- Hiya, I keep trying to update the WU LYF wiki page and you keep editing it back! I work with WU LYF and I’m keen to upload the actual facts rather than something which is misleading. - Hi James, the only part that I reverted was the part where you deleted information and references without explanation. That's why I asked you to discuss the changes that you wish to make on the talk page. Chances are, once you explain what it is you're trying to do we can reach consensus on the best way to do it. - Sorry, I’m pretty new to wikipedia. I hoped to change it because it was slightly misleading. The text appears to suggest that Warren, their manager, was hiding in the background but actually the band had his email address on their Facebook from the start. Also it’s correct that Warren owns four23 and An Outlet but he also worked at Factory Records, so he has a music background, which is why he works with WU LYF – this isn’t mentioned. The band reference him a lot (War God) and credit his involvement on their website – www.worldunite.org. So I wanted to just make it clear what the truth was, rather than what was written by a Canadian blogger. Is that OK? This is all backed up in the Guardian article you referenced today. I was changing it to: As the band chooses not to release much information on themselves—they list their manager as "War God" - Warren Bramley - on their Facebook page. Warren Bramley worked with Anthony H Wilson at Factory Records. He is also the founder of creative studio four23 and owns ‘An Outlet’ the venue in Manchester where the band started out. - As I'm sure you're aware, the band's marketing strategy so far has been one of not releasing much info to the press, with the desired effect of causing journalists to dig around for info themselves. The info in the "Details" section shows that one particular journalist did just that. I don't think this section attempts to imply that the band was hiding the identity of the manager in particular, I think it shows that they were hiding everything. I have added back the part about Factory Records and I added a reference to validate it. Take a look at the section now to see if you like it. Btw, it was quite a struggle just to get an article on WU LYF online here at wiki. The article has been deleted several times and I had to fight for it first via a WP:DRV[1] then again via a WP:AfD[2]. Also, there weren't any "free" pictures of the band on the web, but I convinced a Flickr user to change the licensing of one of his pics so that it could be used in the article. Go Tell It To The Mountain[edit]
Hi James, Once the album is released on the 13th, I think there's enough press coverage already to justify creating a page for the album. I had intended to do it myself, but I'd be happy to let you do it if you want, if you know how. I would recommend creating it in your userspace to begin with and then copy it over to the mainspace on the 13th. If we create it before the 13th it's likely to get deleted.
