BB20 Jury answer

Hi, I noticed this edit and wanted to tell you to never be afraid to ask questions! As for the answer, no one knows for sure. There could be some sort of Jury twist as you mentioned there was a time in the past when America got a vote in the Jury. There was also a time in BB18 when the Jury had a Battle Back and the winning Jury member got to return to the game. So for now we'll just have to wait and find out. It shouldn't be too long. TheDoctorWho (talk) 02:29, 3 August 2018 (UTC)

No, I was just saying I counted wrong, there would be nine jurors, not eight. Thank you for responding and offering help! Jayab314 (talk) 02:35, 3 August 2018 (UTC)

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, Jayab314. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

2018 TCs

Please keep in mind that Ava and Bolaven are not a part of the 2018 TCs since they formed in 2017. Please refrain from adding them in the future. NoahTalk 17:44, 24 December 2018 (UTC)

@Hurricane Noah The thing is though it wasn't my idea to add them. It was said in the talk page by Jason Rees (see here) that Bolaven was considered a part of the 2018 Pacific typhoon season by JMA and PAGASA. If we want to further this discussion, I would see more sense in continuing this discussion in the talk page and informing Jason Rees of the disagreement. If not, then we can come to a compromise by making a note or something saying two storms (Bolaven and Ava) were formed in 2017 but died in 2018. I would still like to see this brought to the talk page just to hear other people's opinions. Jayab314 (talk) 17:53, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
All further discussion will be here. Jayab314 (talk) 18:02, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
I tried to clean up the page. I experimented around a bit and made an infobox for the page. I hope that is more organized than what preceded it. NoahTalk 05:24, 27 December 2018 (UTC)
@Hurricane Noah: Thanks for doing all of that and adding Ava and Bolaven. I really appreciate it. The discussion was probably going to come up in a few days on whether or not to have 2018-2019 storms that spanned over New Years so I'm glad to have done it now. Again, thanks for taking the time to add them and then to freshen up the page. I hope this is the last time we'll disagree like that. Have a good 2019! Jayab314 (talk) 08:33, 27 December 2018 (UTC)

Idk about you, but the basin category seems to bloat the table a bit. I did have to remove the information you added to the EPAC section since the section is about the atmospheric and hydrological conditions that led to TC formation. NoahTalk 14:00, 30 December 2018 (UTC)

@Hurricane Noah: No, yeah I get it. I didn't realize it was for atmospheric abd hydrological conditions. I agree in that the basin column looks kind of weird and with the pictures makes each column pretty small. It also seems redundant because the information is already in the timeline. Jayab314 (talk) 14:03, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
Im changing the Australian cyclone names back. I swear... these IP editors don't know what they are doing. NoahTalk 14:28, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
@Hurricane Noah: Ok, but if you revert make sure to keep the death and system totals accurate (150 systems and more than or equal to 1176 deaths) Jayab314 (talk) 14:31, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
Last system to form is not the last system of the year... the last system for 2018 will be the last one of these to dissipate. Just so you are aware, 36W and 94P will likely be named in 2019 and thus be 2019 systems. NoahTalk 22:42, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
@Hurricane Noah: Looks like 94P was just named Penny. Jayab314 (talk) 22:45, 31 December 2018 (UTC)

No, that was 93P... 93P became 08P when JTWC upgraded it to a TS. It was then named by BOM today. NoahTalk 22:46, 31 December 2018 (UTC)

04F and the Australian TL are the same system. BOM confirmed the crossing of it into the south pacific. NoahTalk 21:00, 1 January 2019 (UTC)

@Hurricane Noah: Hey, if you look at the edits on Tropical Cyclones in 2019, I just had to fix some major problems because... well you'll see. Would you help me "monitor" the page to make sure it doesn't happen again, I told them to look at the Bolaven and Ava thing in the 2018 article to see why I did it but yeah, we need to make sure this doesn't keep happening. Jayab314 (talk) 01:21, 4 January 2019 (UTC)

MTS Desmond

You should have waited until MeteoFrance officially declared the tropical storm, which it did just a few minutes ago. The JTWC is not the source of information for that; also, the wind speeds are in knots not mph. Please adhere strictly to what MeteoFrance says; take only 1-minute sustained winds from JTWC.--Jasper Deng (talk) 12:31, 20 January 2019 (UTC)

Ways to improve Big Brother Canada (season 7)

Hello, Jayab314,

Thanks for creating Big Brother Canada (season 7)! I edit here too, under the username Boleyn and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:-

Please add your references.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Boleyn}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Boleyn (talk) 16:19, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

The tables you have added have no information in them, so I have hidden them until more information is known then they can be unhidden. MSalmon (talk) 12:11, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
@Boleyn: Ok, keeping them hidden is fine, but don't delete them. Jayab314 (talk) 12:13, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
Just unhide the section (not the whole lot) which has the relevant information when it becomes available and remember to include a source. MSalmon (talk) 12:16, 16 February 2019 (UTC)

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 15:06, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

@Sportsfan 1234: I want to talk to them but they keep using a different IP every time. I would've already discussed the situation if they had made an account. I did put a discussion up on the article's talk page about this situation too but so far there are no other opinions. I did, however, lay out in my edit notes why I was reverting their edits but it seems like they don't look at that either. My apologies, but if you have a way I can talk to them, I am all ears. Thanks! Jayab314 16:34, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

Edit Dispute on Big Brother Canada (season 7)

So, if you go to the Big Brother Canada (season 7) article and scroll down, you'll see the Have-Not, Shortlist, and Voting history sections. IP editors keep making the same edit that I have to keep reverting. I have discussed this on the article's talk page, but I've got no responses. I've also put it in each of my reverts' edit notes and still they keep doing it. I have no idea how to talk with them since they're IP editors. Now, I am in an edit war and don't know what to do. These are the disputes:

  1. After each name in the Have-Not and Shortlist sections, there should be commas. My reason for the commas is that this is season 7, and every other season (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6), they have the commas. The IP editors keep deleting the commas, even after I made a hidden note to keep the commas.
  2. IP editors are insisting that "Voting history" should be changed to "Voting History", but in every. single. Big Brother season (US, Canada, UK, Brasil, Australia, etc.) it is "Voting history". I have no idea why they're not going to those other pages and changing that too, but it's getting on my nerves.

Obviously, this dispute has gone too far and I don't know what to do anymore. I have discussed this on the talk page, no response. I have discussed this in the edit notes, no notes back in their reverts. I have put the hidden notes in the actual article right next to each problem, they get deleted. Please help! Jayab314 17:01, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

Jayab314, IPs still have talk pages although they're less likely to be seen. It may be best to visit Edit Warring Noticeboard or request semi-protectiom. I'll leave this open in case an admin helper comes along and wants to give their view. RhinosF1(chat)(status)(contribs) 17:21, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
@RhinosF1: Thank you for directing me to those links! Although for some reason this one IP keeps changing every time so I can't create a talk page for them even if I wanted to. Jayab314 17:23, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
Jayab314, Some IPs will change constantly without them even realising. A longer semi might be in order. RhinosF1(chat)(status)(contribs) 17:32, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
@RhinosF1: Yes, I requested a semi-protection for at least one month, ideally until the season is over. Jayab314 17:34, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
Jayab314, Hopefully someone will deal with it soon. Once your happy, add -helped to the help me Template RhinosF1(chat)(status)(contribs) 17:40, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

@RhinosF1: Yes, alright. Thanks for your help! Jayab314 17:42, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

@RhinosF1: It just got semi-protection until April 7!! Jayab314 17:45, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
Jayab314, I'm aware, I let one of our admin helpers know. RhinosF1(chat)(status)(contribs) 17:47, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

Wie is de Mol? (season 8) moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Wie is de Mol? (season 8), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 14:01, 18 March 2019 (UTC)

@CASSIOPEIA: Ok that makes sense... was going to work on refs today. Thanks for informing me! Jayab314 22:25, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
Hi Jayab314, Greetings. Thank you for adding some sources into the draft page. However, the sources you provided (all but one) are not independent from the subject. pls note that we need sources that are independent, reliable sources with significant coverage that talk about the subject (Wie is de Mol) in depth and in length and no mainly passing mentioned. Sources such as from major newspapers would be acceptable. Since this show is on the its 8 seasons, it is easy to find sources to support the contain claimed. Sources in any languages are acceptable. Once yo have added the sources, pls resubmit the page. The backlog is huge at the moment and if you want me to review it after sources are added then let me know. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:30, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
@CASSIOPEIA: I added some more sources and submitted the article for submission. Jayab314 23:03, 27 March 2019 (UTC)
Hi Jayab314, The sources your provide are not independent as they are associate with the subject. Since it is the 8th season, it would not be hard to find sources from newspapers of this series. Kindly find a few and added them in. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 09:49, 28 March 2019 (UTC)
@CASSIOPEIA: I have serious tried looking for sources for hours, but as it was made in 2008 and is only popular in the Netherlands, it makes it all the more difficult to find newspapers from 11 years ago from the Netherlands talking about this one season of Wie is de Mol? Jayab314 10:05, 28 March 2019 (UTC)
Hi Jayab314, Sources can be in any languages. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 10:09, 28 March 2019 (UTC)
@CASSIOPEIA: Yes I understand that, but I just cannot find newspapers that have talked about season 8. All I can find is season 19, the season that finished up a few weeks ago, and some from season 18. Jayab314 20:28, 28 March 2019 (UTC)
Hi Jayab314, Could you able to find any source regarding the show itself (not about the session 8)? if you could then you would use the sources in the lead section (write a brief info about the show) and add the source to it. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 01:12, 29 March 2019 (UTC)

Samantha/Sam

You told me to stop changing Sam to Samantha because the rule is the page should match the chyron in the show. Well the chyron in the show has always said Samantha and not Sam. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.78.10.136 (talk) 01:14, 26 April 2019 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 13

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Andy Murray, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Michael Venus (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Replaceable fair use File:Why Women Kill socialites, August 2019.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Why Women Kill socialites, August 2019.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. TheDoctorWho (talk) 00:58, 17 August 2019 (UTC)

@Jayab314: Responded with a in depth explanation as well as an easy fix. Sorry 'bout that btw didn't realize it was you when I nominated or I would've come here before nominating. TheDoctorWho (talk) 03:32, 17 August 2019 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Why Women Kill, season 1 socialites.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Why Women Kill, season 1 socialites.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 18 August 2019 (UTC)

@Jayab314: Alright this one was nominated for a different reason but I think it meets the criteria. An admin will eventually come through and make a decision on this one too. If the image is deleted I'll fight for it and talk with the admin by either taking it to Deletion Review or Files for Discussion if needed depending on what happens. Hopefully it all works out! You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:33, 19 August 2019 (UTC)

Notice

The article Survivor: Winners at War has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article uses sources from a singular spoiler site, Inside Survivor. The other site sourced, Reality Blurred, also uses information from Inside Survivor. The screenshot Instagram post with a picture of a logo also cannot be used as a valid source, since 1) the person in question is clearly a tourist who just met Steven Bradbury, not affiliated with CBS, 2) does not state "Winners at War" is the fortieth season", and 3) is a screenshot of the Instagram post, which could mean that it make doctored (either by Photoshop or through the Source Editor). The last time an article for Survivor used only sources from Inside Survivor, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Survivor: Edge of Extinction, it was stated that "sources that have been presented were shown to not be WP:RS".

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
