Hi Brian, it is my URL, but I am the faculty member in charge of that program. If you think that linking to the internal NEC page that then subsequently links to the external site follows better wikipedia behavior, that's great. I'm happy to change that link to: http://necmusic.edu/vocal-pedagogy. This is my faculty page.

Using internal links for the Conservatory would both appear more neutral and avoid future problems if other editors see the link and have the same reaction I did. Thank you. However, there is another issue here: we almost always avoid inline External Links per WP:ELPOINTS, but this also falls afoul of a number of guidelines including WP:ELMINOFFICIAL, WP:NOTDIR, WP:PRIMARY. There's probably no need for the link in the article at all.
One final thing, don't take this wrong, but I'm going to send a template below describing our policies and guidelines for contributors who are connected to a subject. It's the same boilerplate for everyone, so some of it will apply to you and some won't. But I see nobody has done this yet, so you ought to be made aware.
