Admin coaching[edit]

Hi, I recently listed myself at Wikipedia:Admin coaching/Requests. Since you are listed as available for coaching, I decided to ping you directly. I have been here 9 months and like requested templates, vandal wacking and some of the more policy-related areas. Looking to find my weak spots or help out in places I might have missed. I put in a co-request with Husond. —Dgiest c 19:39, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I'm free now and just contact Fang Aili that you want to be coached under me and she can make the arrangements. I'm ready to start anytime. Just post any questions and I will answer asap. Thanks. Terence Ong 恭喜发财 08:01, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • OK, for starters, I've noticed you are fairly active in AfD. Since ideally the person closing an XfD debate is not someone who expressed an opinion on it, how do you weigh the need to raise an important point in a debate against the desire to close it with the correct outcome? Or is this guideline not followed all that strictly? —Dgiest c 18:58, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • It really depends, if it's controversial or something then you will have to think about it. Usually, clear cut AFDs for example majority or all feels that the article should be kept/deleted then there's no need to have a point raised in the deletion debate. Not really adhered to actually. Ok, can you create User:Dgies/Admin coaching asap? Thanks. Terence Ong 恭喜发财 09:55, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
      • It took me too long to notice this; gotta clean out the watchlist... Anyway, started the page. —Dgiest c 04:15, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for keeping me in the loop about what you're doing. Good luck to all 3 of you. --Fang Aili talk 15:36, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have also been considering applying for Admin, and have listed myself of the Admin Coaching page, which queues back to July. I am not looking for a full coach at the moment, but am just wondering what kind of history I should have established on Wikipedia before even applying for Admin. A brief explanation would be appreciated. Freedomlinux 01:32, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA[edit]

Thanks for your support in my recent RfA which passed unanimously - thus proving that you can indeed fool some of the people some of the time. I'm still coming to terms with the new functionality I have, but so far nothing bad has happened. As always, if there's anything you need to let me know, just drop me a line on my Talk page. Thank you for supporting me in my RfA. Thanks for your vote, I've received an overwhelming 96% support and successfully took a copy of bucket-and-mop from the main office!

School graduation exam and HKCEE are both pressing in, so I might become inactive for a while. But soon after that, I look forward to working with you!

Plus, thank you for celebrating. --Deryck C. 03:25, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another RfA thanks![edit]

Hi, Terence. A big thank you for supporting my RfA. I was astounded by the level of support - really unexpected and quite humbling. If there's ever anything I can do to help, or you see me stepping out of line, be sure to let me know! Bubba hotep 09:45, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your support on my RfA. It passed with 55/0/0. I'll try my best to be worthy of the trust the community has put in me. If there are any of my actions you have a problem with or a question about, please feel free to discuss this with me and if needed to revert me. If there is anything else I can help you with (backlogs, comments, ...), you can always contact me on my talk page. Fram 15:03, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA[edit]

Thank you for your comments on my my recent RfA in which I withdrew because the oppose votes were almost equalling the supporters. I then decided to leave my account (Tellyaddict) and start fresh under a new username, however I quickly decided to reconsider after another user persuaded me not to leave the account - I am now glad I did reconsider because leaving that account and creating a new one was too hasty so I've decided to improve rather than starting again! I hope we can remain civil and that there were no negative feelings caused. Again, thanks for your support even though you opposed and I withdrew it, your vote is much appreciated! Concerning your Admin Coaching assignments[edit]

Your name is still listed at Wikipedia:Admin coaching/Volunteers. The department is heavily backlogged with student's requests for coaches, and we need your help!

Note that the instructions may have changed since the last time you checked, and the department now follows a self-help process...

If you don't currently have a student, or if you believe you can handle another one, please select a student from the request list at Wikipedia:Admin coaching/Requests and contact them. See the instructions on Wikipedia:Admin coaching. Good luck.

If you are no longer available to coach, , please remove yourself from the volunteers list.

Thank you.

My RfA[edit]

Hi Terence. I'd like to thank you for your support of my RfA. It was closed at surprising 75/0/0, so I'm an admin now. MaxSem 22:48, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My RFA[edit]

Many thanks for your support at my RFA. It ended successfully and I am now a glorified janitor. If I can be of any assistance please don't hesitate to contact me through my talk page. Happy editing! Ocatecir Talk 18:11, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
