talk) 04:34, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Therickypowell.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Therickypowell.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FinalRapture - 17:20, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What is "m" supposed to mean?[edit]

You really don't make any sense when it comes to your edits. --70.127.203.117 (talk) 15:19, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In the context of my edit descriptions, "m" means "minor edit". Please remain civil, please use the corresponding talk pages of articles to discuss edit desputes, and please refrain from using the edit description field for tangential discussion. just64helpin (talk) 16:16, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

NYC Meetup: Saturday, December 4[edit]

We meet outside by the trees at 5:00 PM.

Our next Wikipedia NYC Meetup is this weekend on Saturday Dec 4 at Brooklyn Museum during their awesome First Saturdays program, starting at 5 PM.

A particular highlight for the wiki crowd will be 'Seductive Subversion: Women Pop Artists, 1958–1968', and the accompanying "WikiPop" project, with specially-created Wikipedia articles on the artists displayed on iPads in the gallery.

This will be a museum touring and partying meetup, so no excuses about being a shy newbie this time. Bring a friend too!

You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.

To keep up-to-date on local events, you can also join our mailing list.

Re: Daft Punk - Rerezzed[edit]

Ha, I just found the music video right before you linked me to it. Thanks anyways. ♫ Douglasr007 (talk) 21:52, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Daft Punk - Music Videos[edit]

A few years ago, I made a fairly stupid mistake (however, it might not have been my username) by adding an "album" section to the music videos list. And now, seeing as no discography articles (except for videography articles) have an album section in the list, I removed it. Is there any specific reason to bringing it back? Shoesquashfan5000 (talk) 03:50, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, there's nothing to indicate that the content causes any particular problem or harm to the article. Since someone else restored the "albums" it would be best to bring up the removal in Talk:Daft Punk discography to see what people think of it. jhsounds (talk) 05:17, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Tron: Legacy Reconfigured[edit]

Yeah, I noticed that. I think the release is going to be similar to Daft Club as various artists are remixing Daft Punk's music from the Tron OST. ♫ Douglasr007 (talk) 22:29, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Evil Woman/ Daft Punk Samples[edit]

I feel, as do many others, that it is clearly a sample and not just coincidence. In which case, should there not be a section somewhere in the Daft Punk article that a) identifies the 'accusations' of sampling and b) that points out that Daft Punk have denied this indirectly through not mentioning it in their album liners (where they have mentioned others) and directly through interviews? — Preceding unsigned comment added by IManOM (talkcontribs) 11:55, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok so the information is on the page for the Discovery album. But when I looked for it before and didn't find it, I didn't find it because I didn't know that the issue was only related to that album. If I didn't find it, I'm going to bet that I'm not the only one who wouldn't. So I still think there should be at least some sort of mention on the Daft Punk page that points or links to the fuller explanation on the Discovery page. Or maybe even mention on the individual songs themselves (Daft Punk or other artists) that it is claimed that a sample of the song has been used, and that it is a claim denied by Daft Punk. Just something, anything, to make it a little bit easier to find without having specialist knowledge of Daft Punk albums. Do you at least see where I am coming from? Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.

For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:24, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Shaeldec2010.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Shaeldec2010.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 23:06, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tonsil stones[edit]

I added information to the page that was deleted, but I dont believe it should be. You seemed to have edited this article before. Why are some treatments 3 of the current 4 allowed to stay without sources or evidence when my was deleted and I have supporting evidence. I am also a user of this treatment and suffered from the stones, but this treatment has helped me and should be included.

Please correct this so it can be added.

Another hositic option is the use of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV). ACV is claimed to have main health benefits among people today, and the history of ACV as a medical treatment is reported to go back to early 400 bc. One use of ACV is drinking a mixture of 2 Table Spoons of Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with 8 oz of Water. The mixture should be gargled for 30 seconds to a minute and them swallowed. This mixture is safe to drink and many people have this as a daily regiment twice a day. The gargling is not necessary for other benefits of ACV but for Tonsil Stones it is recommended as it will help reach the Crypts and clean the affected areas in the mouth. It is important to also rinse the mouth with water after gargling the mixture as the vinegar can affect the coating of the teeth causing increased sensitivity. The Apple Cider Vinegar, which has acidic properties and other cultures that are believed to have additional health benefits, is reported to work by restoring PH balance in the body and reacting against the bacteria and other elements that cause the stones to form.[1]— Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.244.167.226 (talkcontribs)

This will be a casual working event in which Wikipedians are getting together to scan interesting documents at the National Archives related to a different theme each day—currently: spaceflight, women's suffrage, Chile, and battleships—for use on Wikipedia/Wikimedia Commons. The event is being held on multiple days, and in the evenings and weekend, so that as many locals and out-of-towners from nearby regions1 as possible can come. Please join us!
