Peer Review 1: Itbag[edit]

Good work expanding the Origins section. Could possibly add sections about the general reception of the theory, as well as how it has developed over the years. Could add a section about Blumer's research and methodology for testing his theory, what sort of experiments/data were collected. - Itbag (talk) 23:17, 31 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Peer Review 2 from Gaoy53[edit]

This is an interesting topic and I enjoyed reading about it. I think that you did a good job explaining the theory in the lead and maintaining the neutrality of the article. The lead provides a concise and straightforward definition to describe the subject, and at the same time, it introduces the major sections that are covered in the article. However, some information from the lead paragraph, including studies that do not support or are contrary to the theory, is not present in the body of the article. You should consider adding those details, and beyond that, I would like to read about specific research, the evolvement of the theory, and its application in different fields. These are potential information to be included in the content, and I think that by highlighting them, you can demonstrate the notability of the article as well.

The organization of your article is excellent as well. Your use of headings and subtitles clearly distinguishes sections of different topics. When I check on the links of references, all of them work, and many of them come from academic sources and are peer-reviewed journals from recent years, which enhance the credibility of the article. One possible improvement is that most of the sources cover the research and phenomenon that support and legitimize the group threat theory. Limited sources discuss the opposite point of view and corresponding evidence. I suggest you discovering new sources and integrating more information to enhance the comprehensiveness of the article. Overall, great job and good luck with polishing your article! To see more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Ijustinns/Group_threat_theory/Gaoy53_Peer_Review. Feedback on your article[edit]

@Ijustinns: The paragraph you've added summarizing Blumer's paper on race prejudice seems good enough. I don't really see any reason to keep you for adding that over. Take a look at and then go ahead and this list of suggestions for polishing your article and then move it over when you're ready.

The section on Hubert Blalock's piece seems to missing. It might be nice to put a little more effort into this by adding more content and having the content be about the concept of group threat theory rather than just a sort of report/description of a single article—even if it's an important one to the field. After all, this is not an article about Blumer's article. —mako 23:23, 13 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
