Daft Punk edits by possible vandal

Hi. Since you've reverted a couple inappropriate edits, I take it you are watching the Daft Punk article? I notice that the last round of changes (part of which I tried to revert) are made by an IP who usually doesn't explain their edits, and is not responding at all to commments made to their talk page [1]. Also, everything they've added to Wiki so far has to do with Daft Punk. So...I'm wondering about a conflict of interest. Did you have any thoughts? Wii

You removed the section about the Wii other controllers saying its already listed, but I can see any information on the Wii page about the balance board and the other devices listed. It is reasonable to place it in a seperate section... Many other bands have a seperate section for cover versions.

Further, someone erased this notation from the media section.

Little Shop

They weren't in plant suits, it was just a CGI animation, with their faces (cropped photos) in the center of a flower on the plant, like the yellow part of a daisy. It was there as a final laugh at the very end. -- Ssilvers (talk) 22:50, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Re: Alive 2006/2007 Tour

Hi, I read about piped links. I considered my use of them as intuitive and not at all misleading. In my opinion "Lollapalooza" and "Lollapalooza Festival" are completely interchangeable titles and would be universally recognised as the same thing. Using a piped link in that instance keeps it consistent with the rest of the article. About "Encore", I found it hard to decipher exactly what was excluded from 2006 setlists, so I capitalised "Encore". However, I realise this might mislead people into thinking this is a song in of itself. Freak.scenery (talk) 00:28, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

I did a search on Google and plenty of results returned for "Lollapalooza Festival", though officially it is called "Lollapalooza".

My caveat is, although the event is widely known to Americans as a music festival, it is not so outside of the United States. Outlining it as "Lollapalooza Festival" acts as a quick assurance to the user that the type of event is a festival. I find it hard to conclude that entitling it so would end up misleading people.

Take another example, "RockNess Festival". Those in Scotland and possibly other parts of the UK refer to the festival as simply "RockNess", yet the Wikipedia article is entitled "RockNess Festival". Again, it is my estimation that such titles for festivals are acceptedly interchangeable. Freak.scenery (talk) 02:03, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

While I would not see the ambiguity in this context, if Wikipedia want the most precise terms then I can accept that. The iPod example helped me understand it better.

Regarding "RockNess", I believe "RockNess" is a more specific term than "RockNess Festival"; I conclude this from the logo you mentioned before and from a browse of the official site. I have corrected the term in the Alive 2006/2007 article, if that is not OK let me know. Otherwise, everything looks fine to me. Freak.scenery (talk) 01:12, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

In regards to your message on 93.194.251.15's talk page

That person has been using several different IPs in the 93.194.* range, capitalizing genres every time. I have also warned him/her several times about capitalizing genres, but he/she continues to do it. I'm not sure if the IP range should be reported as a sockpuppet case or not, but these genre edits are clearly turning into vandalism. Timmeh! 20:50, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

bernard madoff

"Blueboy" re-created the lead section. check his edits prior to mine. it lacked quality, poor syntax and grammar and each sentence was another topic, which requires a new paragraph. i synthesized his thoughts and when he changed topic, i made a new paragraph. all that stuff was inappropriate for the lead. it should be in the "scandal section", but i wasn't going to delete it. feel free to relocate it and to revert to the original lead prior to the 3/12/09 court date; it was simple and precise. (not written by me) blue boy likes seeing his thoughts in print. he makes many many edits and reversions.

'Balance board' article

Rationale for restored images in Injury Risk section: A written warning about breaking bones or tearing ligaments might not be noticed by a reader or might not make an impression on a reader who is young enough to feel invulnerable and attribute the warning to old people’s usual tendency to squelch fun. (And including such a warning is open to the criticism that statistics of such injuries don’t exist. The website of the U.S. government’s Centers for Disease Control doesn’t include balance boarding in its statistics of causes of sports injuries.) A drawing of a skeleton whose nose is highlighted achieves three useful effects: instant evocation of drastic physical danger (a la the conventional skull & bones icon), showing how thin (and therefore fragile) our bones are and implying the reason that a nose-protecting helmet is needed. We can probably assume that the existence of a multifaceted Wikipedia article about balance boards has been spreading their use widely enough to cause more injuries than we would like to cause. If there is a way to scare some potential victims into doing things that will keep them from fulfilling that potential, I vote for it. DavidMaisel (talk) 19:22, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I am associated with the Bongo Board history document and the document that is a guide to balance boards that roll that are linked to in the article’s External Links section. On the first page of one of those documents and the last page of the other, I identified myself as their author. To avoid the appearance of using Wikipedia links for the purpose of self-promotion, I omitted from those two documents any mention of my availability for balance board training and even any mention of my past experience as a balance board trainer. I’ve been training beginners, mostly children, to use rocker-roller boards for twelve years, though not professionally.
