Portland Farmers Market[edit]

Thank you for your effort to improve Wikipedia. Unfortunately, I reverted your edit to Portland Farmers Market because of the number of issues it introduced. While there were undoubtedly age-related problems before, at least they were properly sourced and the article followed the Manual of Style.

First of all, the topic is the market itself: Its management by an organization or other entity is a side issue.

Secondly, citations are included to support statements. You introduced a citation for the article title (which does not need support).

Thirdly, the lead describes what the topic is and summarizes what makes it interesting or noteworthy.

Fourthly, articles are written with a neutral point of view. They do not state an intent or use hyperbole.

Lastly, but most importantly, you should not write about a topic for which you are likely personally involved. Here is our standard conflict-of-interest advisory:

Information icon Hello, HaleyHessler. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Portland Farmers Market, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you.

Please do make use of the talk page to point out weaknesses and suggest improvements. There are several editors who watch this page, myself included, who can help make changes.
