License tagging for Image:Max9 Logo2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Max9 Logo2.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Screenshot for 3ds max[edit]

I'm wondering why it's so important to add a screenshot, where tools from Orionflame are used, to the article about 3ds Max? If any screenshots are to be included, they should probably reflect what a standard use of 3ds Max might look like. OK, thanks for replying kindly. I saw the image at the Tech Art show at GDC 2007 and thought it's cool. And since the last image was kind of old and not so attractive (shoe image), I replaced it with the one I saw. To me it's better, clearer as in not cluttered, and lastly a more recent image that also shows using Max on Vista (by looking at the menubar). If the image is really not suitable, you are right, better to remove it. I don't usually write here, but when I see something that looks good, I wouldn't mind showing it off.

Since the image is named Orionflame I presume it's a screenshot of said plugin. That's why I'm objecting to it - and the fact that it doesn't look like the standard interface that is recognizable for 3ds Max. Screenshots that look cool are one thing, but they should also serve the purpose of informing the reader. --Strangnet 10:10, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
