Please don't work on other people's tickets

It was locked for a reason. Uploading it as a .jpg not only degraded the image but left a white background that looks horrible on the image. I'm fully aware that the ticket was locked for four days. It was because I was looking for time to work on it. The least you could have done was grab the official image from their website, photoshopped out the background, and uploaded it as a .SVG. Now I have to do that myself. --Majora (talk) 18:22, 7 January 2018 (UTC)

@Majora: Ok, sorry.   — Jeff G. ツ 21:19, 7 January 2018 (UTC)

Road Runner Logo Image

Hi, I work in the Spectrum marketing department and we have been askedby our legal team to remove this image from the page becasue Google is pulling in into our Spectrum Knowledge Graph (that contains company information within Google Search results here: https://www.google.com/search?q=spectrum+internet). Road Runner is a term and logo that Time Warner Cable licensed from Time Warner. Since we are no longer using Road Runner or the logo in market any appearance of it on search results could be misconstrued as usage by Time Warner and therefore subject to continued licensing. I understand it has historical context but it's impacting our brand identity within Google. If you know of a way to keep the image and prevent Google from using it then that would be an acceptable solution. Thanks DarraghFoley (talk) 22:17, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

@DarraghFoley: Hi. NOW I understand. I have placed the "NOINDEX" magic word at the top of the file description page, but I'm not sure how much that will help. Placing it on the article would probably be counterproductive. On the days the file was not on the page, did you notice any difference in Google's results? If so, and it took n days, I'd like to wait 2n days to see the effect. You may need some reduction of the text in the history section to achieve your goal, and that may be difficult to achieve. I have backed up my work. If there is no difference with NOINDEX, I am prepared to have the file removed from the article and automatically deleted. By way of background: I enjoyed watching Road Runner cartoons; I was a customer of Vision Cable, Time Warner Cable, and Road Runner until I moved out of their service area; and I am not a fan of asymmetrical bandwidth caps. I have to wonder how much Time Warner would charge for the additional licensing. Also, I encourage you to review Template:uw-coi.   — Jeff G. ツ 23:34, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

Just a question when you get a moment

Hello! As you know I’m mainly active on commons and my wp edits are mainly trying to improve some of the photography on the en:wp, but I am trying a hand at article creating. I started this article, Mount Carmel East a couple months ago and at first misinterpreted how things should be attributed (first article, I’m sorry) but I believe I have that corrected. I had it copyedited and it was recommended that it may need a “Group or a disambiguation page”. I don’t know how to do that or more to the point, I believe I do but I don’t want to break anything. So when you get a spare moment (no rush at all) could you take a look and give me your advice? Thank you in advance -- Sixflashphoto (talk) 01:58, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

@Sixflashphoto:  Done, see the article talk page. I also expanded many refs.   — Jeff G. ツ 03:10, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

Scottish Cup 1879-80

Sorry Jeff I was trying to help by putting the correct scores into blank spaces in Scottish Cup early years. I spent ages typing all the info as I'm a pure novice, only to find you had re-edited it lol. The information on 1879-80 Round 1 is now wrong as I copied and pasted your work from a previous season and I was endeavouring to use this to change the teams and scores to the correct information. Sorry if I have caused you any trouble, I will bugger off now and won't bother you again, again sorry for any problems I may have caused you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:8003:80e4:fb00:e967:87c5:ea0b:fa93 (talk) 06:35, 28 January 2018‎

@Coffee: The scope of that authorization is extraordinarily wide, would you please be more specific?   — Jeff G. ツ 06:31, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
The Arbitration Committee decided on that scope in this ruling. So, in accordance with their findings, the short answer is no. Coffee // have a ☕️ // beans // 06:55, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
