March 2015[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Sandwich, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Adding or removing content is almost never a minor edit. Thank you, and happy editing! Thank you, Ibadibam - I was not aware of any formal meaning or significance to the phrase "minor edit", so no great surprise that I got it wrong, not having noticed the (recent???) existence (in the editing frame or template) of a link or cross-reference for the phrase, to the page you have just drawn my attention to. Should I do a minimalist edit to draw attention as indicated? If yes, how far back should I go with similar actions elsewhere? Thanks again. Heraldica (talk) 08:55, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it's not made very clear. The real difference is that a normal edit triggers a notification to any editor watching that page, while a minor edit doesn't. At any rate, I wouldn't worry about past edits...people usually notice the changes eventually. Ibadibam (talk) 20:22, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for January 19[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Canting arms, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Portuguese. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
