Attaching <ref name="reference"> to the first reference allows it to link to other sentences. After you have added this, attaching <ref name="everythingy.com"/> to the second or third sentence will chain-link to the first reference. Example:

Kate Hudson were raised in Colorado by her mother and her mother's long-time boyfriend, actor Kurt Russell.<ref name="chinadaily">{{cite news | title=Kate Hudson finds success fun, but hard earned | url=http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/entertainment/2006-07/13/content_639893.htm| accessdate=12 July 2006 |publisher=''[[China Daily]]|date=13 July 2006}}</ref>

Example of the chain-link:

She was accepted to New York University but chose to pursue an acting career instead of an undergraduate degree.<ref name="chinadaily" />

An example of these tags in use is Kate Hudson.

You may fill the ref name with either the title of the news article or the publisher. Example: If the link is from The Washington Post, you may add replace "reference" with "washingtonpost".
