1st Question[edit]

{{helpme}}

I'm making a page on Shane Dawson from YouTube, because he's perfectly notable enough (5th most subscribed). It was deleted G4. Is it okay for me to make the article, surviving mainspace? Jeremjay24 22:05, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

To meet the general notability guidelines, a subject needs significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent. See WP:BIO.
If you think an article can be written that meets those requirements, then - as the article was deleted - I suggest that you work on it in your own user space, and then use a further helpme to get it checked over before moving it to the live area.
For example, make user:Jeremjay24/Shane Dawson - click that redlink, and work on it there. Cheers,  Chzz  ►  22:11, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2nd Question[edit]

{{adminhelp}} Hey. If you see above, I asked a question about Shane Dawson. I'm currently very close to finished with the article, and I need the article unprotected, because he's perfectly notable and has YouTube's 5th most subscribed. Thanks, Jeremjay24 20:14, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'd recommend filing a request at WP:DRV. Tim Song (talk) 20:47, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm Terrible at the Wikipedia Language[edit]

{{helpme}} Could someone translate this into plain English?

  • Shane Dawson – Deletion endorsed and maintain status quo regarding salting. – IronGargoyle (talk) 00:09, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Jeremjay24 00:19, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

IronGargoyle is saying that the deleted article that was reviewed, Shane Dawson, will stay deleted. Salt means creation protected, so he's also saying that the creation protection on the page will remain, meaning that users will not be able to recreate the article. Please let me know if there are any more questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 00:46, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict)"Deletion endorsed" means the consensus of those who commented was that the deletion was correct. "Maintain status quo regarding salting" means consensus was also to keep the article from being recreated. Wikipedia:Glossary says "salting" means, "To delete an article and protect it against recreation. This is done when unwanted articles are repeatedly recreated." Further questions? let me know! Editor review archived[edit]

Since it has been well over 30 days since you requested to be reviewed, I've gone ahead and archived your request as part of my effort to cleanup Editor Review. You may view your review here. I have nominated MechScape, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/MechScape (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Jeremjay24 20:17, 30 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Protection.[edit]

Hey. Please edit here saying that you would like it protected from vandalism. [1].--Gordonrox24 | Talk 01:48, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jeremjay24. What do you think about that? This recording is not mentioned at Eminem discography, and I can't find any substantial sources confirming notability. --Vejvančický (talk) 13:44, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest you try your best finding reviews. Try going on Google News (that establishes tons of notability), skip through pages in Google searches, and add more keywords. Jeremjay24 14:28, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I did it, of course. I didn't find anything substantial. Thanks for your advice :) --Vejvančický (talk) 14:48, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
How about putting quote marks around your search? I think fucking crazy would come up with inappropriate things on myspace. Jeremjay24 15:12, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have some experience with Google Search tool, Jeremjay. I've tried a lot of possible combinations. {{prod}} or AfD nomination could be a solution. I'll wait for a while. --Vejvančický (talk) 15:23, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blockland - another link[edit]

http://blockland.kalphiter.com/stats/world.php Pretty cool page showing all the servers in Blockland across the world, using Google Maps. Includes the name of each server. Is this addable? Kalphiter (talk) 16:29, 21 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am very unsure of that. However, you could check with a ton of experts here. Jeremjay24 23:33, 21 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you ignore the reference? Anyways, thanks for keeping the reference there, unlike the other people who do it for hate.

WTF?[edit]

{{helpme}} Does the warning above make sense? I didn't even revert the page thrice. Jeremjay24 21:05, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Correct. Looks like you upset Ephialtes42 with your message and reverts. We could post {{Uw-tempabuse1}} on his page for incorrect use of warning templates, but unless the situation gets worse, I'm inclined to let sleeping dogs lie, it might make things worse. I will remove the template as an error for you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:02, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, but also, you did blank two paragraphs below your player count. --MWOAP (talk) 22:07, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Roblox[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Roblox. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Roblox (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:14, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Shane Dawson[edit]

If you are doing a new article on Shane Dawson, please be sure that you cite adequate reliable secondary sources that provide substantial coverage of his achievements. If you have any doubts about sources, you can ask about them in advance at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard‎. --Bejnar (talk) 03:36, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the advice. Jeremjay24 23:51, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Jeremy, when/if the new Shane Dawson article goes live, please let me know, especially if its nominated for another AfD. The view statistics show[2] that during its brief life earlier this month, the article got well over 500 views every day.--Milowent (talk) 02:54, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Non Free Files in your User Space[edit]

Hey there Jeremjay24, thank you for your contributions! I am a bot alerting you that Non-free files are not allowed in the user or talk-space. I removed some files that I found on User:Jeremjay24/Roblox. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use files to your user-space drafts or your talk page.

Roblox[edit]

Hey, why don't you fix up that article to make it neutral, because as you can see the article has the notifications on it. I don't want it deleted. --GameEnforcer (talk) 14:53, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Since I'm considered a bit of a COI editor, I really don't want to. It won't get deleted, but the wiki group is working hard on improving it. Jeremjay24 22:26, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the speedy deletion template from this article. This painter is notable enough. I've given some explanations to the newbie contributor how to write his first article. And I expect this to become an article written to an acceptable level. And I expect many more articles to come from this contributor. Cheers. JoJan (talk) 09:14, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:DefaultPro.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:DefaultPro.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 06:25, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Heavily-vandalized articles[edit]

{{helpme}} The Roblox article gets edited by many younger (and inexperienced) children. I need a template telling contributors to know a thing or two of WP:MOS before messing with the article, and I'm not sure if I skipped over one that would appropriately fit that. Hey there. We kind of crossed streams on this article - I've got it on my watchlist and will try to keep things from getting crazy on it, while encouraging proper development of any future additions. It hasn't been active enough to warrant semiprotection just yet, but if it does go loopy I'll take care of it then. Cheers! Tony Fox (arf!) 23:00, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
