Speedy deletion of Mancini Records[edit]

A tag has been placed on Mancini Records requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Morbidthoughts (talk) 18:21, 22 September 2008 (UTC

  • Do not remove deletion tags from articles you created, as you did with Mancini Records. Doing so is considered vandalism. If you wish to dispute the tag the means to do so are noted above and in the tag itself. Improbcat (talk) 18:44, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Possible COI in Mancini Records[edit]

I noticed that your last name and the name of the article you are working on are the same. If Mancini Records is your studio or you are otherwise officially connected to it you are violating Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy. Also if you are trying to use Wikipedia to promote the studio you are violating the Wikipedia:Spam policy. I strongly encourage you to read both of those articles before making any further edits (especially the How not to be a spammer section of the latter). If you have any questions feel free to ask them on my talk page. Improbcat (talk) 18:48, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Just because an article is on Wikipedia is not proof that it belongs there. It may be that none of the volunteers have gotten around to editing/reviewing/deleting the Polyvinyl records article. It does seem, from a quick review of that article, that the Polyvinyl records article has at one article from an outside source, and is linked to in many articles.
Wikipedia has notability guidelines that it uses to determine if an article subject is appropriate to the encyclopedia project. I believe (but am not certain) that the Mancini Records areticle falls under the "[[Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies)|Notability (organizations and companies)}}" section. I would suggest reviewing that article, and doing research and adding information to the Mancini Records article to show how it meets those guidelines. Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Mancini Records. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. Morbidthoughts (talk) 19:02, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
