The fact that the page I edited was no more a translation from the Spanish page induced me to delete from the template the reference: Translated|es|Batalla de Toro. My mistake. Interested in editing for potential GA nomination of an article of yours

I happened to read your article that you took a major part in editing Battle of Toro, and thought that I could be nominated for at least a GA status (maybe FA, but I never nominated for that before). I'm part of WP Spain, and I've spent the day looking for WPSpain-related articles that needed to be linked with the WP, and that article was surprisingly not linked to anything but WPMILHIST, and it's definitely better than that. I think the article will need to be edited some, but not significantly. I wouldn't be the one to review it, though. I just usually look for potential GA's within my scope of interests. With regards to Isabella of Castile

First off, I wish to say sorry about the nomination of the Battle of Toro. However, if you rewrite your article towards more of a Wikipedian-style format (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style), it could get the nod. If you look at the other sections on the article, and try not to oversource (three is usually too much unless its needed), and minimize the number of historians mentioned on the section, if not eliminate them altogether (it's prone to take away the reading style of the article, not just the section), and summarize what they say without mentioning their names (citations can be used inadvertently for acknowledgement as well as verification). If you wish to add a note of what the historian said, add note citations instead of it actually being in the article (Look at William the Conqueror's page, for example). Another problem is the constant unnecessary italics in the section, and the bolding. If there's one thing that's not the problem is that lack of citations, they just need to be placed properly. I really would like to improve both Ferdinand and Isabella's page (Ferdinand will take more work), but for now, Isabella's would be easier to manage. I'm willing to help where needed, as I plan on going to the library soon to try and get a hold of some more material. Just contact me when you get the chance, and thanks for reading this. Spanish invasion of Portugal (1762)

Thanks for your note. I originally visited the page to correct a minor spelling error. As you've spent so much time on it I'm loath to make any big changes without discussing them first. The article might be improved if a lot of the quotes given in the Notes section were removed. A new Sources section listing only those works which are cited could be introduced and the reference would be shorter. The reader could then easily verify the source by clicking on it and entering the page number or relevant text in the search bar on the linked page. This would make editing easier because the edit window would be clearer. The other books and articles listed but not directly cited could be grouped together in a Further reading section. User group for Military Historians

"Military history" is one of the most important subjects when speak of sum of all human knowledge. To support contributors interested in the area over various language Wikipedias, we intend to form a user group. It also provides a platform to share the best practices between military historians, and various military related projects on Wikipedias. An initial discussion was has been done between the coordinators and members of WikiProject Military History on English Wikipedia. Now this discussion has been taken to Meta-Wiki. Contributors intrested in the area of military history are requested to share their feedback and give suggestions at Talk:Discussion to incubate a user group for Wikipedia Military Historians.

April 2018 Milhist Backlog Drive

G'day all, please be advised that throughout April 2018 the Military history Wikiproject is running its annual backlog elimination drive. This will focus on several key areas:

• tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
• adding or improving listed resources on Milhist's task force pages
• updating the open tasks template on Milhist's task force pages
• creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various lists of missing articles.

As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.

The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the scope of military history will be considered eligible. This year, the Military history project would like to extend a specific welcome to members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red, and we would like to encourage all participants to consider working on helping to improve our coverage of women in the military. This is not the sole focus of the edit-a-thon, though, and there are aspects that hopefully will appeal to pretty much everyone.

The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 April and runs until 23:59 UTC on 30 April 2018. Those interested in participating can sign up here.

April 2021 WikiProject Military History Reviewing Drive

Hey y'all, the April 2021 WikiProject Military History Reviewing Drive begins at 00:01 UTC on April 1, 2021 and runs through 23:59 UTC on April 31, 2021. Points can be earned through reviewing articles on the AutoCheck report, reviewing articles listed at WP:MILHIST/ASSESS, reviewing MILHIST-tagged articles at WP:GAN or WP:FAC, and reviewing articles submitted at WP:MILHIST/ACR. Service awards and barnstars are given for set points thresholds, and the top three finishers will receive further awards. To participate, sign up at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Military_History/April 2021 Reviewing Drive#Participants and create a worklist at Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/April 2021 Reviewing Drive/Worklists (examples are given).
