A tag has been placed on City Link Air requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Horologium (talk) 15:06, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

MSU Interview

Dear Antonio,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, were it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:

  • Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
  • Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
  • All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
  • All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
  • The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.

Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your name HERE instead.

If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.

Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Obar --Jaobar (talk) 15:36, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi. When you recently edited List of portmanteaus, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages TAM and Latam (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Hi Antonio. Back in November, you got either an AfD or PROD notification and it was during one of the template testing project's experiments. If you could go here and leave us some feedback about what you think about the new versions of the templates we tested (1, 2), that would be very useful. Boeing 727 crash test

Was it an accident? No, it was a crash test. Was it a hijacking or theft or some other such crime? No. It doesn't belong in the list. YSSYguy (talk) 08:12, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

It happened. On TV. So it was an incident. It belongs. Antonio Please Me Martin 08:26, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
By the way, Wikipedia:Rollback says, among other things, "Use of standard rollback for any other purposes – such as reverting good-faith changes which you happen to disagree with – is likely to be considered misuse of the tool". YSSYguy (talk) 23:21, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
Apply that to yourself too. Antonio Crackers Martin 09:46, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
I don't have the rollback function, and I did not undo your revert, I initiated a discussion on the Talk Page, which is what you should have done.
The word "incident" has a very specific meaning within aviation, and this event does not qualify as an incident in the aviation sense. The Australian Civil Aviation Authority defines an incident as "an occurrence, other than an accident, associated with the operation of an aircraft that affects or could affect the safety of operation". The US Federal Aviation Administration Order 8020.11C states an incident is "an occurrence, other than an accident, associated with the operation of an aircraft that affects or could affect the safety of operation". Elsewhere an incident is defined as "an unplanned event that could have resulted in an accident, or did result in minor damage [minor damage being something such as a scratch from ground service equipment], and which indicates the existence of, though may not define, a hazard or hazardous condition". Incidents include runway incursions, mid-air near-misses, air traffic control errors, spillage of hazardous materials carried as cargo, failures of onboard electrical systems, and engine failures. I saw the edit, concluded that it wasn't an incident, and hence removed it from the List, leaving an explanation of why I did so. You reverted my edit with no explanation. YSSYguy (talk) 22:10, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
Wikipedia classifies any instance in which a plane has been destroyed as an incident. Antonio The Man Martin 07:36, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

Where is this classification? YSSYguy (talk) 07:06, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

Wikipedia:WikiProject Aviation/Aircraft accidents and incidents-Plus if you go here, you will notice many incidents in which no one died and only the plane was affected are included. Antonio Gutsy Martin 08:51, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
The Aviation Wikiproject page you refer to says nothing of the sort, and an accident has nothing to do with whether people died. If you are just going to make stuff up out of thin air, then there is no point in continuing this discussion. YSSYguy (talk) 21:26, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
Incident...not accident. The wikiproject also does not say that all 4 should apply. Antonio Mano Man Martin 09:21, 20 October 2012 (UTC)

Hello again, do you know spanish, right? Yes, it's the article about Guayana Esequiba. I have been writing on it but nobody else understand spanish and they think what I'm writing is non-neutral. The problem is that they only can take into consideration the sources in english, not in spanish. Thus, an article of this kind written only based on english sources will be biased anyway. I don't know if you are doing that munually or using a script, but you need to remove "piss on the queen's face" [2] from your list of rotating middle names. If you have any other entries like that they should also be removed. I should think it would be fairly obvious that such a thing is not appropriate, but if you would like to see a policy on the subject I believe WP:SIG#Purpose of signatures covers it. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:03, 24 July 2013 (UTC)

I don't mean to pester you over this, but this [3] is not a sufficient response to this concern. As indicated in the policy I linked to, anything that would not be permissible in a username is also not permissible in a signature. If that were your actual username i can assure you you would be blocked right now, so we need to clear this up. As an administrator I'd rather not have to block you and I'd rather not have to check all your talk page posts from now on to be sure you are not doing this again. So, it would be really helpful if you could give some sort of reply here indicating what, if any, corrective measures you have taken. Thanks. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:33, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

White Arrow (disambiguation)

Please stop adding an inappropriate entry to the disambiguation page. Please review WP:DAB and WP:MOSDAB (as well as WP:DDD for a concise set of directions). 1) Disambiguation pages are not articles and should not contain references or external links. 2) Disambiguation page entries should include one blue link to an existing English Wikipedia article that supports the claimed usage. 3) If the usage is in fact notable, then please WP:Write the article first. olderwiser 00:17, 29 December 2013 (UTC)

Once again, please stop adding an entry to the White Arrow (disambiguation) in explicit violation of guidelines. olderwiser 00:10, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Read what I wrote above on 29 Dec. If you need it spelled out, try starting with WP:DABNOT and in particular, WP:DABREF: Don't include external links, either as entries or in descriptions. Disambiguation pages disambiguate Wikipedia articles, not the World Wide Web. To note URLs that might be helpful in the future, include them on the talk page. olderwiser 12:39, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia.

I noticed an article you worked on. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:

  • dates
  • years
  • commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
  • common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).

(This even applies for infoboxes.)

Thanks and my best wishes.
