Dinosaur taxonomy[edit]

Please stop changing the parent of Therapoda to bypass Saurischia. The general consensus of experts still appears to support a Saurischia/Ornithischia split; if you have evidence that this is no longer the case, please discuss it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Dinosaurs. Baryonychinae[edit]

Here's the explanation: I seem to have gotten the page caught in a trap. The problem is that I was trying to remove the unwanted redirect to Spinosaurida, and something went wrong. As you left it, the draft was still present as well as the article. I tried to change it to a redirect to the article, and it redirected wrong again. I've now fixed it, but there's no redirect at all and I'm not going to try to make one to avoid messing it up further. Please check the current page to be sure that I didn't lose any of your revisions. Draft space is tricky. DGG ( talk ) 19:07, 11 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Sorry for the complications, and I suppose something could have been done before I started the draft to address the fact that there is an article with the same name existing, but technically doesn't since the page is just a redirect. That seems like the best way to go, since I don't think it would be possible to move the draft into article namespace unless it would be a duplicate. Thanks for sorting it out though. Sciroseps moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Sciroseps, is not suitable as written to remain published. It some prose content and citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. JW 1961 Talk 20:29, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

My bad, I was interrupted with something before I had a chance to fix that. But thanks for fixing that for me. Hiroizmeh (talk) 21:52, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your mass estimates[edit]

I noticed that you've added mass estimates to the pages of some basal sauropodomorphs. While I applaud your work, I am under the impression that such figures were calculated by you and not taken directly from the sources you cited. This falls into the territory of original research, which is strictly forbidden from being added to articles under Wikipedia rules. As such, I've gone ahead and removed those estimates. Please refrain from adding your own calculations and hypotheses to Wikipedia articles in the future. Thank you. Miracusaurs (talk) 02:40, 7 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. I anticipated it may have been contested, but I thought something useful like that would be valid under WP:CALC (Routine calculations as not original research) since they're just simple calculations based on a formula that is universally agreed on; but I can see how something like that could be questionable. It's fine, I'll leave them out of the articles. Thanks. Hiroizmeh (talk) 02:56, 7 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thaleops taxonomic help[edit]

Hello I am creating a page for the Illaenid trilobite Thaleops, I have the taxonomy down, however it says I am missing taxonomic templates. If you could help me with this that would be awesome.

Fossiladder13 Fossiladder13 (talk) 21:10, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Fossiladder13:There you go:) Everything there should be fixed now. I also added to the taxobox a bit. Hiroizmeh (talk) 21:35, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much, have a good night Fossiladder13 (talk) 21:58, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

One more question how long should it take for someone to officially add this page to Wikipedia, and do you think it’s good enough for submission? Fossiladder13 (talk) 23:47, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I am able myself to add pages to Wikipedia whenever I want. In fact, the page is fine as it is to be added, since many pages on extinct animals exist that are shorter than this. But, this page is probably a good chance to write a "Good Article" (since the source has a lot of info), which is a title rewarded to exceptionally-written articles, or even "Featured Articles", for some of the best articles.
Since I guess it's ready, I'll move it to article space now, but always be encouraged to continue on it:). Hiroizmeh (talk) 23:54, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Fossiladder13 (talk) 23:55, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The butterfly animal page[edit]

Hello, I am sorry to bother you again, but can you peer review a new page on the butterfly animal of Waukesha, like maybe change things and maybe add it to article mode. Please Fossiladder13 (talk) 03:14, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please help me with this Fossiladder13 (talk) 18:16, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What's the exact title? I can't seem to find the page. Hiroizmeh (talk) 22:44, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your cladograms[edit]

I see there's a modified version of my theropod cladogram at the top of your cladogram page. May I ask what exactly were your criteria for the modifications you made? Just curious.

Also, it's Calamosaurus, not Calamospondylus. Miracusaurs (talk) 06:25, 12 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oh. It was just a little practice calculating strict consenses (maximum clade agreement) of two phylogenetic trees. I was wondering if any other wikipedia user had done their own little phylogenetic analyses like i had, and came across yours and used it as an example.
But yeah, what the tree is is a strict consensus, basically the most resolute agreement between two or more trees (just focused on Theropoda), which were your separate TNT and Mesquite versions. Hiroizmeh (Talk | Contributions) 17:42, 12 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Thanks for showing an interest in my work! Miracusaurs (talk) 00:51, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Admin score[edit]

Just curious, how do you calculate the "admin score" on your user page? Atlantis536 (talk) 05:21, 5 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Atlantis536:[1]. It's a wikitech tool in XTools. Also, neat that you should ask, because I was wondering about something too.
Somewhere (some talk page or edit summary) I saw something along the lines 'wikipedia includes *number* of dinosaur pages that aren't redirects'. i made the mistake of not keeping track of it, and now I can't find that anywhere. I'm pretty sure it was you, but it might not have been aswell. I was wondering what tool might have been used to get a count of all dinosaur genus articles on wikipedia. Hiroizmeh (Talk | Contributions) 17:09, 5 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I count the dinosaur pages manually. Every year on December 31st, I click on every link on List of dinosaur genera and note whether it's a redirect or not. I transcribe the entire list on a numbered list on Pages, allowing me to see the exact number of entries. I note each redirect by marking them in red text and subtract their number to get the number of live dinosaur entries. Atlantis536 (talk) 01:10, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

May I please have your email?[edit]

@Hiroizmeh: Could you please enable the email facility on your account? I wish to talk to you about something unrelated to Wikipedia but I don't know how else to contact you. Thanks. Atlantis536 (talk) 13:24, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Hiroizmeh: Sent you a message. It should appear in your inbox as "Wikipedia email from user Atlantis536" Atlantis536 (talk) 16:33, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Hiroizmeh: Replied to your message. In case you're confused, it should appear in your mail provider's inbox, not on Wikipedia. You can reply to it like a normal email; no need to send an email through Wikipedia everytime. Also, please try to check your inbox more often. Copying licensed material requires attribution[edit]

Hi. I see in a recent addition to Iberospinus you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Creative Commons Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. It's also required under the terms of the license. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this licensing requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa (talk) 02:01, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
